Singapore is having a pizza moment - SilverKris

"I saw that this Eat, Pray, Love pizzeria still makes its dough the traditional way it did in Naples more than a century ago, with the dough resting overnight in a climate-controlled madia (now stainless steel) placed in the middle of the restaurant floor—kept at 22°C, which the owner says is costly in air-conditioning. Ingredients are strictly DOP, such as fior di latte from Agerola and San Marzano tomatoes, and while the Naples flagship serves only two classics, the Singapore outpost offers 18 options including the Cetara, named for Amalfi Coast anchovies." - Ben Chin

We were fortunate enough to try the Margherita and the special of the day pizza (yellow tomatoes with pork cheek). Both were absolutely great in balance and texture. The crust was the perfect foundation—thin, impeccably light, and with just the right amount of crispness. This isn't the kind of heavy, doughy pizza that weighs you down; it’s the kind you could happily eat every day. The Margherita was a classic done right, but the special of the day pizza was a true standout. The sweetness of the yellow tomatoes paired sublimely with the rich, salty, and wonderfully tender pork cheek and those tiny red peppercorns. Each component sang in harmony, creating a flavourful experience that was both sophisticated and deeply satisfying. Reservation highly recommended.

Make a reservation if you can, if not, they take walk ins! Within the 15 minutes of their opening, it felt like half the restaurant was full. It does get loud! Ordered and food came out within 10 minutes which was quick. Our server said to have it come out together, we said yes but the pizza came out first. 10 minutes after, our appetizer came out. Our ragu came out 5 minutes later. Special of the day pizza- delicious! The bleu cheese was stronger in some slices but still delicious! Fritto di mare - if u like seafood.. get it! The batter isn’t thick so you can taste the seafood. The sauce is only okay, but I’d love it if they had salt on the side for us to sprinkle. Ragu Della portiera - the flavor wasn’t there, I think they forgot to add some seasoning. I asked them for salt but they ended up giving us cheese to sprinkle on it. It just needed more salt. We the 1/4 of it and took it home to add our own salt. Service - We were rushed to order quickly. We just sat down and within 1 minute, we were asked if we were ready to order. Then another few minute passed, and she asked again. Seatings - there’s indoor and outdoors. It’s comfortable! Exterior is warm though. I didn’t see a fan. I’ll have to come back to try their other pizzas!

They agreed to customise to replicate the best and most perfect pizza I had in my entire life while in Positano—with burrata, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, dried thyme or oregano, extra virgin olive oil, prosciutto and tomato sauce toppings. I showed them the photo and told them the topping ingredients, but they used chopped regular tomato that wasn't ripe and sweet enough instead of cherry tomatoes in the end. I then asked for cherry tomatoes which they brought to me in a bowl without extra charge, but they unfortunately were also not ripe and sweet enough; some were even green and tart. They also added an ingredient I didn't ask for—chopped sun-dried tomato that was primarily and excessively salty—that caused the entire flavor profile to veer slightly saltier rather than sweet and refreshing. Ripened cherry tomatoes would have nicely balanced out the mild saltiness of the prosciutto with their refreshing sweetness—barring their bland chopped regular tomato and excessively salty sun-dried tomato. And they omitted the dried thyme or oregano which would have added aroma, flavor and visual texture, especially when their fresh basil—perhaps due to its growth, climate, harvest, storage and prep conditions—was lacking aroma and flavor. Neopolitan food is all about simple prep with the freshest, most robust, aromatic and flavorful ingredients grown in their nutrient-rich Vesuvian soil. It's perhaps challenging and not cost effective to import fresh herbs and tomatoes from Italy and keeping them unbruised and fresh on arrival. However, Holland vine-ripened cherry tomatoes on the vine work just as well and are available locally. Local cherry tomatoes that are ripened are also easy to find—they just need to select the deep red ones, or store them for a short period for them to fully ripen. But the flavors overall weren't too bad. The pizza may be slightly bland with only very mild sweetness—due to their bland, underripe fresh tomato toppings—and interspersed with unnecessary bursts of saltiness from the chopped sun-dried tomato, but it was still quite refreshing and creamy nonetheless with the fresh tomatoes and burrata—especially when paired with their very lemony delicious, zesty bright Limoncello Spritz which they have mastered to perfection. Likewise for their Aperol Spritz. But their lemon one—was zestier, sweeter, more alcoholic and therefore way superior!

Bustling with energy, the restaurant still offered me a cozy little corner to savor a delicious Truffle Porcini pizza. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially Paola, who was just lovely. Watching the two pizza chefs at work was a delight, every movement full of skill and grace. The other pizzas looked incredibly tempting too. I’ll surely be back for more. 👍

My wife and I were walking around looking for an alternative dinner spot after our plans changed, and we noticed this busy pizzeria across the street. Out of curiosity, we went to check it out and realized it was the famous Michelin-starred pizzeria from Italy. There was a queue, but it moved quickly. We were seated at the counter within 15 minutes. The restaurant had a great vibe. It was packed with both tourists and locals, and a lively, bustling atmosphere. Being seated at the counter gave us a front-row view of the kitchen, which added to the experience. Despite how busy it was, service was efficient and the food came out surprisingly fast. The menu was simple and focused, and the pizza was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality in the dough — light, flavorful, and authentic. Overall, it was a great spontaneous find. Good food, attentive service, and an energetic atmosphere. Would definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re planning to go during peak hours.

A perfect dining experience from start to finish! Even though it was peak hour, the service was fantastic—attentive and friendly without feeling rushed. They really go the extra mile, even bringing out a delicious cake and singing "Happy Birthday" to celebrants, which made the day feel extra special. The pizza was the star of the show; loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients and cooked to perfection. I also tried the meatballs, which were incredibly high quality and bursting with flavor. And don't even get me started on the dessert—it was a unique and delightful way to end the meal. This place is a must-try for anyone craving authentic, top-notch Italian food.

Super yummy! We ordered three dishes and all were great. The Margherita pizza was super soft and chewy - I loved it. The beef in the ragu pasta was really tender. Highly recommend this place!
