Yelp
We have been coming to this restaurant under its previous iterations for years now, and were hesitant to try it after its Szechuan style restaurant closed (not a good fit for the area). We asked our local friends about the new Bar & Grill and heard mixed reviews, mostly critical of the service, i.e., the lack of it.
We had a 5:45 reservation in the bar area because the patio and dining areas were all booked. (Reservations are currently through Open Table) The dining areas are spacious and comfortable. Did I see dining chairs with carved pineapplyemotif that once furnished the informal dining space at the Lodge at Koele?
We found service to be quite attentive and friendly, and our dinner was tasty - we got Caesar salads (locally grown romaine from Sensei's hydroponic operation), and split a classic burger with fries. The burger was a bit salty but cooked as requested and plenty for the 2 of us after entree sized Caesar salads.
By 6:00 pm this place was very busy, and the staff handled guests and some snafus very well. Mahalo to our server Cherokee for looking after us. We will be back soon! (Sorry, no photos, the food looked so good, we dove in and didn't bother).
