We spent three nights in the apartment and everything was amazing. Avellanas is an incredible beach, with white sand and very quiet. Around the apartments grow a lot of trees upon which we could see monkeys and other animals from up close.||||Inside, the apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen, a nicely sized bathroom, a bedroom with AC, WiFi and a private wooden deck furnished with hammocks. All was very neat and tidy. The property also offers plenty of parking spots. The owner, Isabel, recommended we visit Playa Negra (a sight you cannot miss if you are in the area) and several restaurants. We will definitely stay again at Las Avellanas Villas during our next visit to what has become our new favorite beach in Costa Rica.||||An inclusive establishment for families of any kind!

We had a wonderful time at the villas! We stayed in Tamarindo for a couple days and than headed to Playa Avellanas. It was a nice drive and we really enjoyed site seeing around the area. We rented a side by side ATV and had alot of fun! It only took around 20 minutes to get to the villas and it wasn't a bad ride at all! The villas were very beautiful and clean! We had a fully equipped bungalow with a cute little kitchen and a breakfast bar, a cozy little living area, nice size bathroom, and a huge bedroom with ac!! Which felt amazing! We really enjoyed waking up to the sound of birds and monkey's and having coffee on the patio in the hammock's.. We had an iguana on top of our villa that would come down and sun every morning ,which loved fruits and veggies! || Isabella was a great host, she was very pleasant and helpful! She had a great vibe and made us feel very welcomed. Thank you for having us! Playa Avellanas has amazing beaches with white sand and very relaxing!! We really enjoyed Lola's on the beach with great mojitos and pizza! The sunsets were amazing too! I would also recommend the snow cones from the little stand out on the beach! YUM!! Blu was another place with great food! You've gotta try the raw oysters and cream brulee. Great atmosphere and staff! Thanks all for the great hospitality!! After all we had a great time at the villas and plan to return! Thank you Isabella! The chocolates were amazing!! Pura Vida

The owner Isabella was extremely kind, attentive, friendly and helpful. I will be going back again and again because of her good, sweet spirit. She made our stay comfortable, she gave us coffee, oil and helped with Covid testing, reservations, and recommended the best places to eat! The villa was perfect for me and my mom. We enjoyed the rustic view, listening to the insects and animals, I personally loved to outside shower! The price is well worth it and more! Just some side notes (and nothing to do with the service) rent a SUV and make sure you get Waze for directions.

We spent a lovely week in early January, weather was perfect. My son found this place on booksurfcamp.com, it was perfect for us since it included the villa, daily surf lessons and board rental. The beach is just a few minutes by car or 15 minute walk. Our son was able to take a daily surf lesson and then surf for a few hours. The Avellanas surf school is on the beach and Mauricio and his team are great instructors. My husband and I enjoyed long walks on the beach and short day trips (Playa Negra, a hike at the National Park in Santa Cruz and Tamarindo). The Villa has a great design and a cute little kitchen that allowed us to make breakfast and a few dinners that we enjoyed on the front patio. Efie was a great host and very helpful in getting settled in and throughout our stay. Since the villa is quite secluded, I recommend a car to get around and get food, drinks and water. We drove 25 mins to Tamarindo for our shopping, you will find an outdoor market with a nice selection of fruit and vegetables and a grocery store called MegaSuper.

We've been there two times and will come back for sure. Fully equiped cabinas with Kitchen, decent size fridge, AC in the bedroom, wifi, and a safe for your valuables. Wake up to the sounds of birds of all kinds and monkeys, have your coffee in hamacs on the front patio and then head out to the magnificent playa avellanas. There's a gate protecting the property so it feels very safe. Surfer friendly, Robert knows every spot around and will help you find the best surf. Isabel the owner takes care of this place very well and makes sure that everything works properly. She speaks Spanish, english and french. You are in the Guanacaste country side but only a 20 minutes drive to Tamarindo's lime light, restaurants and shopping options, the best of both world. For a few days or longer stay I recommend this place and If you ever need a car for your stay, ask Isabel, her brother rents some at a decent price. PuraVida!!

This place falls way below expectations set by the posted photos, posted description, and the review in Lonely Planet. Overall the place in appearance was far below the beautiful photos and the detailed reservation information. The property is a reclaimed farm field with landscaping is far from attractive or quaint. The placement of the Villas does not add the the situation as they are all next to each other and in a row. It would have helped to spread them out and have trees between them. Inside the villas was another shock. The main bed we saw had several large brown stains on the white comforter (and no they were not sand stains). Then the couch or sitting place was nothing more than a wooden box with fabric on top. Very uncomfortable and not a place to sit for any amount of time. Overall the interiors looked much more worn and unattractive than the photos. We were also looking forward to a nice tree-lined walk to the beach. Unfortunately the dry season (not mentioned during reservation) meant that we had the pleasure of walking along a dusty road. Overall it was way below the expectations set by your website and Lonely Planet.

Do note this is not a beachfront property but there are great restaurants nearby, very easy access to beach w short drive, clean rooms w a contemporary atmosphere and an excellent host Robert to help you sort out details. We were surprised how much we got for the price during our "offseason" adventure. The beach on this stretch of the coast is delightfully private and these are the perfect little evening getaway villas especially if you just want to cool off (in AC) and enjoy a good internet connection. Meaningful little kitchenette can help you save costs...this is little gem in playa avellanas region. Be sure to check it out!!

They treated us badly without good manners or willing to help, it says walking distance to the beach but it's very far, they wanted to charge us for everything - not nice people don't stay there. The photos of Facebook are completely fake, it doesn't look like the photos at all. There is a nicer place and with a trail to the beach very near called Cabinas Las olas go there instead
