We recently stayed here for 3 nights in September 2024. The stay was fine overall, a few things to keep in mind while booking though - if you’re travelling with large suitcases (which we did), then it’d be quite challenging to reach the accommodation due to steep elevation in slope and there are stairs to climb just to get to the main gate. Also make sure to ask which room is available- there are 3 rooms out of which room# 2 and 3 are on 2nd level and room#1 on 1st level. There’s no lift and the winding staircase is quite narrow which is not ideal for those travelling with full size luggage. The plus point is that as it is a bit further up the main street, it is a bit more peaceful and most bars/restaurants are at the start of the main street.

It is a lovely little apartment with a kitchenette, extra toilet and bathroom and a big rooftop terrace. The location is very good. Right in the center but a bit further away from the busy area. Edi the manager (owner?) was very lovely and supportive. The place was super clean. We had a lovely time there and would be happy to book it again.

We were very happy with our stay at L'Ancora. Its location is perfect – just a couple of minutes walk from bars and restaurants, but far enough away that there are no issues with noise. The communication prior to arrival was good and they booked us a parking space about 10 minutes away from the accommodation (up a steep hill, so I'd recommend packing light!). The bedroom and bathroom were both clean and nicely decorated and the air conditioning worked well. The yogurts, juice and snacks provided in the shared kitchen area were appreciated, but we were disappointed that the coffee machine was broken during our stay.

This hotel was perfect for our short stay in Riomaggiore, which I think is the nicest out of the 5 towns in Cinque Terre. The nice lady showed us to our room which is a short walk up the hill from the main restaurants and bars. It was clean and comfortable with a washing line to hang your swimwear and towels etc on after a day at the beach. There is a coffee machine located downstairs which is free to use whatever time of the day and little pastries and yoghurts you can help yourself too which is a nice gesture from the hotel. There was a cute little bottle of prosecco waiting for us when we arrived 🍾. Would definitely recommend and stay there again without a doubt.

The apartment we stayed in was a sea view room with a lovely terrace. As with most places in the Cinque Terre there are stairs..4 flights of stairs to reach the room. However it's worth the view. The location is very central, a corner away from the main street of Riomaggore. The apartment is not the most modern however it was good enough. Out of the 5 nights we stayed there a couple of days no one cleaned the room so some improvement in the service is needed. Otherwise great location and view so definitely recommend.

Overall, I loved the place. Just make sure that the last employee who leaves locks the front door properly. It has two locking options - one where ingress is blocked but egress is allowed, and another where both ingress and egress are blocked. Please make sure egress is always allowed or your guests are locked in! Other than that, the room was really charming and spacious, the bathroom was roomy and well stocked, and the location was perfect. Not in the middle of the busiest areas, but close enough to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful, and were very apologetic when resolving the locked door issue. Mistakes happen, and they got it fixed promptly. I will definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Riomaggiore.

Firstly, Riomaggiore is defiantly my favourite town of Cinque Terre, so it you are still undecided I would say this is a good choice. |Hotel is in the perfect location at the top of the road with all the restaurants ect on, might be hard work if you arnt good with hills though. It’s separate from the actual reception but a lovely lady walked us up and showed us everything. They don’t is breakfast but there’s a free coffee machine and some juice boxes and croissants for you to help yourself to, which I actually prefer. We had our own washing line which is so handy, and a fridge and safe.|Nicely and quaintly decorated, you won’t get anything modern in cinque terre.

Charming, clean small room with the toilet on a separate level. Nice view to the street. Cold minibar big plus. Would give a 5/5 if the room had a larger TV with apps like YouTube and Netflix.
