Landgoed Hotel-Restaurant Groot Warnsborn

My son and daughter in law got married here last Thursday. The setting is a beautiful combination of forest and manicured gardens. We stayed in the coach house rooms. The rooms had lovely beds with heavy smooth sheets and fluffy pillows. My room had a bathroom with shower and a big gorgeous bathtub. It also had plenty of space with a little living room, fireplace, refrigerator, and private outdoor terrace. All the food we had there was delicious, both in the hotel dining room and at the wedding. The staff was extremely kind and friendly to us, and made their best effort to make our stay pleasant. They prepared a delicious vegetarian rehearsal dinner, with several wines and explained the food and wine choices to us. I cannot emphasize enough how kind the staff is, how beautiful the surroundings are, and how good the food is. There seemed to be a lot of people hiking in the area, but as we were only there for 2 nights, we were mostly dedicated to the wedding festivities. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making the wedding and our stay a truly memorable occasion.

Excellent hotel in lovely grounds. Very quiet (we had a room in the loft!). Very friendly welcome and very good food (we had bar snacks, breakfast and lunch). Nice terrace at the front of the hotel for dining in good weather.

What an amazing and beautiful place! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and the hotel and grounds are very clean and well looked after and maintained. Staff is fantastic; very helpful, friendly and pleasant. The surroundings are very pretty, too. Great for walks and bike rides.

We stayed only one night - one Comfort room and one Luxury room at the coach house - but it was lovely. We had a 3-course set dinner (it might be a bit of a push for children) paired with wine in two of the courses. It was lovely. |Rooms are comfortable and cosy, with medium sized, simple but cute bathrooms.|The hotel rooms acoustics aren’t amazing - or maybe guests coming in late in the night could have been more considerate. We were awakened twice by loud steps and voices coming into the building. |Breakfast was fine. |There’s many parking spaces outside but only 2 vehicle charging stations.

The location is beautiful. Super that you can just walk into the woods with several well marked routes. Ample spacious free self parking. The building is very nice. The rooms are rustic and have character. The miss parts are details that lessen the feeling of luxury and bring the value for money ratio out of sync.

We found this little gem by chance during the Christmas period during a long haul to Denmark. Amazing Christmas decorations in and outside the hotel. We got a suite the first night. Room 14 is vast and I definitely recommend it. Hotel is family owned, and we had a chance to speak with the owners. Very kind family, making people feel welcomed. The hotel is in the middle of a massive ground, with trees and bushes which is impressive. they have a large covered heated terrace where you can sit, smoke a cigar and order food. We loved it so much that we decided to stop again ok the way back after our trip for a second night. The staff included us in a private group Christmas celebrations and we even received a gift! Food is great, and lots of history attached to the place: Anne Frank had a stay in the hotel, though the whole hotel caught fire during the war: the Germans soldiers had a big party and managed to burn the whole building. If you want a piece of tranquility in a serene place, supporting a honest private business with lovely people around, and if like me you like smoking a pipe or cigar, you should visit this place. I will come back, probably in summer to see how different it looks.

We stayed here for four nights combining bicycle touring and seeing friends. ||The hotel has a secure place to leave bicycles and plenty to borrow too. It's a short cycle from Arnhem (hilly for the Netherlands and a short section is in the dark forest with no street lighting). It's a short cycle to Hoge Veluwe and Veluwezoom national parks which are excellent for cycling and hiking. There are hikes in the forest the hotel lies in, and it is a beautiful setting.||The staff were so friendly and welcoming and really helpful with practical arrangements. |Our room (8) was clean and comfortable and very spacious with a lovely view of the garden. The bathroom was in the room (toilet separate). ||Dinner is amazing here - we had the La Belle Source menu twice and the brassiere once. They catered well for vegetarians and the matching wines were well chosen by a friendly and experienced sommelier. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. Breakfast was ok - it's all buffet and it huge choice is a little underwhelming after such good dinners and got very busy at times. This was the only disappointment we had with this lovely hotel.||Overall a great stay, good value for money and we would highly recommend it to others.

While biking wanted to stop here for a cup of tea. Not welcome. Only for people overnighting. Rather disappointing.
