We heard about this place from a colleague and decided to make the drive from Tauranga for lunch. It was quite busy when we arrived, but we were lucky enough to snag the last car park and a table inside.
While the prices were on the higher side, they’re fairly typical these days, so we were expecting a quality meal. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The eggs on toast came with just two very small slices of toast and two eggs, with no butter or condiments provided—only a small dish of relish, which didn’t appeal to my wife.
My burger was much smaller than expected and was dry and lacking flavour. At that price point, we would have expected at least a side salad or chips. The only thing that improved it was borrowing the relish from my wife’s plate.
We had a look through the gallery afterwards, but that didn’t particularly impress us either. Overall, the underwhelming lunch left a sour taste, and unfortunately we wouldn’t recommend this place.
