We stayed at Laneaux Mansion using a gift certificate from an event, and sadly, it was a very disappointing experience. We were assigned Beth’s Escape, which was a small room in the back. It was dark, dusty, and musty—not at all the charming stay we had hoped for. As locals, we wanted to see if this would be a place to recommend to future guests, but unfortunately, it fell far short. While communication with the host was fine, there was no one on-site to assist with anything. Everything was handled by remote check-in, which made the place feel impersonal and disconnected. The mansion itself has been chopped into apartments, losing the historic charm and beauty we remembered from visiting during the estate sale years ago. What we found instead was Lowe’s-style furniture, Costco yogurt, sour milk, a quarter-filled water bottle, and cheap orange juice—all in a room that rents for around $400 a night. It didn’t feel locally run or cared for in a way that reflects true New Orleans hospitality. Sadly, we would not stay again and cannot recommend it to others.

Perfect location near French Market, Frenchman' Street with live Jazz Music, Streetcars, Jackson Square, Bourbon St. Room had all the comforts of home..plates, bowls, Silverware, dish towels, Soaps, Toaster, Coffee Marker, Washet/ Dryer, Bath towels, shampoo/ conditioner, body wash, more...Even a small detail like Salt/Pepper shakers! The High Ceilings and blown glass lightening was gorgeous! Hard wood flooring. Bed was very comfortable and slept well during our 5 day stay. The Continental Breakfast was perfect for us. Orange Juice, Milk, Oatmeal, Cinnamon Bars, Yougut, ice in freezer with filtered water. Loved everything about our stay!

Stayed at the Wieland Suite. Private entrance through the back garden area (Super cute and wish we took advantage of that more). The room and space was grand and beautiful, the bed was super comfy. The location was beyond perfect. We were able to walk mostly everywhere we wanted in the French Quarter. The French market was only 2/3 blocks away and then we easily walked Bourbon street. Overall such a great hotel and we will be back!

I was drawn by the pics, but fell in love with the cottage in person. The bed was so comfortable and had a good night’s rest each night. I loved having a full size fridge and stove that came with a continental breakfast. The host thought of everything. The host was available by phone and guided me to where to locate amenities in the main house when I needed it. Super convenient to the nightlife. Just be sure to reserve parking when you book. There’s residential zoning which means finding off street parking if you don’t. I will definitely stay again and again.

Our recent stay at the Lanaux Mansion was magical and memorable. This historic home is a step back in time and brimming with a vibrant history. Our accommodations were pleasant and comfortable and we even enjoyed a complimentary bottle of champagne. Both Ms. Andrea and Ms. Beth were responsive before, during, and after our visit, which made for an easy stay. We are already planning our next visit!

We stayed here for a bachelorette party in early April. Booking was easy, and the hosts were quick and accommodating when we had changes to our reservation (changing the number of people and adding a night). We rented out the 3-bedroom suite, and it really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The location was fantastic, too -- right off of Frenchman St and a short walk to the French Quarter. I would definitely recommend this place for groups!

We had a wonderful stay at Sophies Cottage. It was perfect for us with a nice kitchen and small patio. The hosts kindly leave coffee maker and coffee and milk to start your day. The location is perfect steps from the heart of Frenchman street. Andrea the manager is wonderful. Thanks we will be back! -Chris Whitby

Fantastic location for a quiet stay close to the action of Frenchman Street! The property was as described and perfect for two couples. They even let us use the main house so our accomplished pianist could entertain us, such a fun memory :) Note: there is no bathroom on the main level, a bit tricky to navigate the narrow and wonky stairs to the two upper floors with the bedroom suites. Understandably, there is constant maintenance for such a beautifully preserved historical mansion, Nofio was courteous and helpful with recommendations.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay with our documentary crew and their friends and family. We chose Lanaux Mansion as the place to celebrate the end of our documentary's three month journey where we followed a kayaker from Lansing, NC all the way to the Gulf. Since she was finishing her journey near New Orleans, we chose Lanaux as the place to not only stay but hold our celebration dinner, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodations were GORGEOUS and right in the heart of the New Orleans action. They also hosted our celebration dinner, and the service and food was extraordinary. We were all blown away by their hospitality, and we couldn't recommend Lanaux Mansion enough! :)
