I cannot praise this venue enough! From start to finish they were everything you could want from a wedding venue. Sean, Louise and the whole team were so accommodating, so good at responding to my many queries and so helpful in every way. Planning a wedding from overseas I thought would be so stressful but they took care of everything and the whole day went seamlessly, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all so friendly too which was lovely. The venue is stunning with so many different areas that you almost forget it’s all taking place in the one venue and the areas are all so stunning you need to add very little. And the food, guests are still talking about it. So so happy with our decision and I can’t imagine our day having taken place anywhere else. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also, I don’t know if it’s the done thing to talk about price but I found Langtons was so reasonable compared to other venues we looked at which wasn’t really a deciding factor but didn’t hurt. They were flexible with package inclusions to make sure we weren’t paying for things we didn’t need to and were honest and transparent from the start. In an industry that often feels like you’re being taken for a ride, I feel so lucky to have dealt with a venue that honestly seems to do it for the love of it and that passion shone through.

The Langtons Hotel truly has a wonderful, calming vibe that made our stay feel like a much-needed escape. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and professionalism from the staff. They struck that rare balance—friendly and approachable, yet always composed and attentive. Whether it was a quick question or a small request, someone was always available, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.||||The housekeeping was top-notch—everything was spotless and refreshed with care, which made our room feel like a serene haven to return to each day. Check-in and checkout were impressively smooth, quick, and calm, setting the tone for a stress-free stay.||||We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the quality toiletries, which included a few nostalgic, old-school elements. These little details gave the hotel a unique character and added to the overall sense of indulgence and relaxation.||||In a time that has felt heavy and uncertain, this stay gave us a much-needed sense of normalcy and comfort. We’re truly grateful for the experience.

Alice wonderland inspired restaurant with it's cozy cafe seemingly secret like the world of wonderland. The interior design of John Street Tea & wine is an ideal spot for wine/coffee catch-up with family or dress nicely with your girls for tea and cakes. The brunch was amazing from 'The works' to the Boiled egg florentine with a tomato salsa that cuts and balance flavour along side the potatoes and pudding spinach. Staff are very attentive, kind, caring and very accommendating. Rooms here are cozy and lovely. Food very fairly priced around 10 - 15 euro for brunch meals with portion size that perfectly filling and leaving room for something sweet. I'll definitely be coming back here for (1) stay (2) coffee and (3) chats. P.S keep an eye out for Alice and Wonderland Easter eggs like stop watches and cards. As for environment, chill jazz and medium chatter is nice calming

We had our wedding at Langtons on the 26th of June 2025. Sean and all the staff were amazing to work with on the lead up to the wedding, and were phenomenal on the day. We wouldn’t change a thing, couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The food, the seamless flow, nothing was a problem and everyone had such a great time. Wish we could do it all again!

Went to Langtons for afternoon tea. It was fabulous. Staff are attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Three tier cake stand was entirely filled with great quality savoury and sweet items. Cocktail included, great selection to choose from.

Stopped by this hotel for a quick bite and ordered a flat white and the Boston prawn cocktail. The coffee was good, but the prawn cocktail was just average. It was a busy weekend, so the atmosphere was a bit noisy. Overall, a decent experience but nothing particularly memorable.

This was the worst afternoon tea I’ve ever gone to. We had booked for 3 people and were stuck at a tiny 2 person table in the back corner. We had to put our cups on a windowsill because they didn’t fit on the table. Part of the food was forgotten about and took over half an hour to come up. We were checked on once after the food was given to us for drinks or anything at all. We were hidden away and ignored. Do not recommend at all

Yelp
After our guide recommended the Langton House Hotel in Kilkenny for lunch, my bestie and I were excited to see what the fuss was all about. As soon as we walked in, we could see why. It's absolutely beautiful. The hotel has a pretty vintage, but well-maintained, romantic antiquity to it. There was a bridal party happening when we arrived which I think added to the romanticism but it was still really pleasant. The restaurant and bar are conjoined, so there's plenty of table and bar seating all the way around. My friend and I shared the croquettes to start which were just okay, but then I ordered a broccoli and mushroom soup and the Stuffed Chicken entree. The soup was delicious and the entree came with caramelized onions and mashed potatoes, plus a side salad. The entree was absolutely delicious. I can honestly say this was one of my favorite dishes in my whole Ireland trip. I left the Langton House more than satisfied.

Yelp
Terrible! First of all our waitress was VERY curt and down right rude. I understand that they don't expect a tip but her attitude was beyond. She seated our group in a section that was reserved for a group at 6:30. We were seated at 5:45! I had to walk to the bar to ask for a second glass of wine. We never saw our waitress again after the main course. I asked for a dessert menu and a waiter I had never seen before came over and dumped the menus on the table. Then the manager came over to our table and asked if we could MOVE to another section because a reserved party was coming! At that point the dessert that was supposed to be included in my meal was not to be had. We paid the bill, told the manager our issues (he did take the first round of drinks off the bill) and then left. TERRIBLE!

Yelp
I am talking about the restaurant. We were here for early bird special which lasted until 7:30. We were seated at 7:28 and they gave us that menu... pretty nice. It was $20 for main course with either appetizer or dessert. I had the homemade root vegetable soup which was OK but they gave me a slice of, very good, gluten free toast with butter. I had "Tings farm Kilkenny range roast chicken supreme" with roast shallots, balsamic glazed carrots & potato purée. The chicken was excellent but carrots were too sweet with the balsamic glaze. There were a lot of mashed potatoes. My husband had a pizza and it was OK - not bad, not great. For dessert he had Profiteroles filled with cream with hot chocolate sauce (cram puffs). Those were amazing. There is generally music later but tonight they'd have a DJ and at 9:00 it hadn't started. The best part was sitting next to a mom and her son discussing a play off game hurling. Seats are close so it's not to get to talk to some people from town.

Yelp
Set in the heart of Kilkenny's town centre, this place is not to be missed. It's a successful blend of the best of old and new - funky finish and furnishings in a traditional building. And it's HUGE! you'll keep finding new sections and areas, including an enormous room/dancing place out the back. You'll want to check out the bar and restaurant downatairs also: the food is always excellent, the cocktails are always potent. If you're staying there, you'll be glad you won't have too far to stumble after knocking some of those back. Parking on-site also, which is a huge plus for a city-centre watering hole. Enjoy.
