Landhotel Sonneck

We visit this restaurant every time we come to the Blackforest and it’s consistently good. Great German food, good service and good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean, neat, and sweet place to stay. The breakfast was good. The building itself was lovely with cute decorations. It reminded me of some nostalgic movies and animies. The only thing that is worth 1 negative star is the breakfast timing and the pillows. Breakfast is at 8-10 hrs. Probably it suits the families with little children but not the people who are there for hiking or exploring the area. Due to holidays and closed shops, one can not miss the BF at the hotel easily. I read about it on its booking.com profile, and the hotel messages sent there, that it could be adjusted based on the guests' request there, but that wasn't the case. Moreover, we both were struggling with the pillows overnight, which made the sleep unpleasant. The big ones are quite uncomfortable and loose.

I recently stayed in Apartment 4.3, which was clean and comfortable. However, the room was located in a different building from the main hotel and reception, which made things a bit inconvenient. When it was time to check out, I handed the key to a cleaner, who assured me that I was free to leave. To my surprise, I later received an email from the hotel stating that I was being charged an additional 5% of the total cost of my stay because I didn't check out at the reception. At no point during my stay was I informed that I needed to go to the reception to check out, and the cleaner’s instructions led me to believe that I had fulfilled all checkout requirements. I find this additional charge unfair and disappointing, especially considering that I followed the instructions given by the hotel staff. While the accommodation itself was satisfactory, this experience has left a negative impression. Clear communication regarding checkout procedures would have prevented this issue. I hope the hotel considers addressing this to improve future guest experiences.

This was the second time that we have stayed in The Landhotel Sonneck. This time we opted for a studio within the main house with half board. The studio was perfect for the 4 of us - plenty of room, clean with modern facilities. The breakfast was great, there was a lovely selection each morning served with a smile and the evening meals were also delicious. The children's menu gave a great choice and the 4 course meal each evening was great value for money as well as being always delicious and beautifully cooked. We will be returning next year!

Sweet little hotel which has a unique mix between folklore kitsch and modern/pure style. The staff was lovely and the attention brought to our dogs (blanket, bowls and a snack put at their disposal) was great. The location is ideal to discover the Hochschwarzwald. The restaurant/breakfast is really good and we appreciated particularly the little glass bottles and bowls on the breakfast buffet, limiting plastic wherever possible.

This is our second stay here...Hotel is absolutely immaculately clean and comfortable. The rooms are very spacious, ours had a huge private balcony. The owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. The meals are never a disappointment....delicious!!! Hotel location is great for sightseeing in the area and surrounding towns. We will definitely return for a third stay!

We ended up at this gorgeous little place purely by chance and we couldn't have been happier! We don't speak German very well but the lovely host spoke quite good English and went out of her way to try to help us, she even found us an English menu for the restaurant which we were very grateful for! The food was absolutely amazing, the setting just beautiful and the room very comfortable. We are very fond of this little gem and hope to visit again in the future.

We stayed for two nights with two friends in June while on a motorcycling trip. After a very long day riding from Austria it was great to find big clean rooms and a great modern bathroom. The food at the hotel was excellent as where the breakfasts. This family run hotel was a great place to stay unfortunately we could only stay two nights. We never did find any Black Forest Gateau in the Schwartzwald but there is always a next time. Oh and English is spoken which was a bonus as my German is non existent.||||The hotel is close to Schluchsee where you can take the ferry around the lake free if you have the local card, and not far from Titisee.
