So unbelievably disappointing. Stayed here as part of a ‘luxury stay’ and there was absolutely nothing luxurious about it. Staff polite, but facilities awful. Standard ‘Heritage’ rooms are simply shoeboxes that don’t get cleaned properly. Old seminary dorm rooms that you couldn’t swing a cat in. One of the smallest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Bathroom was filthy, no fans and unmaintained shower. Ventured to the pool and SPA facilities and couldn’t believe the state of disrepair it was in. Rust-stains everywhere and the salt-decayed columns of the pool hideous to look at. Felt dirty just being there. ||Honestly, as a well travelled person who’s stayed at 100s of hotels around the world- Lancemore Mansion Hotel, was the ultimate disappointment. Saving grace is the stunning Mansion and surrounds. They cannot charge 5-Star prices for 1-2 Star experiences. Do NOT recommend.

I had a great time here. I stayed here with my bridal party the night before my wedding. The room was clean, the beds big and comfy. The location was amazing. It was great to walk around the gardens and mansion. Hotel guests get free entry to the mansion museum. The building was also impressive with billiard tables around. I didn’t get to try Josephs or the spa unfortunately. We walked to Shadowfax winery for dinner and it was amazing. Friendly staff and check in/out was quick and easy. Breakfast was decent, plenty of options.

My partner and I came here to celebrate the one year anniversary of our first meeting - and also as a romantic location for me to propose to him. I chose the precinct passport package and we were very surprised by our complimentary room upgrade. We were placed in the newest part of the hotel (built 2000, I think). The room was very clean and well maintained and showing its age very slightly. Upon check-in and throughout our stay, the desk staff were very polite and professional (and seemed to enjoy being there). Our package also included a spa treatment - this too was fantastic with great customer service. The staff at the complementary breakfast too were professional and friendly. The breakfast itself was of a good standard and regularly refreshed by the kitchen staff. The front of house staff ensured an orderly flow of diners and maintained high standards of cleanliness. We ate at Joseph's on our second night. I found the food good, although my partner (a chef) was not happy with the presentation or quality of my meal (the steak). For me, the only areas that needed attention were in the pool area which was clean, but in need of cosmetic repairs. I highly recommend the passport package for those wishing to spend a relaxing (and romantic) weekend here. You have an included lunch at the winery (fantastic food and wine), entry to the Chirnside Mansion, a spa treatment, and entry to the Werribee Zoo. Fantastic value all round.

Disappointing Stay & Misleading Luxury Claims Having stayed at a variety of luxury hotels both in Australia and internationally, we had high expectations for Lancemore Werribee, especially given its 5-star rating and marketing as “one of the grandest hotels in Australia.” Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of these promises, leaving us disappointed and regretting our choice. The Superior room, advertised as having a King-sized bed, was actually two smaller beds pushed together, making for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. Worse, they weren’t even color-matched, which gave the room a disjointed appearance. The bed linen was stained and too small to properly cover the mattress—completely unacceptable for a luxury hotel. Our window overlooked maintenance buildings, which made for an uninspiring and unromantic view, particularly as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day. The bathroom design was one of the worst aspects. The sink was a basic metal basin, reminiscent of those found in public park toilets—completely out of place in a hotel claiming to be luxurious. The toilet seat was worn, and the advertised “modern” bath was patched up in places. The shower was positioned so awkwardly that it was barely usable. The building had visible spider webs in prominent areas, which detracted from any sense of elegance or care in maintenance. While design is subjective, we found the renovations to lack both style and sophistication, making the hotel feel anything but grand or luxurious. We also booked a Hamam and massages at the hotel’s spa, expecting a premium experience. The hotel-provided slippers were unsafe on the slippery steam room floor. I nearly fell upon entering. The hot steam jets burned my legs, causing significant discomfort. At the price charged, we should not have had to search through drawers ourselves for single-use underwear or towels. While we appreciated the hotel’s gesture of providing high tea and candles, it did not compensate for the many issues we faced. The stay did not align with the 5-star luxury experience promised, and we left feeling misled and disappointed. Significant improvements in both service and facilities are needed before we could consider recommending this hotel to others.

Spent Christmas lunch at the hotel and I would have to say how disappointed I was. The food was average and it took time for plates to be restocked. The service was atrocious, plates and empty bottles weren’t cleared away without asking, drink order forgotten, had to ask for a finger bowl to wash my hands after shelling prawns. Food was not labeled , wasn’t sure at times what we were eating and there was only broccoli and salad as accompaniments, too bad if you were vegetarian. Coffee was not included in the price, came out without sugar and a spoon, coffee is cheaper than beer and for the price of $300 per head i was shocked. I would expect better service and food overall. Wouldn’t go back.

Location was nice and staff were great. But this place isn't set up very well. They're charging 500 dollars a night plus meals and entertainment for a place with grimy showers and small rooms. Reception seemed understaffed as no one was there when we arrived. The pool heater doesn't work and they suffer from power outages. This is a place charging premium prices for Air BNB quality.
