Wellnesshotel Oswald (Kaikenried, Bavaria) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The titular family behind the Wellnesshotel Oswald have their roots in butchery and inkeeping, both of which are in ample evidence at this flagship property on the main drag of Kaikenried, Germany. As the name suggests, full-body relaxation is the name of the game — the maximalist spa spans all manner of pools, saunas, and treatment rooms, while the on-site butcher shop and beer garden emphasize indulgence. Cozy rooms come with oceans of natural wood and furnished balconies." - Tablet Hotels

This is one of the best wellness hotel my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting. We stayed there for my birthday weekend for two nights over the weekend and loved it. We had a very spacious room with jacuzzi and beautiful view of the pool area. The rooms were cleaned and beautifully equipped. The spa area is a little small but very clean. At the moment the hotel is extending it's wellness area, which will be finalized by the end of this year. This will add more saunas to the mix. The food is absolutely delicious and the dinner area is beautiful. We enjoyed the 6 course dinner every night and the breakfast buffet. My highlight was the dessert buffet that they hosted one night. I literally rolled out of the restaurant :) All in all this place is beautiful and made for relaxation. We will definitely come back and recommend you to do so too.

We spent 5 beautiful days at this Hotel. And we were not disappointed. The reception staff was welcoming and very helpful. Thank you, Lea. Turned out that she hailed from Lower Franconia as we did. This was quite a surprise. Check-in went smoothly. After a quick lunch, we decided to head to the pool area for our first relaxation. There's a jacuzzi alongside the pool. There is also a bar/snack bar. Plenty of sunshades w/ lounge beds and chairs. There is an indoor & outdoor pool. I will now list the different pros & cons:||||Pros: ||||* Large indoor dining room.||* Outdoor dining room ( recommend you make a reservation if it's too hot outside).||* Super Omelet eggs with bacon !! Loved it.||* The dining room staff was awesome. I wish to thank Johannes ( we had met him some years earlier at a different hotel different location), Mimi, and Werner for their customer care. They were always attentive to our needs.||* The bar was very spacious and accomodating. Thank you, Vaclav. You make a great "Mojito". Being originally from the Caribbean, I was impressed.||* Parkhaus area was very spacious. ||||Cons:||||* They should have Vegan food options.||* Our room faced the front of the hotel. This was fine. We had a view of a valley and mountains.||* The church bells toll hour on the hour even throughout the night. Very loud. I've lived in Germany for 33 years & I've seen towns/villages that prohibit these bells from midnight until 6:00 AM.||* There is a sort of German Kneipe near the hotel which was visible from our balcony. They were very, very loud on the weekends until a little after midnight.||* Wi-fi... it's good but not too strong. ||||Overall, we loved it here. We plan to return someday for sure. Thank you.

Two nights as wedding anniversary treat have been perfect! The location is not too far from the next bigger city and Highway, so okay to reach - in an wonderful forest area (we just had rainy days). No problem due to the great pool, sauna and wellness area. Room was perfect and big with a great view, a lot of wooden walls all over. Best overall was the fine dine menu at dinner time, and lunch, and breakfast!!! We did have a great time, the service was excellent and very friendly. Prices are hihg as expected for this kind of service offering.

Beautiful hotel, the food is exceptional, service is excellent, cocktails are also excellent, great for summer and winter, Spa area is very nice, yet not so big, our room was very quiet and beautifully decorated, many outdoor activities are possible, the location and surroundings are great

Spa Hotel in a modernized rustic style. Efficient service, good restaurant and good breakfast. The room I had was very nice, huge TV and very clean. The little balcony was great. No air condition though, during my stay with high outside temperatures it was quite warm. The staff at reception was really efficient, check in / out was all prepared and very fast.

We only had time to spend one night at Hotel Oswald which turned out to be unfortunate. There isn’t a single thing that I could find fault with. We did not avail ourselves of any spa treatments so in that one area I should not comment, however, in every other way the hotel excelled.||Every staff member we encountered was friendly gracious and efficient. The food at each meal was outstanding. The building was immaculately clean with a cosy but not fussy country house vibe.||With indoor and outdoor pools and a large elevated sun lounging area (views for more than 50 kilometres) adjacent to steam, sauna and treatment rooms the hotel should more than satisfy in this regard.||The location near the Czech and Austrian boarders is a bit remote but you are rewarded with fresh air and quiet, only broken by the village church bells.||One of the most pleasant stays I’ve had in years!

We had a very relaxing weekend there. The spa area is one of the best I have experienced and the food is local and great. The standard rooms are not as great as the rest of the hotel and on summer would be great to have air conditioner but for sure we will come back on winter time when we believe you can take the most of the facilities.

One of the best wellness hotels in the Bavarian Forest. Excellent cuisine, everything very well presented. A very good wine selection, as well as good beers from Bavaria. Very good wellness area, with a beautiful swimming pool, and an even more beautiful outdoor pool, plus Jakuzi in the open. Wonderful rooms, especially the pine rooms. Very good service. Top address.
