Långholmen Hostel

I visited that lovely place on 13/02/25 . I must say it was very positive visit . I was together with my partner and our 1 year old son. Upon arrival we were shown parking space and nice lady on reception let us check in about 2 hours to early. We stayed in room one which was also very nice , however i must add that if you are about 190cm tall , you will have a bit of trouble coming in and out of a cell , and while sleeping you touch walls with your head and feet in same time , but well it an old cell. Also the wireless chargers in the room didnt work , at least with iphone .In restaurant we have ordered a raggmunk which was very good and a cesar salad which was good , but in my taste would be better with roman salad a bot more dijon mustard and lemon in the dressing . I was amazed how good the brekfest was . Many options . Lovely fresh baguettes ,nicely cooked scrambled eggs and overall lot of nice cheeses,vegetables and juices . The service was great ! I strongly reccomend and will surely visit again

Tolle Jugendherberge, ein ehemaliges Gefängnis. Jedes Zimmer hat zwei Betten und ein eigenes kleines Bad mit Dusche, WC und Waschbecken. Ein Frühstück gibt es gegen Aufpreis im angrenzenden Hotel. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und lecker und enthält nicht nur schwedisches Brot sondern auch deutsche Brötchen. Im Sommer muss man unbedingt reservieren. Wenm man gut zu Fuß ist, kann man auch ins Zentrum laufen. Der Weg dahin führt am Wasser entlang. Trotz der zentralen Lage ist die JuHe ruhig gelegen. Ob es WLAN gibt weiß ich leider nicht mehr. Ich war in allen Jahrzehnten dort, zu Fuß, mit Auto und Motorrad, alleine, mit Freunden und Familie. Ich wurde nie enttäuscht.

Außergewöhnlich! Man schläft in ehemaligen Gefängniszellen. Personal superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Gerne wieder.

Coming here in October wasn't the best time for the hotel or Stockholm, but I nonetheless had a pleasant stay. First of all, the building. It is incredibly unique for a hotel and was also the first time I have ever entered a previous (or existing) prison. The format of the rooms, completely embodying the previous prison, was really cool. The only downside that resulted from this was the room size. They were a little small, and the desk wasn't a complete rectangle, and a little impractical. The bed, however, was comfortable, with enough space, and everything was clean. I can't complain that much about the space, because I chose the cheapest option, but it was smaller than what I was expecting. As for the location, it is not bad. Its island had next to nothing to do. There is a football field nearby, but I am unsure whether that is available for public use. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is actually very good and had a great lunch special when I went there (169 SEK). In order to get to central Stockholm, I took the electric scooters that are scattered nearby, which took me around 15 minutes, and was very cheap. There are plentiful restaurants nearby, as well as a gym where you can get day passes (only in person). I did not make it to the museum, so I cannot comment. The breakfast was less than thrilling. The eggs I had (which was my biggest complaint) were very runny, but also laden with butter, so they were super heavy. Not the way you're supposed to make eggs. The rest of the food wasn't bad and had a pretty good variety.

My family of 4 stayed here and loved it. We had the Hostel room w/ 2 bunk beds, located in the middle of the museum area. The shared bathrooms were very close, and extremely clean. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I recommend splurging for the breakfast - it was a terrific, healthy spread. The beach is just outside the entrance. The walk to the subway is approx 10 minutes. Yummy, inexpensive, kid-friendly meals available at the nearby kayak rental, and the pizza place on the way to the subway station.

A great hostel located in an old prison. It's obviously been renovated since, but it's hard to miss what it once was. The rooms we stayed in were actually converted cells. While they may be on the small side, they more than make up for that in atmosphere.

I really loved this hotel. Yes it was a former prison and yes the rooms are the size of a cell. The people that work here go out of their way to make you comfortable and for a foreigner I depend on them for a few things, speak English and help me navigate this beautiful country. Which they all did. Let's not forget the wonderful breakfast every morning. These rooms are small. But get past that to all room here are small. But the service is outstanding.
