Lankavatara Ocean Retreat

We stayed here for the last few days of a month long trip, the hotel with swimming pool is right next to a beautiful beach surrounded by coconut palms. We had a small, comfortable apartment, two bedrooms with an interconnecting room, a kitchen and a balcony. The managers were very helpful and arranged a boat trip to the bird sanctuary for us and tuk-tuks to the local town. Hotel food was delicious with a varied menu for breakfast and evening meal. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly and we were particularly well looked after by Nimesh, as well as Ashen and Gimhan. Enjoyed a very relaxing massage at the spa, as well as long early morning walks along the deserted beach, and jumping the waves with my 4 year old grandson. A very memorable stay.

A very lovely hotel in a peaceful area. We only had breakfast there and went for dinner at a restaurant across the road. The breakfast was really good. The beach is amazing, as is the view from the room. Absolutely recommended!

Stayed here for 4 nights / 5 days. Amazing resort, beautiful rooms, directly on the most beautiful and quiet beach. We went to the spa everyday and had nice treatments. Breakfast is very tasty and fresh. Good service and across the street from the best restaurant in Sri Lanka. 10/10 recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at Lankavatara Ocean Retreat. The food was absolutely out of this world, every dish had the perfect balance of flavor, and each order turned out to be a pleasant surprise in the best way possible. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even more special. The location is superb, with a beautiful beach right in front and classy, well-designed rooms that made the stay so comfortable. Overall, everything about this resort exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

We had a stay of 6 nights in the beautiful Resort directly by the beach. Asanka the Hotel Manager and Host gave us such a warm welcome and took care of every wish we had from organizing a safari, Taxi,… In general every member of the Lankavatara team from waiter to cleaner made our time very special there. And the Food is 1000/10, we ate every day at their Restaurant. The Beach is right in front of you and the Pool view is amazing. It was the perfect Start for our Trip in this relaxing Accommodation and Atmosphere. We can highly recommend a stay there :) Andre & Laura

This hotel gave me the luxury stay I was seeking and a chance to chill. Needed anything? Just WhatsApp. Cocktails by the pool? No problem. Also reasonable charges for laundry here. Set away from the main tourist towns you basically have your own beach. Hotel food was good plus there is a restaurant opposite. Staff incredibly helpful and welcoming. If you want a few days away from it all - this is the place

It was wonderful!! A wonderful resort. The service was very attentive. Everything was super clean and tidy. The food in the in-house restaurant was delicious, and there was a good selection. The view of the sea from the resort was also stunning. The pool, the spa, and the morning Pilates were a MUST!! Everything was almost perfect. The beach was just beautiful and private. No crowds, just peace and the ocean. A dream! High praise to the entire team and management! We will definitely visit the resort again. Thank you so much!!

This has been one of my favorite experiences of travel I’ve ever had (and I’ve traveled a lot)! The rooms, grounds, food, pool and beach are so beautiful and relaxing. But mostly it has been the staff that has made our experience what it has been, we even decided to stay a couple days longer. Gimbal, Nimesh, Vihaja and others were so kind and friendly and went well out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They learned my son’s favorite foods and accommodated for all meals, they made him a beautiful cake and decorated our room for his birthday, showed us how to make our favorite dishes, and overall have made us feel more welcomed than I could have imagined. I would come back to sri lanka just to stay here again.
