On the Grid : Land of a Thousand Hills

"Ahhhhh...coffee. What would we do without it? And Land of a Thousand Hills (LOTH as it's called by locals) is some of the best coffee around. Plus, they partner with farmers and local community leaders in Rwanda to develop the coffee into sustainable income, pay a just living wage, and strive to further meet the needs of the people. Whether you get a Rwandan Freeze or a classic cappuccino, you'll be satisfied with the flavor and that you've helped coffee farmers all the way on the other side of the world." - Nine Labs

I’ve been here twice now since it is walking distance from me and I truly love it. The workers are really nice and talkative just a very inviting environment. They are helpful with recommendations and explain everything really clearly. They offer to warm up pastries even though I forget to ask they ask which is really nice. I haven’t had the chance to try everything so far so I can only speak for the lattes and two pastries. The cinnamon coffee cake is so delicious and I don’t even like cinnamon like that which was surprising. It also looked really appetizing. I’ve tried two different flavors of lattes and they both tasted really good. I will say I get iced lattes and they are about on par with a lot of other places I like, like dancing goats. The chocolate muffin is good too a little too chocolaty for me but definitely good for someone who would inhale chocolate. The environment is nice though it was a little difficult to find the area initially since the since is a little small. The inside is very spacious and has a ton of space for anyone looking to do work, study, or chat with a friend. I learned they have individual work space areas available on a first come first serve basis. It looked really neat and something I haven’t seen before. Definitely will be coming again for a latte and pastry.

The unique name fits the architecture and vibe of Land of a Thousand Hills coffee shop. It’s a high-ceilinged shop with a big garage door window/ open bar that feels like a land far away, rather than right in midtown Atlanta. They had a lot of fun coffee options which I always appreciate. I tried some sort of berry shaken espresso, and it was BERRY good. It was strong but the berry flavor blended nicely so it wasn’t too overwhelming. What I also liked about this shop is their dedication to a good mission. Part of their proceeds go towards building a farm, I think it was, in Uganda so that residents there can sustain themselves with food they grow themselves. They sold various Ugandan made items that were really neat. This is also attached to a big apartment building- there’s are individual conference rooms you can go in, and plenty of other seating indoors and outdoors.

I liked this spot for working and hang out with friends to have a coffee. There are some books and game available as well as private office rooms and free internet. The only thing that I did not like it, was the red velvet cake. It wasn’t fresh and when I asked them, they just told me that it has been shipped to them and they even did not offered to change it. Other than that I had a matcha latte. It could be better but was fine.

This review is tough to make but I’m really irritated with the service here after my experience today. I went in here to get a latte and my boyfriend came in with a coffee cup from earlier today. Right as he scanned his card to pay for my drink, the lady decided to tell us we can’t be here with the other cup. Why she didn’t tell us BEFORE paying? I don’t know. But it seems pretty convenient for her. Anyways. I’m now sitting outside in the cold, a paying customer not even allowed to have a half empty old coffee cup. Not to mention this cup isn’t even advertising another brand. This cafe serves generic cups and so is the cup my boyfriend is holding? It’s extra and unnecessary all for mediocre coffee.

I've been here now 4 times. Each time I'm greated with the friendliest barista. One time I got here early and actually helped the nice lady set up. The coffee is very tasty. They have a cool old coffee machine and the scene is pretty cool if you sit outside.

I visited this place for the first time and had a disappointing experience. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, and the taste was awful—it was like burnt coffee with a sour note, and I couldn't have more than a few sips. The building looked new, but the floor was messy and there were fruit flies everywhere, making it hard to focus on work (you can see the flies in my photos). Additionally, I was surprised to be served my coffee in a disposable cup, which I didn't expect from a place like this. On a positive note, the staff was nice, but that alone won't bring me back. Would not recommend.

Google
Coffee shop in the ground floor of an apt building with plenty of seating. It was more of a work-oriented cafe (lots of students) but not necessarily quiet. All (or most) of the coffee blends are Rwandan bean based and roasted near Atlanta. This was one of the first drip coffees I’ve had that match their flavor profile exactly! Honestly good job to the coffee sommelier who wrote the descriptions. Would definitely come back!

One of the BEST thing about this coffee place is the working hours, All the way up to 8 pm and 10 PM every day !!! I have always said Atlanta needs more coffee places working late !!! Finally a coffee place with some brains, Congrats on that !!!

Yelp
I found this place on yelp, but it's actually inside of a apartment building so the parking was incredibly difficult. Once I got into the beautiful building, the service was great. The coffee was good and it's a great place to work. I did not try any of the pastries, but I did get my normal iced Americano with a pump of chocolate. The young lady validated my parking, but the problem at this place is the parking is through the building and in the bottom of the garage that appeared to be closed as the gates were down. But there was a green arrow indicating to go in. My Barista did validate the parking but as I left, it still asked me to pay. It took three dollars off of my credit card, which was a hassle. So if you are looking for a quick coffee shop and are walking, you are fine. I wouldn't go back driving unless I planned on sitting in and doing some work for a while.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop perfect for work and caffeine! Plenty of seating, and outlets for your computer/phone. The staff was super friendly as well. Parking - Parking here is in the Novel Midtown Atlanta Parking Garage. You will need to take an elevator from P1 or P2 to Floor 1. They validate parking so bring your ticket with you!

Yelp
I was pretty disappointed in my visit to LTH Coffee on a recent business trip to Atlanta. I was staying down the street at the Georgian Terrace and swung in here to pick up coffee and breakfast on my way. It was Monday morning around 7AM and was very quiet. I ordered a latte that was okay but not great and a glazed old -fashioned donut. I was looking forward to the donut with my coffee but rather than ask if I wanted it warmed up, they took it upon themselves to warm it, leaving it sticky and warm and unpleasant to eat. I have never had someone try to warm up a glazed baked good for me before and there is good reason - they really are not made to be warmed up! Given this disappointment, I chose other coffee shops for the remainder of my time in Atlanta, of which there are many to choose from in Midtown.

Yelp
I was staying at the Hampton Inn Midtown in November 2023 and looking for coffee options around 5pm. Checked Yelp and found this delightful spot. If you're looking for high-quality coffee in a warm, bright space, this is it. The barista was friendly and said the drip coffee had recently run out. She offered to prepare a cafe Americano instead (and charge the lower price for the drip coffee). It was superb coffee and made me a loyal customer. I'm sad that I discovered this place toward the end of my visit to Atlanta. On my next trip to midtown, I will be sure to return! The only downside is that it's a little hidden from the street (i.e., the sign is tiny).

Yelp
Amazing service we went in a day trip from Las Vegas and we desperately needed coffee my drinks were amazing and our barista Andra , was so cool and nice, I got a matcha marshmallow and a latte. Both soooo delicious.

Yelp
This coffee shop has a lot of seating options and it's not too loud so I would definitely recommend it for work or studying. They also have two areas for outdoor seating. The coffee wasn't bad either! The only downside is even though they validate parking for 2 hours, the garage is still pretty expensive at $6/ hour. Because of that I wouldn't stay the whole day.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop. Perfect for working or studying. The service was great, fast service with sweet staff. My drinks were delicious. Perfect ratios of each ingredient. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday at around 6:30, and it was empty when I arrived, so there was no wait. One thing to keep in mind is that this coffee shop shares a parking garage with Novel Midtown apartments. They do offer validation for the first two hours, but I'll admit, I had a bit of trouble finding the entrance, and there was too much traffic to turn around to find it. Thankfully, I managed to find another nearby parking deck that worked just fine. Now, let's talk about the space itself. It's spotless and the decor is beyond charming. I immediately felt at ease in this warm and inviting environment. And the barista? They were an absolute gem, friendly and attentive throughout my visit. But let's talk about the real star of the show - the Caramanilla Latte. I'll be honest, I'm not much of a coffee person. But I couldn't resist giving this latte a try, and boy am I glad I did. It was expertly crafted and packed a seriously delicious punch. While I may not return to this particular location due to the parking situation, I'm certainly open to visiting other spots in the future. Who knows, I might just find my new go-to coffee shop.

Yelp
Visiting Atlanta & stopped for a coffee while I waited for my cousin to scoop me up. I ordered the Caramanilla based on another review & it's good. The young barista was playing & singing along to Brandi Carlile. This is a nice little spot. There's a LTHC in Dallas, I'll have to check it out, too.

Yelp
Newest location of Land of A Thousand Hills. Good pastries with very basic beverages. Modern decor. Great for a quick coffee break during the work day if you work in midtown. The cashier was the barista as well. She was very nice and quick.

Yelp
Ambiance is great! Barista has the worst attitude... you've been warned! I've stopped by several times but today is the worst.

Yelp
This was a cute little coffee shop in Midtown. I stopped in here to work, and it was not crowded whatsoever. They have small cubicles enclosed door rooms that you can work. Those do fill up fast but the common area has a bunch of space and outlets. You won't have a problem finding a table to yourself. If you go during the day I had a Panini and oat milk latte. Sandwich was good, coffee was better. I'll be back!

Yelp
What a great little coffee shop. Me and my roommate came here to study (A Tuesday night) we were the only ones in here besides the Barista and the vibes and service were immaculate. Great music. The Coffee was really good... Be aware they are CASHLESS like most places these days so be mindful of that. Also be mindful of parking it is kind of difficult to find and you may have to do a loop lol. They do validate though so yay!

Yelp
Mediocre at best. Croissant was burnt and coffee was subpar. Went again hoping it was a rare mishap but still mediocre a second time
