Great historic hotel. Location is perfect. Parking free. The rooms are spacious and traditionally appointed with appropriate decor. The antique lift is a luxury to be experienced. Our balcony views of Mt. Blanc in the moon light and with our morning coffees were spectacular to say the least. The front desk manager Valeria from Argentina was happy, helpful and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would not for a second hesitate to recommend to all family and friends. Thanks to everyone who made our stay memorable.

A Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Chamonix! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an incredible stay at Hotel Gustavia! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful, always going the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better—right near the center of town and just steps from the station, making it ideal for exploring Chamonix and getting to the slopes with ease. Our rooms were comfortable, beautifully decorated, and provided the perfect retreat after a long day outdoors. The food was another highlight—healthy and hearty breakfast options that set us up perfectly for a day on the slopes. A special shoutout to the hotel bar, Chamber 9, which became a firm favorite, especially among the 20-somethings in our group. The lively atmosphere, great drinks, and friendly vibe made it a great spot to unwind. New Year’s Eve was the absolute highlight—amazing food, a fantastic atmosphere, and a celebration we’ll never forget! Thank you, Hotel Gustavia, for a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Best hotel to stay in Chamonix, it’s just outside the train station, very near to mountains and amazing view to the mountains and accessibility to everything. The staff is amazing; went outside their comfort zone to serve us with everything we needed. Don’t think of anything but just book this hotel and experience amazing service

Beautiful hotel at a great location. It’s situated just next to the busy streets so everything is close by but not so loud when you want to sleep. We got a free upgrade to a bigger room with a balcony with a stunning view of the Mont Blanc. Breakfast was also great!

Its a beutiful building on the main streets of Chamonix. Thats where the positive stops, Im afraid. We were a few friends, living in different rooms, the one worse than the other. ||||In general the building smelled like paint and since one of the levels was closed, its safe to asume where it came from. The renovation seemed to happen in strange hours though, so it disturbed in the evenings. I have never been to a hotel with this bad lightening, ever. Its dark, everywhere, and especially in the rooms. We barely saw what clothes we took on, that says enough. One of the rooms were so small we did not even have space to open the suitcase and unpack. But, there were nowhere to put our things anyway. Actually really bad space for hanging clothes, putting things overall and yeah, its difficult to stay in these rooms. The bathroom, also minimal and quite unhygenic. Its in need of renovation. The showerdoor did not stop the water, leeding to a pool on the floor after every shower. And who the f*** still have a glasswall and sliding doors ?! Thats the room which actually had a showerdoor, the other shower was wide open. And lacked the complemantary shampoo. (Which was also used as soap). The heating is of, in different ways through out the building. ||||There is no skiroom as I know it, instead there is a small shed on the yard to put the skis. It smells nasty and has no organisation or heating to dry your gear. A yoke. ||||They have afterski in the building, every day. This is disturbing all over the building but if you are unlucky you will get a room right above and can not count on beeing able to sleep. ||||The location is not bad, but it is quite a walk to all the skibusses. ||||We hade the halfboard package and apart from unexperienced staff and doubtful service, the food were actually surprisingly good. The breakfast however was varied depending on day and time. The cheese could have dried, there was enough bread and things like it. ||||So as you have understood at this point, we were all very dissapointed and critical towards this place. Too bad, the building has more to offer.
