We staying during the summer season - perfect for hiking and bike rides. The hotel is stunning, rooms are beautiful. We had a sauna in our room which was a nice touch. Customer service was friendly and accomodating, especially for a few requests we had (I.e late checkout, dinner reservation). Be mindful there is no elevator at this hotel. The dinner was nice, presented with a nice view of the Forrest. Could not fault the food. The breakfast was also well done, many options of locally sourced product. The oatmeal was my favourite. For 5 stars, I recommend having some form of transport to assist such as a shuttle bus or bike rental on site. Taxi is very expensive if you don’t have a car. I also think the hot drinks are very over priced. A hot chocolate dispensed from a basic coffee machine cost 4.40 euro each - I was very surprised on this price for cheap quality. Overall we enjoyed our stay. I would stay again if there was alternative transport provided by the hotel (shuttle or bike).

A wonderful location, friendly, happy and knowledgeable staff, with exquisite food.|This is quite possibly my favourite restaurant now. Such great staff, happy and chatty, and who clearly knew the food.|Ok, I've only been once, going again tomorrow, but it was fantastic.|Have the taster starter, 6 Finnish dishes including trout, reindeer pie, reindeer tartare and local cheese with a berry chutney.|Reindeer two ways for main. Rare, succulent and delicious.|I highly recommend this place. Go there.

Rooms: I looked at a lot of hotels in the area but none seemed that exciting. The decor looked great for this one and I like it even more in person for being a cozy, inviting space. There is also a nice storage area and my son gets to try his 1st sauna… after I google how it works 😀 Service: I arrived early in the day and my room was ready. Staff was very helpful in explaining all the hotel details 🙂 Location: I have a woodland view so that makes the location great to me although I am relatively close to town Bonus points for all the reindeer everywhere, to include beautiful wooden hotel keys 🦌💙

This hotel exceeds expectations. I believe it is stated as a 3-star, but our experience was at least a 4-star (I have been living in hotels across countries for 30+ years). Clean, quiet, friendly, charming attentive staff and a great restaurant. The location is outside the town, on top of a nearby hill. Great location to take walks / hikes and a 10-minute car ride away from 'downtown'.

We went a week before Christmas 2024. It was magical with the snow. Like being in a Christmas card. Remote, with a few hours of daylight. The staff were lovely, the room was nice and clean. We would definitely stay again|Man I love Christmas…..

I had a change to stay in this beautiful property in February and it was just perfect. The hotel is located on a hill so basically amazing to see the Aurora lights. The Sky restaurant has this delicious soup from pine nut that is the best I have ever tried. The views from the hotel rooms are extraordinary as well you wake up with the trees covered in snow. I hope I can visit again some time.

We stayed as a family of 3 at February mid term. Staff are all lovely and very helpful. Rooms are small and not all rooms have a fridge, this was missed especially as the rooms are very warm so we couldn't keep any cold drinks. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked the front of the hotel, top tip - request a room on the first floor overlooking the slopes. The restaurant is lovely with amazing views, however, the menu is very limited and could benefit from a more 'international' offering. We also ate in the lobby bar - food was good and was served very quickly, however the menu is very small and could be improved. Also, whilst the lobby has a lovely view, it lacks cosiness due to the proximity to the main hotel doors which are constantly opening. Also, the fire isn't always lit which could be improved upon. This hotel has direct access to the chair lift (which is complimentary on arrival down to the ski rental shop) and is perfectly placed to take a 'green' run down to the bottom of the slopes. One thing to note is that the chairlift doesn't open until 2pm which didn't suit us as our lesson was at 2pm so we paid €24 for a taxi to get down to the ski rental shop. Also worth noting is that the chairlift closes at 4:30pm which isn't a bother if you have skis as the T-bar lift seems to run until at least 8pm (and starts from at least 10am). One thing that was very annoying - there is a hut for ski storage at the back door of the hotel BUT, you can only access it by getting a key from reception (which involves two trips as you have to return the key) - hotel can improve this by changing the lock (maybe by using a code or linking to hotel room card). Its about 15 mins drive to the airport and €45.

Nice experience overall expect that we booked 2 nights for a luxury room with sauna and we are told there is no sauna room available when we arrive at the reception. We only had 25% off the dinner at the restaurant...We had to negotiate to be upgraded the next night (which we were and it was nice). Also we were told we could not eat our own food at the reception which is a shame when we know the price of the rooms. Also there is no elevator which can be an issue for some people.

Yelp
If you're in the Lapland region, do not miss this restaurant. I booked this restaurant for an anniversary dinner through a travel company so our menu was already set. To start, we had a carrot soup and reindeer tartare (which I promise is much better than it sounds when you think about possibly eating Rudolph). Both options were delicious and if we could have licked the plate, we would have. Our server also brought out complimentary sparkling blueberry wine and homemade bread. The bread is out of this world and was gone from our table in a matter of minutes. Our entree' was a seared cod with cauliflower mash which was even better than the starters, if that's even possible. Our dessert was a blueberry gelato with merengue. Now, the food was incredible but the location is what just puts this place over the edge. Located a little outside of the city center, this restaurant can be incredible for catching a glimpse of the northern lights. Following our wonderful candlelit dinner, we made our way up to the hotel roof where you can see all of Rovaniemi and hope that the lights will come out. Though it was cloudy when we first went up, the clouds cleared up and we got the most incredible show of lights. The staff brought us hot blueberry juice in traditional Finnish wooden mugs so that we could enjoy it while we sat upstairs enjoying the lights. (Bonus, we got to keep the cups!) As soon as the lights were covered back up by clouds, magic happened and snow started to fall. You may not get this same experience considering it's all up to the weather. But if you're in this region, you're doing yourself a disservice by not visiting. I will happily be back as soon as I can just for the food!
