We had the best time at Langmeil Winery. Bec gave us all the information when we were the first people there at 10 am to look at the oldest Grapevine but then decided to come back and just share a glass of wine in the afternoon and look out over their beautiful winery. I would highly recommend this winery to anyone who was visiting the Barossa Valley.

The tastiest wines we had during our Barossa visit and view to beautiful garden while enjoying the wine. We felt we’re welcomed and we enjoyed the experience. Thank you!

Typically I am not writing recensions neither if it is good or bad. However in exceptional cases, I can‘t resist. Today, we had such a nice wine tasting experience at Langweil Winery in Tanunda. We got a really warm welcome from the staff. The wines are all very tasty and of highest quality. Even if a wine is not perfectly yours, you can smell and taste the extraordinary quality and passion. The two ladies who served the wines were super friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the wines and also shared their personal preferences with us. To summarise: Best choice in Barossa, you won’t regret. Since it wasn’t our first wine tasting in Barossa, we have comparisons and will not forget the friendliness and hospitality at Langmeil’s.

Hands down the best Cellar Door in Tanunda, perhaps even the whole Barossa. Really super friendly cellar door staff who knew their stuff but not spouting over the top descriptions of the wine. Nice tasting sizes and hurray No tasting charges! The open fire was warm and so inviting. Keep up the great work Langmeil!

Langmeil winery is simply excellent. We couldn’t recommend this winery more! Great historic winery, beautiful garden and cosy wine cellar with a fire pit. Large wine selection, excellent variety of reds (our favourites)! Bec was bubbly and very knowledgeable about each wine and the history of the vineyard. Unfortunately i didn’t take photos apart from one as I was too busy enjoying the experience. The cellar might offer food platters on weekends. Highly recommended!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to South Australia. Such a stunning winery with a relaxed and cosy vibe. We were able to enjoy our complimentary wines outside on the benches while admiring the rustic farmstead. The service was impeccable and the facilities like the toilets were also very clean. Can't wait to visit again and take some more bottles home with us. 😄

We only stopped in for a little visit and found the place so beautiful and charming. We had an old school wine tasting (not charged a fee). The woman who served us was very knowledgeable and great to chat with. Went home with Rose and reisling.

A stand out Barossa favourite - and for good reason! Have visited this beautiful cellar door many times, and it never disappoints. The stellar wine line up speaks for itself, and the staff are incredibly knowledgable and kind. Special thanks to Leonora & Bec for making our latest visit so exceptional!!

Yelp
Lovely grounds and relaxed tasting experience. They let you sit inside or outside for tasting. If outside you have to come back in on your own for your next pour. No charge for tasting when we were there and Leonora took care of us well. They have a sparkling Shiraz we had never heard of before that was quite tasty. They poured their super high end wine and we bought a bottle!!!

Yelp
Although we didn't find any standout wines to purchase here, the experience was low-key, friendly, and enjoyable (and free!), and there were a variety of wines to try, all pretty decent.

Yelp
So many positives about this place. The setting is beautiful, with old cottages, vineyards and manicured gardens. It is conveniently located in the north of Tanunda and we walked here from our hotel. The staff could not have been more welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly and gave us incredible service. The range of wines are very tasty (although we only tried the reds). Definitely worth a stop. We'll be back!

Yelp
Some wineries you get to try a couple of their list, maybe even more every now and again. At Langmeil you can try 16+ of their delicious wines, all for freesies* Personally, their bigger wines - Cab Sauvs and Shiraz - are not the best Barossa has to offer, but where Langmeil really kick their goals are in the lighter varietals. Their Barbera, Grenache, Tannat are all exceptional - the highlight being the Three Gardens SMG blend that really showcases their strength (and for a total bargain price too). I'm not the world's biggest port fan, but those in our party that were swooned at their Tawny. Staff were super nice even though they were busy at times juggling different groups. Been to the Barossa a heap and almost ashamed that this was my first time here - will be back soon for sure. * Of course you'll leave with a bottle or 12

Yelp
This is as good as it gets in the Barossa. We had a fantastic stop at Langmeil on our day-long wine tour through the region. Wine tasting in Aus is so different from home (Napa Valley), in that the wineries want you to taste all they have to offer. Unlike California where you may try one red, one white, and one bubbly, all for a hefty fee, the Barossa tastings are free of charge, though you are strongly encouraged to purchase...which is easy since the wines are so delicious! Between three of us, we were able to cover most of their entire offering. Fantastic! Walked away with a couple bottles of the Valley Floor Shiraz, a Sparkling Shiraz (a first for me!), a Sweet Shiraz (very similar to a Vin Santo) and a Semillion. Can you tell I'm an Australian Shiraz fan? They also boast the oldest Shiraz grapes in the world! A must-taste in the Barossa.

Yelp
This is not the first time I've visited Langmeil winery, and I certainly hope it won't be the last! This place has a great rustic charm about it. Surrounded by the Northern end of the township of Tanunda on one side, and sweeping vines and the North Para river on the other, this family run vineyard and cellar door are an absolute must if you visit the Barossa Valley. Check the website for a more detailed, professional rundown on the wines. I will just say that I enjoyed all of the wines we tasted, in particular the Orphan Bank Shiraz. The Freedom shiraz is not available for tasting - although if it were accidentally poured into one's glass, one could be forgiven for keeling over in joy. It is *allegedly* spectacular. They have a great display around the cellar door with details of the past and present, and if you ask one of the lovely ladies behind the bar about the history of the place, I'm sure you'll get a great story (or two!), as we did. There is also some artwork up for sale, and the day we were there they had cheese boxes available for the famished traveler. The fireplace going on a cold-ish day is also a very enticing spot to relax and taste some of SA's best. Please, visit Langmeil if you get a chance. It is well worth a look!

Yelp
When people asked why I decided to make Adelaide part of my epic journey around Australia, I often reply with one word: Barossa. Langmeil was a great part of my tasting day in this lovely part of SA. I can recommend one particular bottle which traveled with me from SA to WA, to NT, to QLD, to TAZ, and to NSW before coming home to the US. That's how much I liked it - the Three Gardens SMG. It has this delicious peppery taste (part of which comes from blending three grapes) that I just really wanted my friends back home to taste. Also, the staff here is absolutely a riot and a great time. Don't miss.

Yelp
We toured thirteen Barossa Valley wineries over two and a half days. None served bad wine. I rated them on the quality of the wines, the breadth of selection, the setting of the winery (outside views and/or inside decor), and service. Note that sometimes service can be a function of how busy they were. This winery rated 8th of the 13. On a five point scale, they were: Wine Quality - 5 Wine Selection - 4 Setting - 2 Service - 3 I bought their Valley Floor Shiraz.

Yelp
This was a lovely lovely winery, thankfully when I was here I didn't have too many wines! One woman in particular, I'll call her 'T'... was our hostess with the mostess and she made it the most enjoyable experience. She is her weight in gold and more!! Thank you for being an experience yourself T, from Abi from Melbourne

Yelp
We arrived with a large bus tour & thought our hopes for a quiet tasting were dashed, we were wrong! Lyns hospitality at the cellar door made us feel like we were valued customers, we purchased a Sangiovese & we will definitely be back & seek out their Shiraz at a stockist asap!
