The interior is absolutely beautiful, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to hang out for a while. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights is the huge outdoor seating area in the back—perfect for enjoying your ice cream on a nice day. I also appreciated that they offer free water, which is a thoughtful touch. Plus, the bathrooms are spotless, which is always a great sign of a well-maintained place. Overall, this shop has everything—great ambiance, excellent service, and all the little details that make a visit special. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

The beverages and treats were great. The employees working were nice and patient, but the indoor dining area was a really cramped. It is basically a hallway with 5 tables and chairs. There is an outdoor space as well, which looks lovely, but it was to cold to eat outside.

Google
Had the Oreo ice cream in a cake cone and it was awesome. Not too sweet and perfectly smooth. Totally worth the $4 and change. It’s a quaint little shop with a great relaxing atmosphere. They also sell a bunch of handmade, locally/ethically sourced products like small handbags, book marks, hair clips, etc.

Google
It's worth going to this place just for the amazing smell! 😀 As a bonus they also sell their stroopie waffles and amazing ice cream! They have a little bit of seating inside as well as a lovely courtyard outback. Thank you for participating in the Taste The World tour!

Google
Cute place. Good ice cream. Great service. Street parking.

Nick Dangerous

Google
They have the best ice cream that I have ever had anywhere in my life. Ice cream in fancy ice creameries at shops or stores, or even "Amish made" is nowhere close to their taste and quality. Let's not forget their drinks, well made and give no acne. Prices, good. Very fair and worth it.

Google
This place was great. Just kinda wondering the streets near our church and we found this place. Went inside not knowingly exactly what they sold....CHO OLATES and lots of them in differing variety. But my favorite was a coconut ice cream that was the best I have ever had and I have been to PSU creamery. Definitely want to come back with the grandkids. Highly recommended.

Maurielle C

Google
They have good ice cream and some unique flavors! Aside from cold deserts they also have a large variety of other room temperature deserts to choose from. Place is clean, staff is nice, and there are some tables to sit indoors. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Yelp
I can see why this place has such good reviews - it left me yearning for more! In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I would return to Lancaster just to remember again that moment I ate my espresso caramel Oreo ice cream. That's right. ESPRESSO CARAMEL OREO (or maybe it was espresso Oreo caramel). It doesn't matter to me!! The combination of those flavors was insanely good and the ice cream was so creamy! The prices were one to be admired as I've never seen anything so wonderfully affordable either, ha! The shop is super cute. Walk into the front where it's a chocolate shop focusing on Stroopies. Then past the wall is a narrow hall of seating on the left with goodies supporting local artists and then the ice cream on the right. They list all the flavors in the middle when you line up and while many are regular, there were also really unique ones. I've always loved coffee ice cream so I went for this flavor that attracted me but my kids ordered a strawberry cheesecake which I also found to be premium quality in terms of its creaminess. I wish I could stay in Lancaster longer to taste all the other ice creams but for now; this place left me wanting more!

Maria S.

Yelp
Super adorable sweet shoppe with a great selection of everything from nostalgic candy great ice cream flavors and homemade chocolates...will definitely be back to try some more stuff. We had coffee oreo ice cream and cookies and cream..delish! Great little outside area too!

Doug B.

Yelp
Ice cream, stroopwafels, cookies, and more! This place has all the sweets one could ask for. We went here with our family from Ocean City MD and our nephew Alex loved it! Lots of good flavors of ice cream in a fresh waffle cone or cup, and sprinkles if you want them. The stroopies are all dipped in different types of chocolate and some are stacked up. Crazy good. Parking is a little challenging, but they have a back entrance off a small parking lot that many don't know about. We will be back! Try it you'll like it!

Jill K.

Yelp
I looked up on Yelp: ice cream and this place came up and did Not disappoint. It's an adorable sweets shop in town with super delicious ice cream. In my party we got vanilla, mint chocolate chip and my fave chocolate peanut butter. All creamy and delicious. Short line, pleasant staff. Highly recommend!!

Nick C.

Yelp
One of the best ice cream spots in the area. Great selection of rotating flavors with the option to pick up some stroop waffles while you're there. Back patio is a great spot to enjoy your dessert!

Kelly Y.

Yelp
Quaint shop in the heart of Lancaster city. The sweet smell hits you the moment you open the door. The front of the store is full of chocolates and gifts, but if you go in just a bit further you'll find an ice cream counter with a full menu of options. They make stroop waffles (look it up--simply said -- yummy), selling several varieties at the candy counter, but they also make an ice cream with stroopie pieces as part of the recipe. Actually all of their ice cream is homemade. That stroopie ice cream on a waffle cone is simply heaven. There's tables inside and a sweet patio out back.

Allison L.

Yelp
Cute quintessential sweet shop in Lancaster. Ice cream, candies and stroopies. Lovely service and generous scoops at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Diana V.

Yelp
You can smell the tempting Sweet shop a block away. Friendly service.First time tasting the Stroopie . Wow was blown away. They have a large selection of yummy chocolates. We left with a bag full of goodies. The chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was creamy and delicious.Don't leave Lancaster without stopping by.

Brent H.

Yelp
I can't believe I've been in Lancaster for a year and only now found this place. The employees were so nice and gave me an amazing recommendation. I love their mission statement and most of all, their ice cream. We will be back...soon!

David B.

Yelp
Homemade ice cream at its best with a high variety of flavor combinations. The service was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to help my wife wife find gluten free alternatives. The shop itself had a pleasant ambiance that combined old world and modern touches. Very pleasant and homey, though seating was limited.

Belal E.

Yelp
Love this place! Amazing chocolate dipped stroopies. Espresso is my favorite with peppermint being a very close second. Very cute place for a sweet treat and coffee. Cute outdoor court yard in the back too. Would definitely love to come back to try the ice cream next time.

Stephen M.

Yelp
This is a very nice Place to take care of that sweet tooth. From the moment you enter you are surrounded by chocolates and ice cream. They also have local crafts on display. The place is very big and also has searing all the way outside in the back. Looks almost like a garden. The only thing if anyone is Dairy Free there is not options. But they was kind enough to point us to a place one block away that had dairy free options. So I took my wife to get her non-Dairy ice cream and I returned to get my ice cream. I 1000% recommend this place.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
We come here at least once a month to get ice cream and have never once had a bad experience. The flavors are fantastic and the portions are hefty (but no complaints here)! My favorite ice cream flavor is the Espresso Oreo Caramel and the Mint Oreo is a close second! They also make sundaes with their stroopie pieces on top which is incredible. All around, great service, incredible ice cream and a great patio area in the back to enjoy ice cream during warmer months! Another bonus is they have fudge, candy and stroopies for sale in the front portion of the store - nothing beats buying a 5 pack of stroopies and having them for a snack with your morning coffee during the work week!

Ali K.

Yelp
Very cute shop and also very reasonably priced!! A cappuccino in the $3 range is unheard off lol. I'm not from this area so may that is why haha but not only was it affordable, it was also very good. The perfect ratio of milk foam and espresso! Added a little bit of simple syrup and it's a great cup! Very satisfied haha. Also got the mini dip ice cream. That was like $2 or something!!!! I'm not use to these prices. The mini dip ice cream is not mini, in my opinion. It was a great size. Granted, I came here after having a Nashville chicken sandwich, half a deluxe cheesesteak and some curly fries but regardless, if I am back in the area, I would stick with the mini dip. Ohh and the actual ice cream tasted yummy. I got the strawberry. It reminded me of a strawberry milkshake I use to have as a kid growing up haha great place with plenty of offerings!!! A must go!!!!

Mary Ellen G.

Yelp
Adorable shop with friendly service. Lots of sweets to choose from. You should try Stroopies. And the ice cream was great!

Caitlin B.

Yelp
Cute shop with decent candy and average ice cream. Ice cream was a bit Icey. It was still a fun place to visit.

MJ C.

Yelp
The service was very nice and the servings are huge! I got a double scoop in a waffle cone and it was perfect for my husband and I. The waffle cone was fresh! I ordered chocolate chip cookie dough which was very creamy and delicious! My favorite! The espresso Oreo caramel was also good. The coffee flavor was very strong which my husband loved!!!

Mike C.

Yelp
Really good chocolate here, in milk and dark flavors. Lots of different options, and a great spot to bring home a gift to someone!

Lauren G.

Yelp
Looking for a Mother's Day tradition for you and yours? Well. Look no further because two simple words are about to change your world. ICE CREAM. The mother load of ice cream. Taste is incredible, the customer service is amazing & the portions are generous for the price. Ice Cream is also not the only thing they sell & it's delicious. Absolutely recommend. Love it. 10 of 10!!

Matthew H.

Yelp
Lancaster Sweet Shoppe is the type of place that I wish existed everywhere. They serve ice cream and have an array of delicious baked goods, such as stroopwafels. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you have a sweet tooth like I do.

Shelbie T.

Yelp
Best ice cream in the area. The location is super convenient with plenty of street parking. They have a very adorable outdoor patio area with seating.

Jon B.

Yelp
Stopped in here for some dessert. They had lots and lots of great options. We chose ice cream and there were plenty of flavors to choose from. The portions were very generous. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend stopping by if your in the area

Joy C.

Yelp
Charming sweet shop selling ice cream, stroopwafels and other handmade treats. The service is amazing and the ladies working here are so kind and welcoming. My friend got the ice cream and we really liked the peanut butter flavor but the other ones weren't as memorable. We also tried a stroopwafel that was warm and fresh. I like stroopwafels when they're cold and crunchy but this was still delectable. There's also a really cute courtyard in the back where you can enjoy your treat and the nice weather.

Lauren M.

Yelp
First of all, this little shoppe is so freaking cute. It is clean and bright and adorable. You can buy packages of their stroopwafels, or buy one individually for a snack, or get them crumbled up atop some ice cream. They have a nice selection of ice creams, including the basics and some more adventurous options. We got mint chocolate chip and chai-stroopie, and both were amazing. There are also sundae options, as well as milkshakes. Regarding covid precautions: walking traffic was controlled in one direction, with a separate exit back to the street. Line spacing is marked on the floors. And the back patio has been arranged for safe outdoor eating.

Tiffanie T.

Yelp
Stroopwafels in PA? Say what? My cousin and I stumbled upon this place looking for ice cream and more unique flavors. This cute shop is nestled away for the hustle and bustle of down town. They have a freaking incredible business model where they employ refugees and give them a job to start along with classes to teach English. I honestly wish there were more places like this!!! When my parents came here as refugees, there were actual programs that integrated them into the American society and taught them the language. We need more local businesses like this - the world would be a better place - thank you for existing. So what they actually do is make these stroopwafel cookies fresh along with different shapes and options. They also have other sweets available as well. In the back, there is a machine where you can see the cookies being made earlier in the day. Just a note, I will preface, all the toppings they put on them and how they're dipped in chocolate/ other things, is a very American thing to do. The real ones are quite simple. If you don't know what a stroopwafel is- they're essentially waffle cookies with a caramel / honey esq in the middle that typically you put over your warm cup of tea to melt the inside and then get a gooey warm cookie to enjoy with your tea. Decor and space: 5/5: there is not that many places to sit inside but its clean and quaint. They also have a patio area to enjoy your ice cream during the day. If you got a big group say with kids, i recommend going all the way to the back into the patio. The cookies: 2.5/5 Now I will preface that I've been to Holland and that I have had freshly pressed ones made in front of me along with the grocery store ones. I honestly did not like the stroopwafel ice cream sandwich we had which they are fondly known for. I feel bad writing this but the stroopwafel we had sandwiching our ice cream in the middle was so hard, I honestly thought I'd break my teeth. We didn't really finish the cookie either sadly. I know they're not supposed to taste like that and maybe it was because it was the end of the day or something and we got old ones or they had been just laying around. But even the ones I brought home from the grocery store in Holland (it's been 6 months since I've been in Holland) still are soft....so I'm not sure if we both got terrible ones, but it marred my experience. Ice cream: 5/5 They deliver on their ice cream flavors though - my cousin got the espresso oreo caramel and I got the chai stroopie flavor. I want to come back and get the espresso oreo caramel one. Honestly those 2 were my favorite and the store even has options to buy bigger sizes of their ice cream to take home. I DEFINITELY would do this. They were delicious and fresh tasting. They really have a unique array of flavors and you girls there were kind enough to let us taste test. I highly recommend visiting the shop, getting a fresh stroopie (not the aesthetic ice cream sandwhich) hot off the press if you can, AND GET THEIR ICE CREAM!

Ryan L.

Yelp
This is the home of Stroopies in many varieties and types. There is also local chocolates and ice cream. If you are in the area, I suggest you check it out and get some sweets to go. Stroopies are some of the best stroopwafels that I've had.

Hannah W.

Yelp
One of my favorite sweet shops, pun intended, in downtown Lancaster. The front of the shop is full of Stroopies, chocolate covered goodies and sweets of all kinds. The caramels and brittle are some of my favorites there. The ice cream....oh the ice cream...there are no words. It's creamy, rich, homemade and addicting. The chunks of oreo were full chunks. I feel like most places blend their add-ins to the point of crumbs, whereas this ice cream has large than quarter size chunks. We had a few samples of some of the other flavors and it was by far the toughest decision I had to make all day :)

Ashley J.

Yelp
I love this place. Everything is made local. The atmosphere is comforting and calming. Try one of the Groff chocolates and the Stroopies.the staff is friendly and family run. Stop by!

Jessica Skylar B.

Yelp
Super great ice cream & stroopies! Cute inside and cute seating outside. Tasty treats and a great atmosphere! Would definitely recommend!

Annie H.

Yelp
This is one of my all-time favorite ice cream shops in the whole country. Just $2.50 for a "mini" (read: very sizable and bigger than a normal scoop) scoop of ridiculously creamy and rich ice cream?! Yes please! I've gotten a scoop every time I've been in Lancaster, and I've yet to be disappointed. My favorite is their espresso Oreo caramel -- perfect balance of sweetness and espresso, with giant chunks of Oreo cookie -- and I'm pretty sure I had a collective 5 whole oreos in my "mini" scoop. The chocolate dipped Stroopies are delicious and make great little presents. Plus they feature local artists and craftsmen!! Run, don't walk!!

Aimee A.

Yelp
When I lived in the city my kids and I would walk there regularly. My favorite ice cream is teaberry - they don't have it often but it is amazing!

Yasuyo T.

Yelp
Yummy ice cream. I got fresh flavor and ice cream was not sweat. The scoop is pretty big and the price is reasonable compared to ones in DC area. The shop opened pretty late which is a plus.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Super cute! The stroopies are worth a trip alone. Not only that, but the scent is just amazing. Chocolates, stroop waffles, and ice cream. What is there not to like? Staff is very nice and there is some nice seating inside for guests to enjoy their sweet treats!

Lindsay L.

Yelp
I have been to the Lancaster Sweet Shoppe a couple of times now and each time I have no complaints. The spring/summer usually has more of a line/wait and is busier. Today I went around 8:00pm and it wasn't too bad. They have marks on the floor to socially distance everyone and have hand sanitizer at the door. Immediately when you walk in it smells like Stroopies and the shop has a lot of goodies on the left side when you walk in (prepackaged Stroopies, cookies, chocolates..) and then on the right side there are assorted chocolates you can get which I will next time. There's not always someone standing there but usually if you stand in front of the area someone comes. The ice cream is towards the back and towards the very back of the shop is a sitting area. There are tables and chairs along the side wall in the shop you can sit at too. There is a good variety of ice cream flavors they have and select from. I got a single scoop of strawberry ice cream ($3.50) with whipped cream (extra $0.50). We also got chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with Stroopie bits, same price. Both were delicious and very filling. The scoops are pretty liberal in my opinion but I'm not complaining! I do recommend this place as the service was fairly quick and the treats are good.

Steven M.

Yelp
Yummy yummy yummy. Nice place to stop by and grab some ice cream. Home mad chocolate is awesome.

Renuka C.

Yelp
Delicious gluten free items, a dairy free ice cream (sorbet) option, tasty chocolates (which can be purchased individually), coffee, tea, and friendly service. Perfect!

Jessica R.

Yelp
This sweet shoppe was just that-a sweet little shoppe. Very cute with lots of delicious treats. Once you come in they have a large assortment of chocolates. The old me would buy the whole first and second row. Lots of things to choose from. I definitely saw some things I would love to try, but I came to try the ice cream which is located towards the back of the shoppe. They have a nice variety of ice creams flavors but not as large as the chocolates. We settled on two, a raspberry and strawberry cheesecake on a cone. I have to say the strawberry cheesecake didn't have a cheesecake flavor at all. Though it was tasty it lacked that taste. The raspberry was also tasty but it too lacked in raspberry flavor. Overall it wasn't bad, but I'll stick to classic flavors next time.

John W.

Yelp
Verdict: No skimping on the sweets at this shoppe. My Espresso Oreo Caramel cone had more Oreos than I've ever seen packed into ice cream. If you don't believe me, just look at the picture and imagine that same Oreo density throughout. I'm still not sure if I really liked that cookie supreme or if I wished for more ice cream because that was pretty good too. The ladies at the shoppe were very friendly and we had a nice chat. The front of the store has all kinds of chocolates. The back has all the I've cream. They must've had closer to 20 flavors in all. I like a few other Lancaster ice cream parlors a bit more but if gladly get another cone here if I were nearby.

Tracy L.

Yelp
The ice cream is good, but the Stroopwaffles are awesome when you can get them straight out of the oven. It is a very cute shop, the only real negative is that the prices are a bit high. It's a great place to go for an occasional sweet treat.

Sam S.

Yelp
Really cute sweet and coffee shop right in the heart of downtown Lancaster! Service here is amazing and everyone is very friendly. They line their walls with gifts from local artisans and amazing smelling candles. They have tons of chocolates and sweets including the hard-to-resist stroopie. They also offer ice cream from pine view dairy with flavors like Oreo and mint chip. Their coffee is delicious and they can whip you up something fun and seasonal like an autumn tea latte or a pumpkin pie latte. Very fun shop to stop in to warm up on a cold day, or to grab an ice cream cone in the summer!

Damaris V.

Yelp
Authentic Lancaster vibe Fresh ice cream and authentic Dutch cookies Clean vibrant, Full of life; Charming outdoor lighted and heated patio

Diana S.

Yelp
We stopped over to get a sweet after dinner. They have a large selection of stroppies. They are expensive, but we really enjoyed them. I also purchased their chocolate covered cherries and oranges. I tried them at home and they were also a win. We also split their chai stroppie ice cream and it was sooooo good! The layout of the store was nice, we had room to sit down and just chat. The ice cream flavor was a win and we will be back for more when the weather warms up.

Shara B.

Yelp
Some of the best ice cream I've had! Quaint setting, delicious ice cream, and friendly staff!

Jen P.

Yelp
STROOPIES! Just try them. I'm not a caramel person, but these cookies go with hot teas and coffees perfectly. I don't know how they are so good. It's magic. They also sell gift tins and stroopies dipped in chocolates. This place is very beautiful and modern. They sell a variety of delicious treats: ice cream, chocolates, stroopies, etc. The business also does good for the community. Go here for a sweet treat or a thoughtful gift. It's a real crowd pleaser.

Kristi S.

Yelp
As a Home Trained Ice Cream Connoisseur, I am always on the search for the best ice cream spots. After moving back to Lancaster County after over ten years, I have been hunting to find my favorite place and, so far, Lancaster Sweet Shoppe is the spot to go. Their ice cream is from Pine View Dairy and it is fantastic. No weird after tastes, no coated tongue from too much fat, just delicious, dense, yummy ice cream. I love their Chai flavor! I've also had their plain chocolate and it is just perfect. Very clean business and the folks working there are always very kind. Don't miss out on the cute back patio area to sit on nice days. Also, don't leave here without trying a stroop waffle. They. Are. Delicious.

Julia V.

Yelp
The food was great! It was fairly late at night when we went, so we were the only ones there. The shoppe has a unique architecture and even better food. However, the ice cream serving was large so it's good to keep that in mind. It was really good overall! Would recommend!

Regina C.

Yelp
My partner and I went here to grab something sweet after our dinner date. We grabbed two hot chocolates and a banana nut muffin. The hot chocolates were good but I was not a fan of the banana nut muffin. It was dense and more along the lines of bread rather than a sweet pastry. Customer service was ok. The ice cream might be more of their specialty.

Sarah I.

Yelp
I've never been to the physical store (maybe one day!) but we did order Stroopies as our wedding favors. I wish I could give Adrienne and the team more stars. I randomly found out about this website and started emailing regarding a bulk order for our wedding. Adrienne was very responsive and made sure everything was kept together and organized throughout the process. She separated the gluten free Stroopies from the rest and labeled all of the boxes. The stroopwafels came to us on time, in tact, and packaged properly. They were a HIT! Everyone who tried them loved them! I especially do (the gluten free chocolate was amazing)! The Stroopies were super fresh and came sealed in their package! I can't wait to continue ordering these for fun or for events. Thank you Adrienne and the team! You've made a huge fan out of me, all the way from Michigan. :)

Yelp
I've gotta admit that ice cream is still my favorite food, even though I'm basically a grown adult. That said, I'm always excited when more ice cream is brought to Lancaster. This ice cream, unless I'm mistaken, uses dairy from Pine View Dairy, a Lancaster staple where you can buy ultra fresh dairy products and pet cute baby cows. It has the local ingredients checkmark, and the shop itself is cozy, clean, inviting, and smells fantastic because of the freshly made stroopies, which are generously incorporated into various ice cream items. There's a lovely courtyard in the back where you can relax in the shade and enjoy your treat. So far, I've had their coffee, chocolate peanut butter, and chai stroopie flavors. My favorite, hands down, is the latter. It's a subtle, spicy, and interesting flavor. On the other hand, the more traditional flavors left me a little disappointed. What this ice cream really has going for it is its quality dairy. You can taste it in every bite. The added flavor (chocolate, coffee, peanut butter) comes out overpowered. For some, this might be perfect, but for me, I like an ice cream that packs a stronger punch.
