Going to Roundhouse is a bit like staying with family. You don't sit down and expect to be served - you approach the hosts of the house, who are very much at ease and enjoying themselves by the bar, and kindly inquire about something to drink or eat. You pick a beautifully relaxed spot in the outdoors seating area, which almost feels like a living room. You enjoy the view of the sea and the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore. The kitchen doesn't open until 15h so if you're expecting something to eat when you venture in around noon (based on the Google pictures), you're in the wrong place. You have a fresh coconut instead, which much to your delight gets served with a metal straw: a first, 3 weeks into your single-use-plastic-loving Thailand round-trip. Then the hostess approaches you. She is making herself a cold platter with hummus and is happy to make you one too, if you feel like it. You say yes and enjoy the healthy lunch you didn't know you needed, including some fresh homemade naan. It comes with a carafe of fresh water and a glass of ice cubes. Halfway through your meal, the host comes to check-in, to see if you're enjoying my plate. It's delicious, you gesture👌🏼
These people clearly care about the environment, and allow people to live life at their own pace and in their own space. They deserve your business. Namaste🙏🏼
