Switzerland LGBTQ+ Travel Guide: I've Visited 10 Times — and These Are the Best Spots for LGBTQ+ Travelers

"Just past 11 p.m., flickering stage lights lit up a rainbow of colors in the crowd at Zurich’s lakeside Landiwiese park. Guys in tank tops and plenty of colorful wigs swirl about, with more than a few rainbow flags waving in the distance. Switzerland’s recently crowned Eurovision winner, the 24-year-old Nemo, who recently came out as nonbinary, walked out on stage to a thousand shrieks and cheers. In a long, pleated skirt and a pink, fluffy hat, Nemo’s funky fashion matched the fun atmosphere at Zurich’s pride festival." - Adam Groffman Adam Groffman Adam Groffman is an award-winning writer, editor, and marketer. "The Swiss National Circus on the Shores of Lake Zurich The Circus Knie, Switzerland’s national circus, comes to town annually in the spring, setting up on the Landiwiese along the left bank of the shores of Lake Zurich . Always a big hit: the nimble artists of the Hebei Wuqiao acrobatics troupe. Photo © Katja Stuppia/Circus Knie."

Landiwiese is a great place for all sorts of occasions. There are so many different events happening throughout the year, it's hard not to find something that interests you. It's a great place for a day out with friends, the theater festival in summer is always great, and I can't say enough about the barbecues and picnics! The place is beautiful and spacious, so you always have plenty of room for everyone.

was in Zurich for a 7 hour transit and decided to take a walk over purely based off internet recommendations. I was there pretty early in the morning, at about 9am and the place was quiet and peaceful with a handful of children and joggers. no events happening when I was there, just a wonderful view and lil duckies. a swan was hanging out in the area with a bunch of ravens too. I didn’t explore much beyond the immediate vicinity of the lake but the walk over was lovely and so was the park. pictures of birds, views and a statue attached. also this adorable cat that was just outside the underpass. i don’t know who your mom/dad is but you made my day, thank you.

Nice open air park on the bank of the Zurich lake. Great place for chilling, playing some sports or swim in the lake. Dogs are also welcomed.

Favorite spot at the lake, close to station, tram stop, shop, petrol station, easy access to water both for swimming and sup, close to rite fabrik and spacious park.
