Lantern Hill & Hollow

Fantastic location, right by the sea, sound of the waves, peace and quiet, superbly equipped cottages.||Great cottages, modern, comfortable, with kitchen, good bathroom. Everything was wonderful.||The big downside was the cleanliness in places that weren't immediately visible: when we looked under the bed, it was very dirty and rather disgusting. We cleaned it ourselves, then it was OK. The management apologized, promised improvement, and compensated us.||Nevertheless: a mega great place. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed three nights here in one of the cottages. It was well supplied and clean. The comfortable chairs on the decking were a joy to look out over the sandy bay. |We enjoyed lunches at nearby Periwinkle (great decaff latte) and the best burger ever at Morrisons whilst visiting White Point just off the trail. It is also worth visiting St Pauls Island museum and lighthouse whilst up there|(Free admission). |Only gripe was there was no dishwasher which showed with plates and bowls having food on them when we arrived. |If this is bit pricey for you look at the Keltic Quay cottages at Wycocomagh-half the price and have a dishwasher- book downstairs. Not the beach but amazing view over lake.

Nice place to stay, loved the kid friendly balcony and extra coffee, tea, cream & sugar right outside my door. I also loved the A/C & ceiling fan. I wish they would have had a smart tv so we could have watched Netflix. I also wish I had stayed in one of the cabins facing east to really see the sunrise without waking to the beach area.

Spacious 2 bedroom cottage. Modern tasteful decor. Well situated, right along the beach. Quiet, beautiful property. Checking in and out was a breeze. Very clean. Comfy beds. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach. Ingonish is cute and full of nice little shops. Salty Rose café was a great place for coffee about a few km away.

Lantern Hill & Hollow is a true gem. The private white sand beach is stunning — you can walk for 30 minutes in either direction. The grounds are beautifully maintained and peaceful, and our room was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. Ideally located just minutes from the Cabot Trail, it’s the perfect base for exploring Cape Breton while enjoying a tranquil seaside retreat. We can’t recommend it highly enough. I wish we could have stayed a few more days!

This property is tucked away down a beautiful wooded drive. We looked at many accommodations in Ingonish, and this, in our opinion, was the best.|Check in was very simple, the large sign on the road made it easy to navigate to late at night when we arrived. The grounds here are beautiful. Gorgeous Fall colors, flowers, a nice clean pond, and mostly easy access to an amazing view of the North Bay. We really enjoyed the crashing waves and could have sat on the beach all day! The room we were in at the lodge was much larger than we expected, extremely clean and comfortable. After a long day of travel, the sound of the ocean and the fresh sea breeze though our open window gave us the best night sleep we can remember. The coffee bar, fireplace and spacious bathroom all added to a very comfortable stay. I wish we would have known how beautiful this Inn was and would have stayed another day. Great little restaurants and shops within minutes. Lantern Hill & Hollow will most definitely be on our list on the next visit to Cape Breton!

I have been going to the lantern hill and hollow for almost a decade now and I find that it has the best section of beach in the town due to its soft sand and lack of rocks and along with beautiful rooms and equipment available for the ocean I could not recommend this cottage property more to anyone

Stayed 1 night in the Oceana room and wish we stayed longer. The bed is sooo comfortable. The decor is relaxing & listening to the ocean at night, sitting on the balcony was heaven.

A one bedroom cottage about 800 Sq feet. With a corner jet tub and in the off season for 135 a night get the moonbeamer cottage. Two days of pure luxury right on the beach. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach from your living room. I fell in love with this place. It was bigger then my home and it came with beach front what else could anyone expect for 135 a night. Off season. A perfect vacation. They only have one moonbeamer so reserve it. The rest are all family units cost more have an extra bedroom minus the Jacuzzi.
