Fantastic place to stay. So cozy, quirky and comfortable. We have stayed here 4 times and every time its the little touches of care that put this hotel over the top and really make it a great boutique hotel. From the welcome text messages that ask if you have any questions and requests prior to your stay or the complimentary happy hour drinks in the bar of an evening. Location is excellent. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay somewhere a little different that doesn't feel to commercial or busy.

We stayed at Lansmore Crossley Street in Little Bourke Street, Melbourne, for six nights and absolutely loved it. Our king-size room on the sixth floor was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable — the bed was heavenly! The amenities were lovely, and the whole hotel had a stylish, welcoming feel.||The staff were truly outstanding — friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond throughout our stay. We especially loved the daily happy hour from 5–6 pm with complimentary beer and wine — such a great touch.||The rooftop terrace was fantastic, and the gym and swimming pool were excellent additions. The only issue we had was with the Wi-Fi, but the staff did everything possible to resolve it, even offering us complimentary breakfast and free movies when we couldn’t use our own Netflix. Their effort and kindness made a big impression on us.||The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the CBD, close to Chinatown, theatres, trams, and shopping malls, making it super easy to get around or go out for dinner.||Everything about our stay was wonderful. The room, the service, the facilities — all five-star. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne.

I stayed in the Lancemore King Room for four nights and was very impressed by the hotel’s location, which is its greatest feature. Being within Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone made getting around the city center cost-free and easy. Flinders Station is just a 15-minute walk away, allowing convenient travel to farther areas without hassle. The King Room itself is spacious with a huge, comfortable bed and immaculate cleanliness throughout. The service was exceptional — I arrived before check-in and they kindly stored my luggage while I went out, then had it delivered to my room by the time I returned after dinner. This warm, thoughtful gesture made my stay even more pleasant. Overall, the stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Given its combination of location, service, and room quality, I will definitely choose Lancemore Crossley St. again on my next Melbourne visit.

Our first impressions when out taxi stopped outside the tiny entrance here was not good. We entered the informal check-in desk situated in the bar area which was quirky to say the least. However it works. This hotel is fabulous and amazing value for money. Rooms are small but clean, extremy confortable and well designed. The location is perfect close to the theatres and restaurants and easy walking distance to most attractions. The staff are all great. Free drinks between 5.00 and 6.00 pm helps too.|A brilliantly designed space and a perfect hotel for a tourist.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed very happy to work there which is a great sign it's a good hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and the overall ambience was lovely and unique too, with an arty feel. The location is amazing, close to trams, easy walk to many places and fantastic food right there. Amenities and cleaning were well done. Everything worked properly. Value for money was good and we will absolutely happily book again. Thank you for our lovely stay. The air-conditioning system in our room felt a bit old school and provided a good amount of white noise - this wasn't an issue for us but I can understand why some would find it difficult. I'm not sure the thermostat was really working as it never got to the temperature we thought we were setting, however this didn't cause us any problems. We liked far more than we disliked!!

The Lancemore was a lovely stay. The staff were helpful, rooms functional (comfortable bed though) and location good. We stayed two nights and it was good for what we needed. My only complaint was the noise outside. We stayed on level 4 and at night we could hear everything happening on the street. So soundproofing isn't really great. Otherwise, this little hotel is good value for money.

Disastrous Stay at Lancemore Crossley St – Unacceptable Service and Medical Negligence ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5 Stars (Avoid) My recent experience at Lancemore Crossley St was not only disappointing but genuinely distressing. For a stay that cost me $1,800, the level of service and care was absolutely unacceptable, particularly in a medical situation. Upon arrival, I was suffering from an asthma attack and desperately needed assistance to get to my room, settle, and stabilize. Instead of receiving the professional, supportive response expected of a five-star establishment, I was met with blatant refusal and judgment from the reception staff. The most crucial issue was the reception staff's complete lack of empathy and basic human support. They refused to assist me or even offer a moment of concern, choosing instead to stand back and judge the situation, making me feel unwelcome and panicked while struggling to breathe. This is not just poor customer service; it borders on negligence when a guest is clearly in medical distress. The entire interaction was predicated on a severe lack of training and human decency. After paying such a significant sum ($1,800), to be treated with such cold indifference—to be actively refused help and judged during a medical emergency—is an absolute failure of hotel management and standards. I strongly advise anyone with health considerations to avoid this hotel. When a critical situation arises, you need staff you can rely on, and the team at Lancemore Crossley St demonstrated a complete unwillingness to provide even the most basic level of care or assistance. This stay was a nightmare and a complete waste of money. The beautiful decor cannot mask this systemic failure of service and compassion.

I return regularly to Lancemore Crossley as a solo traveler when I'm in Melbourne. Lots to commend regarding comfort, location, services, the artworks and atmosphere. ||It's easy to write glowingly when all going smoothly, but really indicative that I can write glowingly when all not going smoothly. I had a 7 night stay, and wow Melbourne was throwing all the chaos around. There was a major crime incident across town ending up in the Lancemore lobby, with a street full of police. Another night all guests were evacuated for a fire alarm. And the protests at Parliament impacted traffic all around us. All were circumstances obviously outside of the hotel's control, though the team were impeccable, acting promptly and in line with procedure to ensure the safety of all guests. ||These events did however impact my stay - my time, costs, and purposes of my trip to Melbourne. For me, heading to a significant event in the clothes I grabbed in the fire evacuation rather than the special outfit I had brought for the occasion obviously pales to insignificance if our hotel had indeed been burning, but none the less was a huge disappointment. Passing through a street filled with crime response police, totally wrecked my Tuesday appointment I had specifically traveled across the country for. ||For a boutique hotel that sends lovely personal messages before arrival, I would have liked to receive some communication.|After the crime incident something like, " You may or may not be aware an event happened at our hotel yesterday. Be mindful this has placed a lot of stress on our staff, so please be kind. We are proud of our staff's response, but remember they are hotel staff. If you were impacted by the events the State Gov has trauma response staff on the streets to provide support and information.... etc "|After the fire evacuation something like, " You may or may not be aware of the fire evacuation last night. We are proud of our staff's response to get all guests and staff out quickly and safely. We also thank guests for heeding the warnings and evacuating so promptly. Luckily this proved just a warning and the evacuation was over within a short time. We hope your Friday night in Melbourne wasn't impacted too much. Obviously this incident is outside of the hotel's control, but come have a coffee with us in the lobby if you need a little heart starter."||I'm home now, and the chaos is all just a dinner party story of the madness Melbourne was, as said, throwing around! I find with each retelling I am speaking so highly of the hotel and staff. That's the important bit, so THANK YOU!
