Nice pub with various different areas to explore. Menu is pretty diverse and interesting, but definitely on the pricier side of pub food (especially in this area). Food was decent if unremarkable, but various things were lukewarm at best. Advised staff who didn't seem overly bothered. Probably wouldn't eat again anytime soon.

Location and setting is superb! The beautiful scenery of the jetty and ocean at your doorsteps. Such Romantic sunsets and sunrises. The food was drinks on offer are your standard pub meals, but the view and atmosphere are the highlights. The building itself is stunning and just beautiful if you like a big of heritage vibe. The rooms we stayed in are dated but the staff are super friendly and helpful, checking in and out was easy. Parking available on street or at rear.

Came here for lunch. When we arrived there was no greeting, so we went to the counter to get our own menus and look for a table. I noticed there was a booked table inside of about 10-15 people. When we arrived to our table outside it was filthy - a girl suddenly appeared to clean it for us. When we decided what we wanted we ordered and then got informed it would be a 45 minute wait just because they had a big booking or two which isn't the customer's problem, may as well have turned us away.. We were starving so I'm glad we got an entree. Our cocktails took forever to come out to us and while they looked good, they were not nice nor good value for the price. We watched people leave after their meals and staff would clear the plates but not clean the tables which is disgusting! When our food finally arrived, chips weren't crispy, bugger all gravy and a massive serving of salad. I had a beef schnitzel and it was tough to cut through.. it's like you could taste stress in the food.. The deck area is nice but it could definitely use some more shade.. I think next time we'll go elsewhere, where good customer service is important to all customers and not just the 10-15 person booking you clearly weren't prepared for.

My partner and I had breakfast at the Largs Pier Hotel this morning and absolutely loved it. The food was deliciousand full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a beautiful setting that made the experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out was the staff, super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend

We had a lovely 5 night stay here. It was the perfect base to explore Adelaide, we could come back from the city and have a swim in the very safe swim beach opposite the hotel. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a very busy bar and restaurant. The food is very nice but huge portions! The train station to the city is a 5 minute walk from the hotel but if you want a day off from city it’s a lovely walk along the beach to semophore. When we were here it was lovely to see all the boats from the local sail club out and also the kite surfers the next day when it was windier. The room was enormous. Slightly old fashioned furniture but some of the others had a more modern feel so ours might be next. We were on the top floor and to be able to use the balcony was a joy. I definitely recommend

Come to stay as hubby had appointment, good place to stay, staff are very friendly and helpful. Was a cold day,but when it's good weather it's a nice walk down the jetty across the road. We have stayed a few times before and always happy with everything.

We were very excited to book a heritage room and happy to pay a ( much ) higher rate as it was described as luxury accommodation. What we got was a basic motel room. Nothing luxurious about it apart from 16 foot ceilings. Tiny bathroom with no bathtub and when the curtains were drawn there were holes in them. We ventured out onto the balcony and could see right into the room next door so for privacy we had to keep the curtains shut therefore no views. No coffee machine on offer just the usual hard instant coffee sachets and teabags with 6 small long life sachets in the minibar. We have stayed in historical hotels in the past and they at least provided a small jug of fresh milk daily. |The staff were lovely which made our overnight stay slightly better. |There are far better luxury hotels available for up to $50 to $100 a night cheaper that do deliver on luxury.

I honestly don’t write reviews, but I do feel compelled to write one here. My partner and I ate here for dinner, it was busy so we actually said “I hope that’s a good sign”. Service was very friendly, food was ….. so sadly, the worst food money can buy and it was on the pricey side for pub food. My partner and I enjoy a good pub feed and we’ve been all around Adelaide. This was by far the worst we’ve had. It’s pretty hard to get a chicken schnitzel so wrong (it was cold, soggy and tough in places) and my crispy chicken and avocado burger came out with the fake avocado that you get out of a tube and It tasted off, chicken was soggy and the chips were obviously the last chips out of the bowl (crusted in salt, hard and hollow) inedible. We couldn’t eat it, and we were hungry. Just super dissatisfied and disappointing. Before we got our food, there was a table next to us, the elderly man had sent his steak back twice and then ordered a pie, by that stage everyone had finished their food, but we thought, oh what a fussy man and how awkward for everyone, the waiter was even a little condescending to the guy, but I understand hospo and thought the man was being a difficult customer. Then we got our food, and well, we couldn’t be bothered dealing with sending it back. If that’s what your happy to send out, then you have no passion for the quality you are putting on a plate.

Yelp
This place is pretty flash, though considering that not only is it a beachside pub, but that it is an old beach side pub, then I am not really all that surprise. In fact, as a pub, it is actually pretty cool. The staff were quite friendly, and the atmosphere was pretty good. In fact I did quite like sitting on the verandah, particularly since you do get a pretty good view of the ocean. Oh, and they also have some nice beers on tap as well.

Yelp
As I live within Adelaide, I don't have too much experience staying at hotels within the area, but Largs Pier Hotel Motel is lives up to expectations! I stayed here in a heritage room after my wedding and dined downstairs at the restaurant which have views of the beach. The room I had was pretty basic but the "old style" furniture such as the Chesterfield's add to the vibe of it being heritage. The only downside would be that the floors are super creaky so I could hear the people in the room above walking around. All the staff I interacted with are really friendly and I had a great experience within the two days I stayed here.

Yelp
Love the decor, feels like something from an earlier time with the service to match. Sitting with the strife and monsters, with a cold brew, pizza and salad when the clouds are overhead and the cold is overwhelming, makes for a lovely environemnt. In the summer sitting outside looking over the road, grass, beach and out to the pier is similarly enjoyable.

Yelp
Brilliant Hotel come here quite a few times now the staff are always friendly and there is a great vibe with the furnishings in the bar area great views out to the beach and sunset depending on the time. The food is always fantastic and the wait times are minimal I feel the pricing is a little bit too high however it's easily overlooked due to the atmosphere of the venue

Yelp
We came here for dinner last night and the Salty Pig pizza ruled my world. Prosciutto, ham, bacon, cheese... it was a fresh and fatty dream. This pizza, combined with a bowl of delicious sea salt fries with home made garlic aoili and I was in high fat heaven. What a great meal, the best pizza I've had for ages. The only downer was, after ordering our food I had to carry our bread basket and side plates to the table myself. I mean come on now, they charge thirty dollars for a steak here, but the waiters can't carry your cutlery to the table for you? Were they all on smoko's when I ordered? We had to go back again and ask for butter knives! Cheeky cheeky. They have a good wine list here and as already noted, the location is beautiful. These Largs folk have won a few awards for their accommodation too: sadly I couldn't woo anyone into letting me have a look at the rooms, so we'll have to trust the good word of the AHA that Largs does a good sleepover as well as a good meal. Boyfriend reported they have not one, but two flat screen televisions in the urinal. Are they just showing off or what?

Yelp
This monolith stands out day and night along the foreshore of Largs Bay. Both the interior and exterior remind me of some scenic safari lodge that would lavishly sit amongst a sleepy african plane or in the middle of some impoverished town. With beautiful arch window exteriors and an interior full of paddle fans and cane furniture making you feel like your stepping into the scene of The African Queen, it is luxe but doesn't make you feel like you have to be wearing a collar to enter. Needless to say myself and another sandy, sweaty beach bum trundled up here the other day after a beach walk and were greeted by friendly bar staff who poured us a drink. The bar menu is typical pub Coopers style, but if you look hard enough you will see some James Squire on tap, Vale in the fridge and a couple of other nicer beers on the menu. The menu is typical pub fare, but it is well priced, unpretentious and again has a touch of gourmet without being pretentious. I mean who wouldn't want goat fetta cheese with their olives and garlic bread? And instead of tub dips they put on some nice garlicy house made dips too. They also earn an extra half star for serving free bread (even if you are just ordering entrees to share). For $14.95 you can get a fair serving of a seafood platter that would be worth sharing and instead also ordering some side salad or one of their pizza/dip starters. The ambiance is relaxed with a mix of families, beach bums, young friends and first dates all dining and drinking here without the doof doof music and bad pick up lines. All in all this is one of my pubs of choice for watching a beach sunset from.

Yelp
...complete with a Jimmy Barnes song and a special place in history... as Australian's first drive through bottle shop! Stunning beachside hotel that's worth the drive (30min from CBD). There are hotel and motel rooms. Leave the motel for another time, you want to be in the hotel, in a room with high ceilings, tall windows and doors that open onto the balcony. Because it's an old building, you'll be sharing the balcony with others on your floor. This reduces your privacy, but I didn't find it to be an issue. The bistro atmosphere is OK, but outside is nicer. Good food and great scenery to boot! A popular local hangout for good reason.

Yelp
Well priced meals. $9.90 kids meals are an absolute bargain with huge meals plus a drink and ice cream. Menu is wide and varied with typical pub grub and restaurant styled food. Front bar is a place where you can take kids for a meal. When we arrived the 'Pier' was quite busy with meals and a wedding in the main dining area. I was expecting a long wait after ordering with 2 adults and kids for my daughters birthday. The meals arrived within 15 minutes. The service was fantastic and accomodating and the view to the beach spectacular.

Yelp
One of South Australia most unique hotel and it doubles up as both a hotel (upstairs) and motel (downstairs). The Pier restaurant, one of my favourites after a swim in the beach offers a good and reasonably priced menu. It offers a lovely ambience with rich warm timber floors perfect for a casual and fine dining. They have a full bar, good wine list and al fresco dining which are just perfect to catch the summer breeze from the ocean. Ladies will enjoy the Friday $10 Cocktail Hour with selections of 'French Vanilla Martini', 'Kiss on the Lips' & 'Life is Peachy', just to name a few. The best feature they have to offer is their drive in bottle shop, Sip and Save. Apparently they were the first hotel in SA to open a drive in bottle shop in 1953. Don't forget to drive through and take in the historical charm Largs Pier has to offer.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at the fabulous fare for 3 diners ordered on ANZAC Day. 2 out-of-this-world pizzas - the salty pig and the lamb, pumpkin & fetta - were both ordered as part of a lunch special which included a pint/glass of vino with a main for $18.90 each. Salt and pepper squid (so overdone and often mediocre), was surprisingly good. Lovely views over the esplanade and sparkling ocean, and an iconic architectural building served as the perfect backdrop. A walk along the beach helps to offset the extra calories! Better than expected.

Yelp
Blimey!!!! I was reluctant to go to this place and was convinced to head out of the city and was shocked by the awesome patio, great staff, lovely interior, and frankly amazing food. There were three of us and we couldn't decide what to get so ordered 4 main meals and then proceeded to fight each other like starved idiots for the entire duration of the eating frenzy that occurred. There was a bloke on a guitar inside that wafted out over the patio and some friendly people at every adjacent table to shoot the soft beachside breeze with. A walk on the beach afterwards helps the digestion too :) I'd highly recommend this place

Yelp
Nice outdoor dining space, though watch out! The tables out front are bolted to the ground, so you can't move them together to accommodate a larger party. Small selection of vegetarian options though shared a wonderful roast zucchini flower, onion jam, eggplant caviar, brie & rocket pizza, a margarita pizza (with diced fresh tomatoes) and a Greek salad (oddly not listed on the menu). Kid and dog friendly, and a view to the beach :)

Yelp
Standing at the front bar is like being under water during a regatta. Paddle, or vertical ceiling fans, are a fascinating contraption. Largs Pier Hotel is a beautiful building. Standing on the corner of Jetty Road and the Esplanade dominantly and resembling a beacon. It attracts an immense variety of people--families, daters, bikies, footy players, inner city yuppes; the lot! Expectedly, the drinks list has something for the entire clientele. The food: we didn't eat there, nor did we spot a menu for a peruse. In fact, slight gripe. I stood at the bar and couldn't spot a single wine menu until I found a pile of them down the other end. I had to proceed through the sea of punters and excuse myself a million times in order to retrieve one. How impractical. REQUEST TO ALL PUB/BAR/CLUB MANAGERS: Litter your menus throughout the venue. Make it easy. Beautiful building. The staff well-presented if a little apathetic. Good wine list. Diverse crowd. 3/5.

Yelp
Drinkers share platter was the perfect accompany to a few brewskis. Chorizo, salt n pepper calamari, meat balls, chicken and beef skewers hit the spot.

Yelp
Once a very popular 70's hot spot, the Largs Pier Hotel has had a modern transformation over the years but is still remembered as somewhere where AC/DC played, and that is reason enough to make it worth a look! There is a really nice restaurant and a separate bar and a selection of hotel and motel rooms with great views over a balcony onto the beautiful beach below. Food wise I would definitely recommend the wood oven pizzas, they are amazing and really crispy and make a change from the traditional schnitzel that you are usually faced with (not that I am complaining because there is nothing wrong with a perfect schnitzel!) The staff were also nice and one girl waitressing our table made great small talk at the table which was actually interesting and pleasant and not just annoying and a boring necessity.

Yelp
Limited experience with this place, really only a dinner, but what I saw, I liked. I had a garlic bread and schnitzel, and I was really quite pleased with what I ended up with. The serving was fairly large, the veggies were nicely cooked and it wasn't terribly expensive. It wasn't hugely busy when I went, but even so, I was fairly happy with the speed of the meal's arrival. It felt like I'd only just ordered, although it was probably a good ten or fifteen minutes. Even so, I reckon that's pretty good.

Yelp
If you wanna beat the hustle and bustle of Semaphore in summer, drive like 1 minute further up the esplanade and you will hit Largs Bay (at the next jetty). My boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend went here for lunch today, and the food and setting was amazing. It wasn't cheap but I had a chicken caesar salad with lots of crunchy lettuce, salty crispy bacon, shaved parmesan, grilled chicken, croutons and an oozy poached egg with a delicious caesar dressing for around $23. There is plenty of outdoor seating, semi closed in, and you can look across the road to the beach. The service was fine and the meals came quick. We then walked over to the beach and strolled in the sun and waded in the water, then went back to our car which we parked right out front!

Yelp
Food is pretty good. I stayed there for a while and loved their namesake breakfast. Dinners are pretty good too. Place has a view of the beach, great for walks.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a cheeky drink in the sun by the beach? This old style hotel is an absolute wonder, from accommodation offering to front bar menus to the full restaurant these guys have got a lot going for them. I tried their lamb shank special and I was impressed, everything that you would expect to find in a hearty winter meal was provided. It seems that they have mastered all seasons, summer, winter maybe a quick spring fling. Make sure you consider these guys for your next night out, function or Sunday afternoon session. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Nice bar drinks are a little expensive but the friday happy hour is real good value. Staff are amazing and really helpful. Hotel rooms are great and have a nice view over the water.

Yelp
Beautiful location and delicious food! Bonus points for being my local :) Also had a work function here last year which was put together really well, right amounts of food and bought out at the right time, unlike other places that bombard you with food at the beginning then neglect you for the rest of the night. Would definitely return and recommend to others!

Yelp
Had breakfast there a few times, and the food has always been good. The staff are friendly and professional. A lovely place to start the day, and it is dog friendly in the outside dining area.

Yelp
Food was great, but that's about it. Made a lunch booking but when we arrived we weren't booked in, the reception area is shambolic and our initial staff member was untrained. Ordered a bottle of wine from the menu only to be told that doesn't exist, when shown the menu bar staff said that's a very old menu - about three year's old. So, off to a great start. Then ordered a Riesling only to be given a Rose. At this point I'm thinking Fawlty Towers and decided to make light of the whole situation. We waited 1.5 hours between entree and mains. A couple of key staff were great, unfortunately not enough to make up for the overall poor service. Is it worth returning for the food? Will come back one night for dinner to see if it was just a bad day.

Yvette R.

Yelp
Went here for my husbands birthday last night and what a pleasant surprise. The decor is lovely, staff all very friendly and helpful and the menu is huge and everything we ate was extremely tasty. I had taken a birthday cake and they were so helpful to find candles and bring out a cake knife and plates etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be heading back sooner rather than later.

Marc B.

Yelp
Food was great, location perfect but the service was extremely disappointing for a Sunday night. Sorry would have given more stars but good service is important.
