Would not stay here again. Upon arrival had to change rooms four times because air conditioning not working in any of the rooms. Finally on the fourth try after spending about half an hour going up and down the hotel elevators trying to find a room with air, found a room with air conditioning working. Then, the room was infested with mosquitos. Woke up with more than 6 mosquito bites. All over my face. Upon checking out the door men are watching me struggle to put my luggage in the taxi and don’t even try to assist. What kind of “5 star hotel” is that? Seriously get better service at the petrol station. The gym is pretty decent. However, they don’t even give you cups for the water machines. They have water machines but say “due to environmental reasons” please bring your own cup. I’ve been to plenty of places in Vientiane and other cities in Laos where cups are given at all water machines. This is a “5 star hotel” not a hostel. Inexcusable. In general, my experience here was definitely not a good one.

Excellent hotel with an excellent location. Free airport pick up and drop off with prior arrangements. Spacious rooms with all the whistles and bells. About two blocks off the Mekong River. Convenient store close by as several restaurants also. Large swimming pool on 2nd floor. I would stay there again. Very clean and tidy.

Fantastic place to stay. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. The woodwork in the hotel will blow you away, the stairs and walls are made of pure hardwood. The bed and room were great. The staff was so friendly especially Phonetravee. This man was so helpful and his smile is warm and welcoming. Free shuttle, great 4 room gym. A true 5 star hotel. You should stay here

I stayed at Lao Plaza for six days last week of September. Front desk service was exceptional - Easy check-in, seamless. Breakfast each morning had vast selection for all tastes (European, Asian, etc.) with several cooked to order options. Laundry service was excellent. Gym facilities were excellent with a very wide range of equipment (and the gym manager was very helpful I might add). Pool was very large and appeared well maintained. Room was well equipped, waters, desk, good WiFi, etc. My only negative would be the noise - the doors of each room are very heavy, and as would be necessary, the door closure is very loud. Given no carpet (for obvious reasons in this part of the world), the noise from doors closing carries and unfortunately happens frequently late / early morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Compared to the price a really good deal. Rooms are very nice. Not new but nice. There is absolutely no view so the curtains are kept closed. Breakfast is good. Not at the level of a Bangkok hotel but more than fine for a few days. The people working are service minded and friendly. Coffee is great.

checking in to hotel was very quick, efficient and after a long journey a hot shower was very refreshing, great room size with a a desk to catch up on computer work, |after dashing down to the lobby for a cappuccino , ordering room service was also a promt experience, and my morsel delivered was very good, A sound sleep was had, the breakfast had such an array of choices , and I decided to have the mini eggs Benedict , which had great flavour.

Swimming pool close way to early (8pm). Also the gym is supposed to close at 9pm but in practice it closes earlier. However, one upside is that the swimming opens at 6am.
