Western Australia Coral Coast Road Trip

"At Lancelin three-mile-long white sand dunes rise abruptly from the coastal scrub like a sugar bowl tipped onto shag carpet, and you can sandboard down their 45-degree face." - Kevin West Kevin West Kevin West is a writer, food consultant, and “canning evangelist” (according to NPR). It was really great to see al those dunes and suddenly apear in a totally different world like somewhere at the desert but is quite close to the ocean so the view is awesome. They is an option to ride quads around the dunes, could be exiciting, we came around 4pm and they were closing so we couldnt make it. I recommend to come little bit earlier if you want to take a ride :) I also recommend to take an antifly nets because they were everywhere.

The moment you enter the road to the dunes, you will be greeted with the mountain of sand dunes. There are counters to renting either a sand board, quad bike and tour truck. Even if you are not keen, you just need to walk towards the dunes. The sand is so fine and climbing up is a bit difficult. As you get up to the top, the view is awesome. You could see out to the Indian ocean and a 360 degree of the dunes. And when the winds pick up, sand is blow hard and you feel if you are in a real desert.

Loved the 2-seater buggy experience! Technically not that fast (max speed around 40kmh) but it FELT like you're going quick. The high-revving engine makes an exciting noise and the seat looked like taken from a GT3 racing car (I think there is a roll-cage). Drive with a friend/wife/partner and take loads of pictures... people would think you were driving a rally car going 120kmh+

Lots of fun here. We only played the sand board ($10) for 1 hr, its mostly walking up the slope and falling but its good experience. Pls bring water, balaclava would be extremely useful. Keeps sand out of your nose and mouth while you continue to experience the fun. Sand bathing shoes worked nicely. We changed just before going for sand boarding.

The white sand dunes are beautiful. However, it’s a shame that there are so many 4x4s and quads here. Sandboarding is fun, but it’s very slow and honestly, one hour is more than enough, especially if you share one board between two people. Finally, the wind in the afternoon is very unpleasant.

Beautiful place ! We got there around 5 pm near sunset. All activities are closed. No entrance fee. Can drive inside and park and take pictures anywhere.

It was great. We wanted to ride the karts but as we did not book before so we could not have a chance for it was too crowded. So we did was a skate slide on sand. It was awesome experience. Just in $10 per hour we enjoyed and had fun.

Best place!! Unlimited fun. Who dares wins, if your scared to ride, just hang on. Plenty of room, loads of dunes to explore. Highly recommend for 4x4ing, dune buggy or CF MOTO vehicles.

Yelp
their I had a nice experience but as we had to pay bond money I did pay, it's been more than a month i still haven't got my bond money back and I don't think we did any damage to their property

Yelp
This place is so surreal. It's like your own mini desert but close to the ocean. Make sure you hire boards from the local shop (you would've driven right past it, just look for signs.) It's not expensive, and two hours is ample time to be boarding there for first timers. I can't emphasize enough, this is fun. Kids can do it, adults can do it. I saw people making a day out of it, setting up their tent and barbecue with the whole family. I saw 4 wheel drives try to make it up some of the bigger mounds and ATV's having fun driving along. Some pro tips: wear your sunglasses, sand can get in your eye. Don't wear jeans, no one likes sandy jeans. Don't wear sneakers, maybe just flip flops, the same rule applies (sandy shoes). Wear light clothing, it's going to be hot. And have fun. Make sure you take pictures here, they'll come out exotic and amazing looking. This experience was unlike any other and I had a blast. When you're done here, just go straight to the Lancelin beach, to rinse off all of the sand that would've gotten stuck to you.

Yelp
These dunes are amazing. You can rent sand boards at the site and slide down the sand dunes. Must stop if you are in the area.
