Good location and authentic. Access to the spa and sauna at the hotel across the road was key for us. Not many people stayed in our building and the breakfast was a bit lacking.

Review for the restaurant only We had a nice dinner experience, very authentic chalet restaurant, good food but quite salty for our taste ( I believe it’s a German cultural thing - to add lots of salt in the food)

Our party of 8 greatly enjoyed staying here as our first and last night 'base'. Charming historic accommodation on the edge of the village in a very scenic rural site. It is like being on a film set for Snow White (in a good way – rustic but not kitsch).||The kind of dinner you need if you have been hiking all day served in a convivial dining Stube.||If you want something that exudes historic charm and rusticity, this is for you.

I had hoped to not post this, but the attitude of the owners has given me no choice. I do not like conflict, and I hate to post reviews like this. I had made a reservation and was very excited to come stay at this guesthouse (it is in an amazing location, obviously).||||About 3 weeks before my planned stay I was told by my doctor that I would need surgery and that the only time he could do the surgery was in the middle of my planned vacation to the Landgasthof Ruedihus. I immediately contacted the property to let them know of this change and that I would need to cancel my reservation. Again, this was 3 weeks before my planned stay. They would have had more than enough time to have someone else book the room that I had reserved. They flat out refused my cancellation request, saying that I would be required to pay the full amount as I had agreed in my initial reservation. No room for negotiation, no empathy, just a “nope, sorry about your situation, better luck next time.”||||I fully understand charging the full amount when a person cancels on the day they were supposed to arrive (as the property would have no time to allow someone else to book the reserved room), but this notice was provided 3 weeks in advance. Most hotels and guest houses that have ethical owners would have no issue not charging, thus I was taken aback by their rude and unprofessional approach to my very reasonable medical cancellation.||||It is clear that the owners of this property do not care about the medical wellbeing of their potential clients. As they do not care about the wellbeing of their customers, I would highly recommend not staying here, regardless of how beautiful the scenery around the location is. Unprofessional property owners like this give other owners a bad name. It’s very unfortunate and surprising to be treated this way.||||I highly recommend steering well clear of this location. My family and I are deeply hurt by this whole experience. Find some alternative lodging where the owners have a reasonable outlook and will not force you to pay them for cancelling nearly a month in advance if a medical emergency comes up.

We stayed here and ate here. The hotel building itself is beautiful and charming, with inscriptions carved into the face, and a well manicured herb garden in front. The restaurant is in an intimate tavern-like setting and it’s so charming! Food was so hearty and delicious. The rooms are bright and airy, and quite well renovated. Slept so well. It’s in the most romantic setting with a view of mountains and waterfall in the background. Staff were professional and friendly. Overall highly recommend.

We ate dinner here. It is a lovely space, really interesting building and would be a cool place to stay. However, our dining experience wasn’t the best. Expensive and disappointing fondue (can’t comment on other dishes but definitely not the best fondue we had in Switzerland). Service could have been a lot better (it was busy but felt a bit forgotten about). These things happen sometimes so it probably isn’t the same every time!

The Landgasthof Ruedihus is one of the Swiss historic hotels and it is very worth a stay to enjoy this gorgeous old wood building. It is great to just walk around and discover every nook and detail.|Their partner hotel, the Hotel Doldenhorn which is only a five minute walk away is probably a more comfortable option for a long stay with spa facilities and more services although those are widely also available for the Ruedihus guests. Breakfast in low season may also be served at the Doldenhorn which is a bit of a hassle but the breakfast is such a lavish affair, it is definitely worth the effort. Coffee machines may be a useful addition to the rooms at the Ruedihus. |The on-site restaurant specializes in Swiss dishes and is also super atmospheric with low ceilings and wooden furnitures. Would definitely try it on a next visit.

It's a lovely romantic hotel, very authentic traditional Swiss style, it really feels like a journey into the past times :) The dinner was totally delicious and rich, the rosé wine was very nice, and we had the best raclette ever! We were happy with this unusual historical hotel, the cozy garden and fine dining experience!
