This was one of the top hotels we stayed at during our trip. The breakfast was fresh and excellent, the rooms were comfortable, the terrace was gorgeous, and the hotel overall had a luxurious feel. However, the front desk staff, in particular, had a snobbish attitude. Despite the hotel's impressive amenities, the staff was the most unhelpful we encountered on our trip.
They initially told us a room was available for an extra night, but on the morning of, informed us they had overbooked with no real effort to assist in rebooking. They also arranged a taxi to the wrong restaurant. Additionally, we asked the front desk to make a restaurant reservation for us, but when we arrived the next day, the restaurant had no record of it. I emailed the hotel for clarification but received no response. Their lack of communication and dismissive attitude was off-putting. It was incredibly frustrating to get any kind of help from them.
Interestingly, we stayed at a few less upscale hotels during the trip, and their staff was outstanding—booking taxis instantly, helping us exchange money, you name it, it was done with ease and a smile. It showed that things can be simple when the staff is willing to make an effort.
