I recently stayed in Apartment 4.3, which was clean and comfortable. However, the room was located in a different building from the main hotel and reception, which made things a bit inconvenient.
When it was time to check out, I handed the key to a cleaner, who assured me that I was free to leave. To my surprise, I later received an email from the hotel stating that I was being charged an additional 5% of the total cost of my stay because I didn't check out at the reception.
At no point during my stay was I informed that I needed to go to the reception to check out, and the cleaner’s instructions led me to believe that I had fulfilled all checkout requirements. I find this additional charge unfair and disappointing, especially considering that I followed the instructions given by the hotel staff.
While the accommodation itself was satisfactory, this experience has left a negative impression. Clear communication regarding checkout procedures would have prevented this issue. I hope the hotel considers addressing this to improve future guest experiences.
