I left a part of me in Lamu 🥹 I loved the town, the people, the food, the vibe & the culture! I’d live in this little island 💯 the sunset was magical, dhow cruise amazing, beach at Shela very clean and donkey ride should be on your bucketlist, but women remember to cover yourself up they feel uncomfortable when women dress in short showing clothes sometimes the locals will ask you to dress/cover up.

Amu Tamu! Drove through Thika -Garissa-Lamu road🧐 of course there are security concerns but the ocean was calling 😜and had a very energetic team 💯💯All in all God took good care us!! One more item off the bucket list💃💃

Beautiful Island to be of you are looking for peace and calm holiday. If you like the island life and a seafood lover, this is the place.

No place beats lamu if you are looking for a town with rich swahili culture and ancient history. This island reminds me of old town in Zanzibar. You can enjoy a really good walk along the old town in the narrow streets. It always feel like am in a maze. Boat rides are also available to visit Shela town about 2 or 3 kilometres away. Behind Shela town or adjacent the Majlis resort is beautiful beach area where one can enjoy beach activities. Lamu has great history and you can get more of those from a local tour guide if you fancy. I must come back!

Classic place, a must visit UNESCO Heritage. The wannabe local guide dosed with some drugs can be bothering but rest is 5 stars.

Transport and good restaurants are a little expensive. If you are traveling on a budget, you can catch public boats to and from Shela at 100 shillings. Private boats go for 400 - 500 shillings. Lamu is a BEAUTIFUL TOWN! The people are genuinely nice and very hospitable. There's a lot of sun, sand, food and culture to experience. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely island though dirty , the boda bodas are making it worse. There are no clothes or shoe items made in Lamu that the visitors and tourists can purchase.
