I never knew Langtons existed until two of my friends got married there and my then fiancée and I fell in love with the hotel and as a venue it was amazing. Staying in the hotel as a guest was great, the service was top notch, price was affordable and the staff were so nice. I'm pretty sure at one point I got lost because the hotel is gigantic. Roll the clock forward and we booked with them for our wedding. Our meal tasting was great and being vegetarians the team worked with us to make sure our menu was top notch for everyone. I can confirm the veggie/vegan options are delicious, from our ceremony in the Set Theatre to our meal and dancing in the ballroom, it was a magical day. I can not express how easy and stress free the whole lead up to our wedding was, Sean and Louise took care of anything and everything for us. They take pride in the work they do and it showed on our wedding day, the whole day went so smoothly. We had the best day of our lives in Langtons it was perfect and I can not recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed.

Mixed review about this property. My bed was good, the room however, is in need of refreshing. Careworn flooring, tired bathroom caulking etc. Morning breakfast was good albeit, I had to chase down staff for some time for my initial cup of coffee.

I cannot praise this venue enough! From start to finish they were everything you could want from a wedding venue. Sean, Louise and the whole team were so accommodating, so good at responding to my many queries and so helpful in every way. Planning a wedding from overseas I thought would be so stressful but they took care of everything and the whole day went seamlessly, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all so friendly too which was lovely. The venue is stunning with so many different areas that you almost forget it’s all taking place in the one venue and the areas are all so stunning you need to add very little. And the food, guests are still talking about it. So so happy with our decision and I can’t imagine our day having taken place anywhere else. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also, I don’t know if it’s the done thing to talk about price but I found Langtons was so reasonable compared to other venues we looked at which wasn’t really a deciding factor but didn’t hurt. They were flexible with package inclusions to make sure we weren’t paying for things we didn’t need to and were honest and transparent from the start. In an industry that often feels like you’re being taken for a ride, I feel so lucky to have dealt with a venue that honestly seems to do it for the love of it and that passion shone through.

In my capacity as wedding celebrant and legal solemniser I visited Langton’s to perform a wedding ceremony in the Set Theatre. Staff here are always friendly and professional and on my last visit they did not disappoint. A large number of family and friends gathered for the ceremony and were ushered in to the Set in good time for the ceremony. The lovely bride & groom had made the journey from Melbourne with their 3 children to make their vows in front of family and friends. As I made my way to the car park having said my farewells, the drinks reception and celebrations were in full swing! Congratulations Sarah & Kevin! Looking forward to my return to Langtons shortly for another wedding.

Lovely clean spacious room. Staff quite friendly but unfortunately we had to phone reception a few times around 2am due to noise levels of guests in room above us. A herd of elephants would have been quieter. They did not stop for about 2hours. |We were also very disappointed with the food. Over done and very little. See photos

The staff were lovely and welcoming in reception and the restaurant. But the room in Garden Suites was a long haul up and down steps from checking in. Our particular room overlooked the car park! Finding the car park had been difficult in the first place and we could have done with the hotel giving us these local directions in advance. The extractor fan in the bathroom was excessively loud, but the room itself was very restful with a comfortable bed. All food evening and breakfast was very good indeed, with efficient and friendly service. It takes up a bog footprint of land in the town, and the famous wedding facilities dominate much of the hotel. Best avoided if someone is getting married there! Excellent location on a historic high street.

I stayed at this hotel on the 1st Oct. The TV didnt work , the shower was cold. When i complained at check out the receptionist said re the shower she had a complaint about this from a previous client. I commented the maintenance man needs telling . She said hed been of ill. My question is why use the room if it was faulty. Breakfast and Bar was great though. Michael

Food was very good and the people working there are great, but lacking guidance and proper management imo. Here for lunch, and plenty of staff on, but bar was slammed and only 1 person behind it, and 6 others walking around! It strikes me like management are hands off and they need to train and look after their new recruits!

Yelp
After our guide recommended the Langton House Hotel in Kilkenny for lunch, my bestie and I were excited to see what the fuss was all about. As soon as we walked in, we could see why. It's absolutely beautiful. The hotel has a pretty vintage, but well-maintained, romantic antiquity to it. There was a bridal party happening when we arrived which I think added to the romanticism but it was still really pleasant. The restaurant and bar are conjoined, so there's plenty of table and bar seating all the way around. My friend and I shared the croquettes to start which were just okay, but then I ordered a broccoli and mushroom soup and the Stuffed Chicken entree. The soup was delicious and the entree came with caramelized onions and mashed potatoes, plus a side salad. The entree was absolutely delicious. I can honestly say this was one of my favorite dishes in my whole Ireland trip. I left the Langton House more than satisfied.

Yelp
Terrible! First of all our waitress was VERY curt and down right rude. I understand that they don't expect a tip but her attitude was beyond. She seated our group in a section that was reserved for a group at 6:30. We were seated at 5:45! I had to walk to the bar to ask for a second glass of wine. We never saw our waitress again after the main course. I asked for a dessert menu and a waiter I had never seen before came over and dumped the menus on the table. Then the manager came over to our table and asked if we could MOVE to another section because a reserved party was coming! At that point the dessert that was supposed to be included in my meal was not to be had. We paid the bill, told the manager our issues (he did take the first round of drinks off the bill) and then left. TERRIBLE!

Yelp
I am talking about the restaurant. We were here for early bird special which lasted until 7:30. We were seated at 7:28 and they gave us that menu... pretty nice. It was $20 for main course with either appetizer or dessert. I had the homemade root vegetable soup which was OK but they gave me a slice of, very good, gluten free toast with butter. I had "Tings farm Kilkenny range roast chicken supreme" with roast shallots, balsamic glazed carrots & potato purée. The chicken was excellent but carrots were too sweet with the balsamic glaze. There were a lot of mashed potatoes. My husband had a pizza and it was OK - not bad, not great. For dessert he had Profiteroles filled with cream with hot chocolate sauce (cram puffs). Those were amazing. There is generally music later but tonight they'd have a DJ and at 9:00 it hadn't started. The best part was sitting next to a mom and her son discussing a play off game hurling. Seats are close so it's not to get to talk to some people from town.

Yelp
Set in the heart of Kilkenny's town centre, this place is not to be missed. It's a successful blend of the best of old and new - funky finish and furnishings in a traditional building. And it's HUGE! you'll keep finding new sections and areas, including an enormous room/dancing place out the back. You'll want to check out the bar and restaurant downatairs also: the food is always excellent, the cocktails are always potent. If you're staying there, you'll be glad you won't have too far to stumble after knocking some of those back. Parking on-site also, which is a huge plus for a city-centre watering hole. Enjoy.
