LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort

The hotel has a lot to offer: uncomplicated and friendly welcome upon arrival, valet parking staff helpful and efficient, three great swimming pools and a nice whirlpool, a beautiful beach with great sand. The chairs are quite confortable, and the staff will provide you with enough towels and umbrellas. They are helpful and efficient. The rooms (we had a sea view) are quite spacious and confortable: nothing fancy, but the beds are confortable, the bathroom just large enough. The balcony is large enough to sit comfortably. The wifi works well. Housekeeping was always on time and efficient. The fitness studio is not huge but had everything I needed.||Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant spoiled our stay…After being told the first evening that there was no seat on the terrasse, i booked for every meal for the following days. The problem is that the next day, the staff at the entrance of the restaurant told me (they were talking to me like to a child…)that my reservations would only allow me to get in line to get a table on the terrasse….So the principle is basically that you pay thousands of dollars for your room, you book your tables and you have the right to stay in line to hope for a table. 45 minutes the second evening, and 20-40 minutes the following days. With a baby….||Now the tone always comes from the top: as I complained with the restaurant manager, he listened to me and just disappeared without helping in any way…pathetic! But the restaurant should not worry: they are apparently full booked every night and that will probably not change.||This being said, the terrasse can be a bit chilly, and is very noisy. The food is ok but not more. The service is below average (had to ask at least 2 or 3 times for a baby chair each time), and except for Adriano in the evening waiting time was long .

Beautiful resort with outstanding service and amazing sunset views. The rooms are well maintained and have absolutely NO ODOR, which is so rare when you're right on the water. The best part about our stay here was the service. It was exceptional from the beach to poolside to housekeeping. We were very well taken care of by a young, happy team that seemed to be always around when needed, but never hovered. We were particularly impressed with the young men who kept the beach, beach chairs, and umbrellas wonderfully maintained and orderly. A very special thank you to housekeeping, and Kim Hawxhurst in particular, for returning some serums and items that I had forgotten there in the nightstand. Housekeeping bagged and set aside everything before I even realized I had left them, and Kim kept in touch while she tracked down my items and shipped them back to me. It was a very nice cherry on top of a wonderful stay to have my favorite sleep mask come back home to me, thanks to these thoughtful ladies.

Thought about taking one star away after they let themselves into our room when it had a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door to drop off a complimentary bottle of champagne. Thankfully we weren’t there 😳. Otherwise the room was mid. Nothing fancy. But the view was amazing and this property is in a great location. Love the pools and hot tub as well.

We did not stay here so I am not rating the resort however we did eat Dinner at their restaurant Baleen. The food, service and the scenery are top notch. It was a blustery evening, but we decided to keep our outdoor table because of the view. My wife and I had the Chef's Signature Special Blackened Gulf Grouper and our son had the Pan Roasted Diver Scallops. All were delicious. Our server Chris did a great tending to our table. I took one Star off due to our appetizer Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. The cocktail sauce was solidified for some reason and I returned a drink which Chris took care of, but it was fine after that. We will definitely return though because it's so nice here.

Our stay at La Playa Beach & Golf Resort was absolutely wonderful. We are truly grateful for the hospitality and for everything we were able to share and experience during our time there. We felt very welcomed, cared for, and comfortable throughout our stay. It was an experience we genuinely loved and deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for such a beautiful stay. Wenderson at the Front Desk was absolutely wonderful and gives great directions. What a perfectl way to begin a trip. The valets were also so efficient (and it was so cold!). Miguel the porter was a joy and could manage our heavy bags. The location is on the beach and close to lots of fun restaurants. We'll be back! please note: I goofed -- it was not Miguel, it was MICHAEL who was a fabulous porter and handled our super heavy bags. I'm horrible with names.

The team here is next to none! While there are so many exceptional resorts, without the right team, it takes exceptional to ordinary. This team was nothing short of extraordinary. A huge thank you to everyone who made our experience outstanding - Ilijarana in housekeeping made me feel home away from home, Emily, LT, Yessica, Diego, Renny and the entire banquet team catered to every event need ensuring we were set for success. Chef Hector and his team produced a truly unique culinary experience that left our guests raving. Thank you!!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend! From Claude’s warm greeting as we arrived — in six different languages, always with a smile — to his going above and beyond (even checking us in himself), every part of our stay was exceptional. Mike at the front desk did everything he could to get us into our room quickly, and Autumn truly saved the night with Alka-Seltzer that helped me finally get some great rest. Our waiter, Vance from Maldova gave such a great explanation of the dishes that we ended up choosing the perfect meal. Louis, our other server, helped me score those amazing candied pecans! Out on the beach, Sam was friendly and helpful, and the gentleman managing the chairs and umbrellas (a Fort Myers local) made us feel right at home. If I were the owner of LaPlaya, I’d be incredibly proud of this staff — everyone we met was genuinely wonderful. The only thing we couldn’t make happen was the couples massage, but Anne and Theresa went out of their way to get my wife in for some much-needed R&R. Thank you again for such a great experience — we’ll definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

The club membership is good. Cami is always the most attentive and provides outstanding service. She is kind, friendly and provides an overall excellent experience. So do the valets, beach and pool guys and rest of the staff and servers. Compared to most other clubs and resorts however, the gym is a total disappointment and the air quality there might be hazardous.

The hotel is not in good shape. Our room had what appeared to be mold spots on the ceiling they tried the cover. Floors were scratched. Tub had pits and rust in it. Water came under the front door. Other areas of the lobby were leaking water. It is not what you expect for almost $1000 a night. On a positive note, the breakfast and service at the restaurant was great.

Where to start? Old poorly updated hotel pretending to be a 5 star resort. Be sure to check out the bar and do notice the 20% gratuity automatically added. Once you go to your room, be sure to hear the workers in the hallway. They believe in conservation, so you'll appreciate the minimal water flow from the shower. If there is a pool here, I've yet to find it. The amenities are.... Wait... still looking.... Seriously I have no idea why anyone would stay at this "resort".

La Playa Beach is one of those resorts that has a lot of potential. I'm sure it will be a true five star property when the remodel is completed. We stayed there for three days when we were traveling through Naples and what drew us here was the beach. The beach is absolutely breathtaking and the view from our tower room was worth a million. Almost half of the resort was closed for remodeling so we didn't really get the full resort experience. We were told the remodel will be done by December 2023. The customer service was excellent, especially on the beach, where we spent every minute of our stay. The food and cocktails on the beach were excellent. The coffee shop had great lattes and pastries (raisin muffin was my favorite). Overall the resort is pretty great. I would love to visit next year after the remodel.

The food is good here but the service is so bad especially for an expensive and beautiful restaurant. Such a shame. We water about 15m for water, had 2 waiters so we didn't know who to ask, drinks came out with appetizers, waiters would disappear, food came out timely but had to look for wait staff. Really unusual for Naples. We go to the pelican bay restaurant marker 36 and service is always impeccable. Not worth the $

Third visit to LaPlaya. Amazing location . Beach is great! Beach service is wonderful especially TAMAR! Was always there if you needed something!! Enjoyed it

My family and I booked this hotel thinking it would be as nice as it was when we were here a few years ago. It's terrible! They did not inform us that the hotel would be under construction ! Only the kids pool is open, we are sitting at the beach in a construction site. On top of that there are no water activities. The roofs are leaking water, there was only one elevator working for the whole hotel which caused us to wait too long for elevators. The rooms are nice but we did not come here to sit in the rooms. Horrible experience, very disappointed.

Other than the absolutely perfect view for my bedroom, this place was absolutely horrible. It was like something out of a movie, where the help scrutinize you, and decides that you're really not good enough for them to service. The front desk was terrible, refusing to help us figure out how my husband could play golf at what is supposed to be a golf resort. If their course was truly closed, which he insisted, it was not, he should have helped us find somewhere else as an alternative for a place that charges $500 per night.

One of the coolest vibes we have encountered in Naples. On the water, toes in the sand if you like. Food was excellent. Pricey but good. We ordered salads, plates to share, and lots of cocktails. We cannot wait to go back. It's just so cool.

Horrible service, limited menu, mediocre food at best, extremely overpriced experience. Overall would give service a 0 if I could and I say this after 10 years in restaurant industry. They want to be something they're not.

Where do I begin. First and foremost, the staff at the hotel were very nice and do their best to accommodate every guest which you will find based on this review isn't always easy when upper management and the owners are willing to stay open during a major construction project, while simultaneously jeopardizing their brand and reputation capital. 'Poor choice guys'!! I booked this hotel through American Express Travel, and no one had previously informed me that it was being renovated or actively under construction. Prior to check-in I nearly drove past the hotel because from what I initially observed, there wasn't anything that gave me any other reason to believe that it was where we would be staying for the next two days, or that the property was even inhabitable. Fortunately, the name LaPlaya on the facade gave it away that it was where we would be staying. They say first impressions are everything especially when it comes to hospitality, yet for us LaPlaya was a major disappointment. We had the option of staying at the Ritz Carlton which wasn't significantly more in price and would have been a better value rather than tolerating the 2-star experience at LaPlaya. Had we known what we were about to walk into, we would have probably stayed anywhere else for that matter. There were multiple scaffolds going across the entire width of the main tower. There was a tubular trash shoot that looked like a waterslide at an amusement park running down the front of the hotel and draped netting over half of the hotel balcony's that ran from the top floor to the street level. The best part was the fresh grey mortar or primer smeared all over the hotel. The ground level was full of pallets of drywall and 5-gallon drums of paint. (See Photos) At check-in and check-out, they kept referencing that our reservation was booked through Expedia which it was not. It was booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. With my platinum travel benefits I typically receive an automatic upgrade and as part of my upgrade we had the option of being in the main tower where most of the construction was going on, or in another building that apparently had less work going on with painters rather than jackhammerers. Either way it was still work and still very disruptive. Since I now had this idea of Expedia in my mind, my immediate interpretation was that they gave us a room that would be for an Expedia upgrade vs. an Amex customer fine hotel upgrade. Upon checking into our room there was a crew of painters right outside of the room making a significant amount of noise along with hammering what sounded like a group of men driving giant stakes into the ground. After having arrived at the room around 3pm this hammering, talking and tool dropping continued to nearly 6pm. (See photo of ratchet set on our patio). We didn't have much of a patio either compared to the other 1st floor units where you could have literally performed cartwheels. Our patio or lack thereof was nothing to write home about. The TV didn't work with HDMI constantly flashing on the screen, so I immediately suspected that with all the repairs going on around our end unit that they must have jarred a connection loose. I had to call the front desk to not only inquire about all the noise and when it was expected to cease but also asked that the M.O.D Manager on Duty follow up with me which of course he never did. It seemed that my complaint to housekeeping about the TV not working during turndown service triggered the TV repair person to show up. Nonetheless, the TV repair person finally came nearly an hour later and by then we had pretty much lost our appetite to even want to watch TV. Having him in the room at that point was more a nuisance than a service. I try to give credit where credit is due and I will say on a positive note, the food and beverage service along with the in-room dining was the only part of the stay where the hotel experience was above par. Although out of the hotels control there was continuous truckloads of sand being transported to various ends of the beach. We felt horrible for those hotel guests who were staying longer, or more importantly for those who chose to get married on property while canary painted dump trucks became part of their wedding backdrop.

As soon as we checked in and got to our rooms the room phone was ringing. The SECOND we walked in. We answer to "Hi we have some bad news, your car has been hit. Can you come to the lobby" and we blew the entire day dealing with the car situation. Walking back and forth to the garage in the rain. Going to pick up the rental. Dealing with the police report. It was a nightmare. Our car was hit by a LaPlaya employee in the parking garage. Carlos, the resort GM lied to us about it. Acted like it was not his problem. Placed all the blame on the valet company, and had a terrible smug attitude. He insulted us. Refused to give us his leader's or the director's contact information. I had a miserable vacation of which I spent the entire time dealing with the vehicle and trying to coordinate having it fixed. I am still dealing with it. I still do not have my car. No one has paid the dealership to have it fixed yet. It's been almost 2 weeks. Carlos never once followed up, checked in, apologized. We had to ask for the refund of our stay and fees since since it was such a horrible experience. He seemed annoyed. Insulted us and said okay well it isn't about the money for us although it may be for you. (It is definitely not about the money for me. I paid for my $3000 stay with my debit card, I didn't use a CC, believe me. Money isn't the issue.) It was the principal. He should've offered to make it right, he should have followed up with us, there's SO much he should've and could've done and didn't. We have been coming to LaPlaya for years. We live an hour away in Weston FL. We could go to the Ritz down the street but we chose your establishment year after year because of the service, the service is just not the same. Carlos' attitude took the cake though. We probably will never return to our disappointment because we loved it there in the past. I honestly cannot believe the experience we had. Still haven't received any kind of follow up and I am still dealing with the car situation and driving a rental. Who's running the place?? LaPlaya's employee crashed into my brand new car and Carlos says it has nothing to do with him. How does that make sense??? How does no one care to provide any sort of customer service. Im appalled.. I cant believe the lack of care or concern and most of all the lies told & rude, terrible attitude. The room was not as clean as it typically is. There were dead bugs in the rail of the sliding door. Sand still in the bathtub. The air conditioning wasn't working great... and when we arrived there were still room service plates outside of the door! The valet and beach set up guys were great! (Only positive factor, you can get that at minimum, anywhere) The beach server (young blonde girl with an accent, don't know her name, she never introduced herself) was down right rude. She attacked us over having a mini cool bag with my 10 month old baby's milk bottles in it because "coolers aren't allowed on the beach" even the other guests around us couldn't believe how rude she was. Should I leave the milk out in the sun to rot??? She needs to be fired but that's a whole other story. By that point I'd felt so abused by their staff I didn't even care anymore I was just ready to go home. The elevator was broken so only one was working. We had to wait atleast 15 minutes...everytime. That was fun holding the baby, and his beach gear, in 90 degree whether (the hallways are outside) and everytime you enter the elevator there's a working taking half of it up with a garbage cart, or laundry cart or room service cart lol the list goes on. I've never been so smushed in an elevator in my life. Thank god Covid is pretty much over. When we checked out we asked again for the higher ups contact info, they refused to give us the directors contact information. To reiterate this... MY CAR WAS CRASHED INTO. MY BRAND NEW CAR!!!! ... and Carlos the RESORT GENERAL MANAGER lied, said it was not LaPlaya's situation to deal with, that it's out of his hands and there's nothing he can do. While saying this he was gesturing washing his hands as in "my hands are clean of this" Oh wait it's even better, when I said "I mean the car only has 200 miles on it and it is instantly depreciated because it was crashed into by your employee, it can't steer and need a whole new axel" and Carlos... again the RESORTS GM says "... it actually has 326 mile on it to be exact." Oh my goodness. You have no idea what it took to not chew this man out. He had such a horrible personality, demeanor and attitude. Im owed an apology, an explanation, I mean hell I'm owed a do over vacation because I need a vacation after that vacation!!! That's how miserable and stressful it has been. With that being said... I need someone to get back to me as I've called and left voicemails to multiple people and no one has called back. I need my car back and no one's is paying the dealership so I can not get it! They told me to pay!!!! Ridiculous!!!!

BEWARE! I believed all the great reviews and the nice pictures I saw online, THEN I actually saw the hotel. You are better off staying at a Holiday Inn. This place was a dump. It smelled moldy, the room was dirty with water spots on the ceiling. The bathroom floor had yellow stains on it by the toilet - I'm guessing they had/have plumbing problems. Not sure, either way it was not sightly. The furniture in the room was old. Even the chaise lounge chair on the balcony had issues. The view from our balcony was excellent, but we just couldn't handle the dirty hotel. Also, they apparently don't have a dress code, so don't be surprised when you see people with no shirts on in the elevators dripping from the pool or ocean. I mean really, you can't dry yourself off and put on a shirt?? The lobby looks like a tired apartment lobby. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. They shouldn't be able to get away with false advertising. Shameful.

Place is amazing. Rob helped us with every thing thank you for making my birthday special. Oh yes yes.

The location of the hotel is perfect but it's extremely overpriced for what it is. The pool area and lobby is nice but could be compared to a Hilton. Nothing special and I paid $1500 for two nights. Won't be coming back due to the price and the fact that it's not the nicest for that price.

Service was very hit-and-miss. The room was decent, and the gentleman who checked us in and to whom we said our goodbyes in the AM was excellent. However, the pool twice had no clean towels, with used ones just strewn about the area. None of the elevators worked one of the days, so we walked up and down the stairs. (This included carrying all of our luggage up the stairs, alone.) There was equipment, paint, etc all along the stairwell. There was construction - and remnants of past construction - all over the place. The bottom level stairwell entrance didn't even have a doorknob, just a hole to stick your hand through to open it. Also, the gym was closed. Overall, although there were decent aspects of our stay, it was not worth the $500+/night.

I visited Naples Florida for the first time. It was a beautiful place and the beaches are amazing! The good and bad about the hotel for any of you trying to find the right place for you to stay. Good 1. Best service was from Ryan at the front desk when we checked in and Sydney the hostess for baleen! They know hospitality! - Beach is steps away and absoltuly beautiful! 2. The team they have attending to the beach and chairs are very good and always friendly. 3. Food was pretty good. The not so good and reason for the 3 stars: 1. The service at the hotel isn't great. We had to call 4 times for house keeping the second day and they never came. 2. The house keeping isn't very nice, they get annoyed if your not ready for them when they arrive which can be anytime depending on rooms before you. 3. We had an ocean front room and unfortunately it was next to a storage closet. Every morning beteeen 8:30-9am we would have loud banging, loud discussion beteeen house keeping with no consideration for who was sleeping. 4. Dirty pillow cases and curtains in the room even after cleaning. Dirty balcony, never sweeter and cleaned during the day. 5. Unfortunately the girl working the coffee bar every morning was very nice but got our breakfest wrong 3 times. Missing orange juice, missing scrambled eggs and for the finally missing an entire meal that was ordered. One afternoon we tried to order a coffee around 4 and we were told " we will see what we can do" by two people who just never returned to take the order and ring us up. The hotel has nice decor and breathe taking views but for the price I have to save service is just okay. Besides the beach and pool attendants no one really says hello, everyone kinda seems bothered if you ask questions and no one goes above and beyond. Keep in mind- this was August off season in Naples Florida. It wasn't busy. Next time I would consider the Ritz Carlton for roughly the same price.

A group of us went to dinner here the other day. We spend a couple hundred dollars on dinner. I accidentally left my sunglasses on the table. I called the next morning and was told "if someone found them, they would be in the lost and found". The lost and found didn't have them. I called back to say I know that I left them on the table. They said again, "if someone found them, they would be in the lost and found". Let's think about this. You clear the table off, you know the glasses you are removing from the table are not utensils, or a wine glass, or a plate. They are sunglasses... and they don't belong to you. The right thing is to put them in the lost and found. They did not. They kept them. I'm glad I don't live at this resort where the employees would steal. We will not return and will tell our friends. Shady. (Pun intended).

The resort was recently refreshed and updated both structurally and aesthetically following the hurricanes last fall. Climbing out of the grips of a Chicago winter, I found myself looking at the resort's web page, which includes live camera footage from the property, quite a few times in the days leading up to my trip here. This was my first visit to Naples so I didn't really have any preconceived ideas. The property itself was inviting. Highlights included the well-appointed suite and private, very spacious balcony. The resort had approximately four floors, our room was on the second floor which worked out well--could take the stairs instead of relying on the elevator, which could occasionally be arthritic. The fitness center was on the smaller side, but I did take a strength training class here one of the days that I enjoyed. The hotel restaurant, Balene, was excellent, and I had a very memorable meal here--seafood is the star of the show--on my first night in. For daily dining, it would have been nice to have some healthier/grab-and-go food selections since not everyone wants to hit up a supermarket on vacation. There is a complimentary USA Today at the front desk and in-room coffee (k cups). I did not get to experience the spa on this visit but my mother, aka travel companion and partner in crime for this trip, spoke highly of her mani-pedi here (note: they even let you take home the polishes, adorable bottles of sparitual offered in a variety of colors). This is not a place to go on the regular, but for a once-in-a-lifetime experience I feel that my time here was rewarding and pleasant.

Wow, thankful for the reviews. False advertising in the pictures; no tiki bar with food for the beach. No nice restaurant, no gym, pool under construction, elevator, horrible experience, one working only halfway, that's dangerous. There was no manager on site with over a $4000 bill for a Four night stay, in a top floor suite, no hot water the first night the construction was far worse than described, noisy, imagine walking 13 floors which would be impossible each time you have to go up or down,Given I am disabled. Then getting in the one Amo working elevator after waiting 20 minutes everyone cramming in with the trash bin or a laundry container... We would have moved, but we had very expensive, guided, tarpon fishing tour each day that could not be changed. Our first breakfast was wonderful when we could make it, but when we went back for dinner at the same place and sat down we were approached and escorted out by a man and woman who said at lunch and dinner,It becomes a private club and hotel guests are not welcome very embarrassing. When we asked the couple asking us to leave, what kind of club it is as they were asking us if we were there to "meet people" we replied no it's just us, they were vague, and their answer only indicating it was private. Who knows what that means..We had already ordered drinks and were asked to pay for those before we left pick them up at the bar and took them to our room. Our incidentals in the minibar we're over $1200. We paid that but to pay for a messed up hotel with plastic hanging everywhere and noise at night, no restaurant so we had to take Uber's to eat after a long day of fishing. Needless to say we will be back at The Four Seasons. Next time I have tried to get a remedy from the hotel left two messages for accounting because there was no manager per se they said they were in between managers. Also this was recommended by our American Express platinum card travel, I'm putting a Amex global dispute in against the hotel. If they are wanting to do good business, they will make it right. I will update if they do. Be for warned. On a positive note, the employees were all very accommodating and apologetic, including a woman who seem to be a manager part time in the elevator standing over filthy laundry when we try to explain. We left early and found a fantastic hotel on our continued time as we are retired it's too bad this could not be one of our options unless they do remedy it.. hurricane did tremendous damage, and hope they all pull it together. This is my first yelp review and I'm so thankful for the other reviews and to know we weren't the only ones that had this bad experience how many people did not post as I never have .

The hotel is a older hotel, but I has such a great feel. Perfect location. The dining was great. We saw a weeding on the grounds when we where there. I have stay at 5 star hotels all over the world, and I love the feel of this hotel. I will be back. They also have a club so you can enjoy this great hotel whenever you want.

This could be a great hotel. The owners did an update instead of a full renovation and it shows. The beach is gorgeous. Unfortunately I could hear traffic from the street, the bathroom marble top had stains and chips, a glass door was added to the bathtub instead of converting it to a shower, there were paint patches on the walls, entry door looked dirty, only one working elevator which both guests and service people were using, pools need cleaning. Staff wise: people seemed busy doing their work that I, as a guest, was an afterthought. If the staff are too busy and unhappy it comes through. They have a restaurant on the beach which I'd been to before their update. It was great..then. I didn't try it on this trip as I was put off all the little things. The hotel could be great but it needs a complete overhaul and the staff need to be re-trained.

On the plus side, location. Unfortunately it's a very tired looking facility. Needs a consistent paint job............they did a lot of touch-ups and the paint does not match. Needs a serious cleaning, deep cleaning. Just look at the edges of the floors......very dirty....lobby, halls. Really, really need to get rid of the in-room whirlpools (with shower) from the 70's. No way can a senior get in and out of the shower as a result of the whirlpool. Staff was great. No place close to eat, other than the hotel......so it's pricy & ok food. So, come for the location.......not the facility.

My husband and I are staying here for six nights. It is our first vacation alone without kids. We have been absolutely blown away by the hospitality of the staff. The hotel is very clean and we felt they are taking every precaution needed for COVID. Nick at the front desk has been so wonderful to us on our stay. Normally food at hotels are not that amazing. The food here has been incredible! We have loved everything we have ordered and their drinks are strong & wonderful. We would absolutely recommend this hotel. Location is perfect & rooms, lobby and pools are up to date and fabulous!

Be aware that this resort is nothing like the pictures online. entire place needs to be torn down to the studs and rebuilt. if the walls aren't filthy, there are several Coats of paint slopped over them. Old everything. Bed squeaked through the night and mattress needed replacing. Had wonderful waitresses in the bar as well as the restaurant. NOT WORTH THE EXPENSE

Great location and food has always been great we went there today waitress said you did not get your food yet I said No it has been 30 min she brought out food right away everything was cold french fries served with cocktail sauce my shrimp PO boy sandwich was cold and and had the shrimp the shells still on it did not see a waitress for 30 min to return the food to her unreal

Hotel is in a lovely location with a wide, attractive sugar sand beach. Well attended beach with all services. The food at the the main restaurant is excellent. Imaginative and delicious. Lively tiki bar with all tropical drinks! We had a great stay. However there are few improvements i would suggest: the dull and unwelcoming reception area, could use a make over. The rooms are small. There is no full length mirror, nor any offer of a daily paper at your door. At these prices there should be. The turn down service does not leave a chocolate on your pillow! The rooms definitely need a refresh, new carpets, cushions and upholstered seating. Staff were all very helpful. We had a great stay but there is room for improvement.

3.5 stars for La Playa. My husband and I came to La Playa this past summer to celebrate our honeymoon. After spending more than I'd ever like to say out loud on our wedding and several months planning, we didn't have the finances or energy to plan a more elaborate honeymoon. My requirements were that it not require a long or international flight, but that it feel like the Caribbean. We researched several Florida-area hotels before deciding on Naples, FL (our first time in Naples) and La Playa. La Playa is on a street largely populated with condo buildings and enormous single family homes that belong to people who must either come from generations of wealth or who sold off some kind of tech company/app. La Playa has a tower on the bay side and the "beach house," a smaller 3-4 story building on the ocean side. Don't be too hesitant, though, to stay across the road. It's not a very busy street and it's just one lane each way. The hotel itself requires valet parking, so be sure to account for that daily expense. There's a restaurant within the hotel. We didn't eat here, but you may want to familiarize yourself with this bar, though, as there isn't much else around La Playa. About the area: La Playa is in a pretty suburban area, so there's very little to do right near the hotel. When we were visiting, the Ritz Carlton, just a short ways down the beach from La Playa, was under renovation, so that was not an option for dining. Other than the Ritz Carlton, there's a restaurant inside of what appears to be a long-term condo rental resort called the Turtle Club. It's right on the water, but very pricey and average food. There's two beach bar/dive bar sort of deals at the end of the road, about a 8 minute walk from La Playa. During the day, it doubles as a bagel/coffee shop/pizza joint, and is filled with a steady stream of college-aged beach goers (the public beach is at the end of the road that La Playa is on). Downtown Naples is a 20 minute or so cab ride from La Playa. It's a cute little downtown, filled largely with Italian restaurants. There are plenty of restaurants there, but pay attention to the hours. If you're in Naples during summer, the off season, several restaurants and bars close early or close on weekdays. About 3 miles from the hotel is a place called Mercado, which was recommended to us by several taxi drivers/hotel workers. I didn't get the hype. It is essentially an open air shopping mall/condo complex. Skip it. Beach: You won't find crystal blue waters here, on the Gulf of Mexico side of FL, but the views are nice, and you'll find some good shells. If you wake up early, you may see a dolphin swimming pretty close to shore. I saw one 3 mornings in a row -- pretty incredible! There's beach service, just raise the flag on your chair for a drink or snack. There's also a pool-side bar. Drinks are not strong, but the bartenders were friendly. 20% tip automatically added to any drink or food purchase. Additional notes: La Playa is certainly a nice resort, but little things about it it show you it's not kept up as well as a place of this price should. For example, the bathrooms at the pool weren't attended to nearly as frequently as is needed, and the other common areas of the hotel suffered, too: there was broken pieces from a glass bottle near the elevator on our floor for the whole period of our stay, elevator buttons didn't light, hall smelled musty, walls and doors had scuffed or peeling paint. We saw many used plastic cups scattered along the property, in the rocks or grassy areas. Spa: The spa was pretty disappointing. There is no real lounge area like you'd expect in a resort spa. There's no jacuzzi tub to lounge in before or after your services. There are no locker rooms. Just one bathroom with a standard tub. We had a couples massage. The massages were ok, but after getting them, we wouldn't do it again. We are willing to pay nutty prices for resort massages, as we have done several times on past vacations. But they were not worth the exorbitant prices. Despite the masseuses asking the areas we wanted focused on and level of pressure we preferred, the masseuses just spent a short period of time on the targeted areas and used light pressure. We didn't feel rejuvenated as we had hoped. Staff: Overall, almost every staff member we came into contact with was exceedingly friendly and helpful. We mentioned at check in that we were there for our honeymoon. When we got back to our room after checking out the resort, there were chocolates and a small wine bottle waiting, which was a nice touch. Overall, La Playa and Naples was a nice honeymoon, but don't expect the resort to be as impressive as somewhere you'd maybe find in the Caribbean -- though you'll be paying as if you were at a top island resort. I'm not sure I'd return, but we were happy to come here and have our easy, relaxing little honeymoon get away.

Honesty is not there policy Booked this hotel 5 months in advance. We booked the beach access casita suite (pretty sure it's one of the most expensive rooms). I had called to see if there was any construction activity and I was told no, however, they did not mention the construction across the street banging and sawing all day! When I was checking in, I asked if the room was located near the end of the building and I was told it was in the middle. It was next to last room from the end. So I returned to the front desk and spoke to the gentlemen who checked us in, he said he would see if he had any other options. The women working with him said rudely that that was the room I booked and that the property was full! I get the feeling here that the club members have priority over guests. Not sure if it's true but it seems like the staff can't do enough for some people and I definitely don't feel I'm one of those people.

LaPlaya has been less than impressive during our very stay. The bed sheets and blanket covers were all rather wet seemingly due to an incomplete drying job during the laundry process. Different sheets were wet to different degrees, some sheets were so wet, to a point where I had to call the service desk to have a brand new set of sheets delivered to our room to replace them before we can go to bed. The replacement sheets were a bit drier but still not ideal. We had to just put them on and call it a day. The original sheets we got were literally so wet that my feet got moisturized very well by just staying intact with them. This morning I went down to get breakfast. Their food here is mostly very good except for this fruit cup that contained some aged and even one molded blackberry. We decided not eat the fruits for good. See pictures for details.

This is a terrific place to see a sunset. Dinner though is inconsistent. Ceviche had much too much vinegar and lemon which totally overwhelms the ingredients. It was nice and chilled though. Short rib was delicious. Salmon was way overcooked. You can just about get better prepared salmon anywhere.(La Playa should get Longhorn's recipe) Fresh linguini and clams mediocre. The portion was small and for $42.00 , was this night's special ripoff. Key lime pie was really a key lime cube. It was very good though. The chocolate cake was excellent. All in all a nice evening but $173 a couple (including tip) is an expensive way to see a sunset. I will come back though for drinks and small dishes.

La Playa Beach and Golf Everything about this hotel is top notch! The valet staff is terrific! The front desk staff was also wonderful! The concierge staff was extraordinary. ARMAND DIPIETRO Concierge worked diligently with me via email back and forth over several weeks to help me secure the right room, dining reservations, suggestions for fireworks and more. He was great as was DIANE MARKELON Concierge who was also on top of everything and both responded asap whenever I emailed. I had a wonderful room..Very nicely decorated ...Beachy contemporary, a beautiful room that opens right up onto a walkway to the sand and I loved that. Comfortable bed, but pillows not so much, lacking in the room was a full length mirror, which is kind of essential for an oceanfront room where women want to see what they look like before heading out to the beach. Also, a good, illuminated makeup mirror would also be nice! On the beach they will bring you the chairs and umbrellas and they have a very nice system where you put a little flag up and a waiter will come and takes your food/cocktail order on the beach...delivered to your chair. Very nice. We ate at Baleens which is reputed to be one of the most romantic waterfront restaurants in all of Florida and I could see how it would be with the right person. The seating is right overlooking the ocean, with a lower level right on the sand where you can dine or sit around a fire pit. The Grouper dinner is their specialty of the house which my friend had and enjoyed. I requested the fish tacos which were not on the dinner menu but are on the all day in-room dining menu, the staff was able to accommodate me, and they were delicious! I did not spend any time at the pool front Tiki Bar-but many people did. There are two pools, one smaller than the other and they too are lovely...although I spent all my time on the ocean. I wanted to get a massage on Sunday afternoon but was told the spa is not open on Sundays. It should be-after all most vacationers are there on weekends. I regretfully was not able to enjoy a waverunner ride, but there is a concession and the water was very flat two of the days which would have made for an enjoyable ride. The hotel room was immaculate when we arrived and kept that way by the sweetest, friendliest, most accommodating housekeeper ever-an adorable ILIRJANA DERVIHAJ. All in all everything you could ask for in a hotel-Beautiful, Extraordinary Concierge, Magnificent oceanfront venue. Exceptional Service, Every hotel staff person Super Friendly, Great room, Superior housekeeping, Wonderful food...I recommend!

Nice staff and beach. However, for the price, we were very underwhelmed. The pool we sat by was full of leaves & debris, sink water never got hot, bottled water in the room was $9 apiece. Lots of little things that kept it from being anything close to a five star experience.

I stayed here for one night and I was very satisfied. The beach house room facing the ocean was incredible. The sound of the waves on the beach was extremely relaxing. The room was huge and very clean. I highly recommend a stay here.

A repeat visit to LaPlaya for a quick 2 night get-away. Service excellent, everyone friendly and property very clean. Dinner on the patio was excellent - great food quality. We stayed in room #510 - direct beach front - spacious with all the amenities we needed (refrigerator, coffee etc., balcony with furniture). The room is starting to show its age and that is why a 4 star rating. The floor carpet was stained and the shower had slow pressure primarily because of the tub/shower faucet not turning the shower on all the way. Excellent location, friendly tiki-bar staff etc...just in need of a little room re-freshing - especially for the cost of over $700 per night. We didn't visit the spa this time but have in the past, and it was great. No doubt, we will return in the future

Everything seems in order. Nice property, friendly staff and beach front. Room was good. Some small maladies keep it to 4 stars. AC leakage staining hall carpets. Loose plug in the room (see photo). But overall well appointed. Valet is very quick, meeting facility and food served was also on point.

Tony knows everything behind the bar. He will remember your face and MULTIPLE drink orders. No kidding I came with 6 drinks several time and as soon as he saw me he was on point. Then I brought 4 more drink orders to the table! HE REMEMBERED THEM!!! I'm Thoroughly impressed also Georgiana Holly are super sweet

La playa people makes La Playa my go to destination when I am in the west coast of Florida. Newly renovated rooms, excellent service from the restaurants, the event personnel, the housekeeping... everything is up to your expectations.. and if anything is not, they will fix it right away!!!! Great for profesional gathering, families and friends..

We stayed here for our honeymoon, and really enjoyed ourselves here. The beach access in the hotel is so convenient and makes it worthwhile. The staff is friendly and the food was delicious downstairs at the Baileen restaurant. The room was clean and the valet was great. I'm giving it 4 start only because you better bring your wallet. Each meal is about $100-250, plus extra drinks at the bars and if you get service on the beach. We stayed for 5 days so we spent a pretty little penny. If you're trying to look for a budget friendly resort, this isn't the place. But overall great atmosphere and great service.

This is one of the most disgusting places I have ever been. We checked in for 2 nights and were paying about 600 a night. Our room on the Third floor in the beach house had bugs smashed all over the ceiling. At first I thought it was just dirty and when I took a closer look they were bugs!!! The shower was disgusting and I was nervous to go barefoot. I'm upset because we were really looking forward to a nice room. The towels at the pool were all stained and I had to wait as the staff went through loads of towels to find my clothes because they picked up our towels from our chairs with my clothes on it before we were even done. I will say the staff is very very nice and friendly and accommodating but I am so turned off by our experience.

Wow!!! We originally were supposed to honeymoon in Hawaii but due to the pandemic landed on Naples. So glad we chose this resort! The service was outstanding, not to mention everyone was extremely friendly. The amenities you can't beat, restaurant, bar, tiki bar, beach side service and bikes. Also, restaurants and shopping all within 10 minutes or less. We will definitely be back! Thank you La Playa for an amazing stay!!!

You only pay for the view, the property is old and needs an update, they only have 2 elevators that you share with the service staff, and at the time I was there only one elevator was working, and the only elevator that was working broke, leaving me and my baby going up and down 8 floors through the stairs. I mentioned to the front desk how it affected me and they didn't show any genuine sympathy. I gotta say I'm so frustrated of staying at this place! I'm sorry we spent money at this place. Definitely not relaxing. Not coming back.

Not quite the experience I would expect given the price of this place. The view was great but it was hard to appreciate with the amount of exterior construction going on - something we were not advised would be happening when we checked in. We figured it out the following morning at 8am, after a late night with our wedding party (something they knew we were a part of as the wedding was at their resort.) It was incredibly time consuming and frustrating trying to get a hold of anyone at the front desk. I was caught in some endless loop of no one answering so it circle back through the menu to ring the front desk again. 4 cycles later, I did get a hold of someone to ask about a clothes hook (we were given a handicap room and were going to a wedding and needed the full length) I was never given a return call as promised. I called back asking for a room change and they did move us to a much better and quiter room that had a full length clothes bar. We didn't notice until the next morning that the room had ants. We were checking out that day so it didn't seem worth saying anything. Even though we were told check out was at noon, we must have received 10 one ring phone calls starting at 9am until 10:30am until housekeeping knocked on our door and asked us when we were leaving. Not a great first or last impression with this place. For quality and customer service, this place is grotesquely overpriced.

Good: Room is as pictured online Beach is beautiful (staff will set up chairs and umbrella for you) The tiki bar food is amazing, unlike any other pool food I have had. Many pools and a hot tub Bad: They say the WiFi is "high speed internet", it was horrible. The WiFi only worked on the deck or the beach. To buy "high speed WiFi" it's $12+ tax only for 24 hours!!! Probably spend $50 on WiFi over the course of a week and i would definitely not consider it high speed. BUGS. Right when we got here we noticed these small spider/ants on our end tables and in the bathrooms sinks. One morning my purse was filled with bugs.

We loved our stay here! Great location, wonderful pool and the butler service was so helpful. Drinks were pretty pricey ($30+ for two pina coladas) but we just went to Publix and got our own. You can bring your own drinks to the pool. The room was huge with a big balcony! The bathroom was nice and I actually enjoyed the smell of the toiletries. Would definitely recommend this resort & would stay here again.

Great experience like always . Beautiful views of the ocean and everything so clean during this pandemic issue as well . I have been here more than a hand full of times and it's always a pleasure to stay in this hotel . Great food in there restarauant and great atmosphere all together .

We stayed here on my birthday 6/10/19 for a few nights. - 14th floor overlooking the gulf - we had a suite and the room was beautiful, and well as the sunsets. Best "staycation" to date. - we live in Naples and could of stayed anywhere. We chose Laplya because if you want the best service, best food and best beach in Naples Florida, then this is the place

Waking up on the water, at the beautiful beachfront golf resort of LaPlaya in Naples was like a dream. The sound of the waves meeting the shore each morning was like a cool and refreshing kiss. The cool breeze, the warmth of the sunset and the delicious food was a beautiful culmination of wonderful-ness that exceeded my expectations. And the service...from the time I arrived until the time I left was nothing less than stellar. Staff and representatives of the resort (especially Armand) were kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. I want to salute the chef and waitstaff at the resort restaurant Baleen... accommodating service, fresh seafood (lobster risotto, king crab truffle risotto cake...mouthwatering) succulent desserts (mango rum bread pudding with toasted coconut flakes, and the chocolate Kahlúa cake... omg!!). My birthday weekend at LaPlaya was amazing!!! Can't wait to visit again soon.

Perfect Boutique Resort on the beach! Only complaint is that the pools are chilled so much that you cants get in the pools. We had seasonably cold weather for Naples in October so it may have been fine if weather was ideal... Rooms were beautiful, beds were comfortable, food was great! Highly recommend!

It really deserves 4 stars.. But I'm sure its worthy of those during the peak season. What we saw on line versus what we saw when we got here were two different realities. The hotel is on the beach and with a very short walk the the beautiful water (which they have nothing to do with) that's a built in home run. There's plenty of activities to do from Jet-sking, paddle board, to just relaxing and having a server come by with a cocktail or lunch. With that said be prepared to shell it out.. Our 1st round.. 3 drinks + automatic 20% gratuity (which i'm fine about) $40+ dollars.. yup. 3 drinks.. 2 cocktails and 1 beer = 40+ dollars.. No coolers, outside drinks or food is permitted so just suck it, you're on vacation. Once off the beach we were hoping to sit at the lovely tiki bar they have pictured, but it was closed all week while renovations on the main building were taking place.. so can't do that. There was a make shift bar available w about 4 bar stools.. thanks but no thanks. So to the pool we go which is lovely. Again, lunch for 3 people with cocktails, $150. so be prepared. One nice bonus, the staff from valet, room service, and the servers/bartenders couldn't of been more pleasant. We never waited for our car, rooms were always clean, room service came promptly, towels and chair set up for the beach was in seconds. 1st class service all round. Lastly, we were hoping to enjoy one night by the fires they advertise, but that section was closed (out of season) and the dining room (Bellini) was all enclosed (unlike the open air pictures with burning torches they advertise) which then you looked out to scaffolding with hints of the beach in site. So my advice here.. go during the "busy season." Hotel had plenty of potential for wonderful things.. we just didn't get to experience it all while still paying for it through the nose $$$
