The Best Cinnamon Rolls In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Elegant and manageably sized, L’Appartement 4F’s laminated cinnamon roll is a perfect choice for a practical solo outing in the West Village or Brooklyn Heights. It’s crisp and flaky, with a butter-forward personality and a thick gob of cream cheese icing on top." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, will hartman

The Best Croissants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"The original L'Appartement 4F is in Brooklyn Heights, but we prefer the second location in the West Village. It’s just a takeout window on 10th Street where you can walk up, pet a dog, and grab a croissant that’s still warm from the oven. Crackly on the outside and stretchy in the middle, the pastries glisten in the sunlight in a way that seems supernatural but is, in fact, easily explained by butter overload. Take a napkin, and add a chocolate-almond croissant mashup to your order." - willa moore, bryan kim, sonal shah, will hartman

Must try bakery in the West Village, known for their croissants. Try the raspberry. Arrived just before 11am on a Saturday and they had most items available. Recommend getting there before Noon as items start to sell out. Raspberry had an intense raspberry flavor with a hint of sourness. I loved the flavor. But it was a little sweet and could do without the marzipan which complements but a little restraint would make it better. Chocolate almond croissant was a close second but also too sweet. Would have preferred chunks of chocolate with more intense chocolate flavor instead of the cream with the marzipan. Order comes in a bag unless you request a box. It was fine but items could get smashed if you aren’t careful. I had it with a Cappuccino👍 Overall, it’s a great operation and a must try for the area. I hope they iterate on less sweet options.

I’ve been on a mission across the States & Canada to find the best almond croissant and this place absolutely takes the cake. Hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The flavors were incredible, but what really stood out was the texture and freshness, truly a 10/10!!!!

Truly one of best bakeries here in the city! We arrived at this famous bakery early morning w no wait. We got croissants, cinnamon rolls, cookie, pistachios croissants, and a sourdough loaf. All were incredibly delicious w the exception of the cookie being more of a sugary cookie/bakery style rather than a thicker fluffier kind. All were delicious and def need to come back and try out their coffee bar!

I visited on a weekday afternoon after seeing this place recommended on social media as one of the best croissant spots in the city. I wanted to try both the raspberry almond and pistachio croissants, but when I arrived just after 1pm, the raspberry was already sold out. I ended up getting a pistachio croissant and a cold brew. The shop is strictly takeout, so you order from the window outside. The weather was nice, so I could enjoy my food outdoors, but I imagine it might be tough on a bad weather or cold day. The pistachio croissant was pretty tasty—slightly soft in the center, but still flavorful. It was a bit small for $8, but it made me even more curious to come back and try the raspberry one next time!

There are definitely stand outs at this bakery. Both the raspberry croissant and the raspberry kouign amann were insanely good, flavor and texture wise. But the chocolate croissant was mediocre, not enough chocolate and texture wasn’t flakey/crispy, it was soft and bready (it was eaten right away). Olive bread was just okay as well. We waited about 20 mins or so 10am on a Saturday.

After hearing so much about this viral bakery in Brooklyn that opened up in West Village, I finally decided to check it out. I ordered the pistachio croissant which was decent but nothing special. However, I actually was pleasantly surprised by their coffee. A decent take-out spot, but I think I would only come back if there were not a line. Certainly not worth waiting in line early on a Sunday morning for me personally.

Plain (best?) croissant: texture A+ , flavor B+ Green olive focaccia: A-. Love the full olive coverage on top, would love to see even more olives inside! Fine, charge me more, I want it!! No line on a Monday at noon :)

Probably the best butter croissant I've ever had, both flaky and rich. Other pastries looked great too; wish I'd been able to sample them all! Very good espresso.
