L'Artusi

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in New York City. I’m honestly not a big fan of Italian food outside of Italy but this one left a mark. The place gets very crowded so book in advance and be ready to sit pretty close to other tables with quite a bit of noise. The food is very good. We got the rigatoni the perciatelli and the branzino. All of them tasted very good and the portions were also appropriate. It’s hard to find pasta dishes in New York under $30 that make you full these days. For dessert we got the olive oil cake which I personally think is overhyped. It tasted good but a bit dry and just not special enough to have everybody ordering it according to the pics. Overall main dishes were excellent and felt like good value for money. I’d love to come back.

Had L’Artusi on my list to try — it’s a must! Grabbed a reservation for 2 @ the bar on a Friday at 12:15 for 12:45pm. The garganelli pasta was incredible - I was hesitant about the mushroom ragu but it was so delicious and perfectly done. The olive oil cake was my favorite thing we ate — unbelievable flavor. A spoonful of cake w / the raisin marmelleta and mousse was absolute perfection. Highly recommend L’Artusi. Spent $150 including tip for 2 people - no alcohol.

Overall, one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining in a very long time. The mushroom, egg and cheese dish was fantastic. The beef wagyu carpaccio is was amazing. The pastas were so fresh and so balanced in flavor. And, I’m not a big dessert person, but the desserts were phenomenal and truly just as impressive as the meal itself. Nothing felt overwhelming or “too much” and everything was delicious. I’m surprised this restaurant isn’t rated more highly or even acclaimed with glowing stars.

Absolutely amazing experience at L’Artusi! The Cacio e Pepe was excellent—perfectly creamy with just the right amount of pepper. The Garganelli was equally delicious, rich, and great if you like a more tomato-based rich flavor. Olive oil cake was unique, but not as good as expected. Beautiful ambiance, great service, and truly outstanding food. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience. The roasted mushrooms were not what we were expecting, in a GOOD Way. They were fantastic. The Pici 'Cacio e Pepe' was good as well, I just didn't eat my much because I wanted more pork chop, read below. We got the pork chop as our main course. It has to be one of the best pork chops I've ever had. I would order it again in a heartbeat!

My friends and I went for brunch and it was delicious!! Our favorites were the carbonara and the spaghetti! The biscuits and gravy were also a hit, they have the cacio e pepe gravy! Olive oil cake was just okay in my opinion, but worth a try if you’ve never experienced it.

We had a reservation at 7pm and were not seated until 7:20pm. At 7:15 I asked the hostess when she thinks we would be seated as we had somewhere to get to after our dinner and she seemed annoyed I asked, saying “the table just paid so we still need some time”. When we were seated, no apologies were given from the hostess or the waiter for the long wait. Aside from this, the food was tasty and came out super fast. I recommend the bucatini and olive oil cake! The Brussel sprouts were also very good and had a strong lemon flavor.

Roasted mushroom and the focaccia were good start to the meal, the pasta dishes were good but didn’t standout. The dessert and the drinks surprised me the most in a good way . I came here based on recommendation but the place doesn’t keep up with the hype. The place is loud so if you want a quiet dinner maybe go somewhere else. The service was the not the best, our servers seemed like she didn’t wanted to be there, I understand holiday rush but just felt it could have been better. Worth a one time visit, Not a stand-out meal.
