The location was absolutely incredible — walking distance to the Canton Fair Expo Centre and just steps away from a mall with Starbucks, Subway, and Hey Tea (which was amazing). I would *highly recommend* this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
We had a suite room and it was next level: spacious layout, double basins, a huge shower, automatic curtains — truly a world-class setup. The overall experience felt premium.
One standout was *Nikki* — what an incredible staff member! Friendly, helpful, smart, and attentive. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She is a true asset to the brand and deserves recognition and promotion.
However, the rest of the staff unfortunately did not match the same level. Many lacked basic customer service skills, attentiveness, and effective communication — especially in English. Compared to previous stays at the Shangri-La in Guangzhou, where nearly all staff are fluent in English and service is consistently high, The Langham falls short in this regard.
If The Langham aims to be the best or maintain a five-star standard, serious improvement is needed in:
- Staff training
- English communication
- Customer attention & responsiveness
- Problem-solving ability on the spot
The hotel has everything going for it — modern rooms, great location, and excellent facilities — but service consistency must improve to truly compete at the top level.
