Las Caraibas

I found it asking Gemini a good local place not touristic and this was the first of the list with a wonderful view of the ocean. Very nice place, kind and very fast service (nice and friendly waiters), good food and ambiance! I ordered a Pao do caco (garlic no limits!), vegetarian hamburger with fried sweet potatoes and a fantastic maracuyá cake. Closing with a good bica ❤️ I suggest to anybody not to miss the experience. Totally 30€ well spent

Wow👌 Very unassuming open-air (under shelter) restaurant with water front location on a quiet road to nowhere. But go seek this place out, you will NOT be disappointed! The staff are keen to please without being overbearing, just right 👍 And their seafood was absolutely superb. Was a quiet evening when we visited. Just one improvement suggestion: please bring extra serving spoons to table for all those lovely veggies and salad 😃

We drove all the way here from Porto Moniz after this place was recommended online and it was definitely worth it. We had dinner at 8pm in January, so it was really cold. We didn’t know they only had outdoors seating, but they gave us blankets and we got mint tea and we were pretty comfortable. The restaurant consisted of a bar with seating in front of it under a tent. It was lovely eating with the sound of waves, although it was too dark to see anything. A lunch here would definitely be incredible. We got both the octopus and the Tuna Pica Pau and both were so good! The price is quite steep (€30 for both), but honestly, either of them plus a side salad or other dish would have been plenty for two. The potatoes in the octopus were so crispy, the sauce was delicious, and the octopus was soft. The sauce on the tuna was so good too - it reminded me of a Korean dipping sauce. The only critique would be that they were both a bit on the salty side, and I would have preferred slightly smaller portions for €25 instead of €30.

One of the best places to eat at Madeira - the view and location directly at the oceanside is unbeatable. Friendly service and fast serving of all dishes. Was there two times, both were great. The Tuna Picada is a recommendation, you will taste Madeira / Marocco Fusion, as the chef is from Marocco. French fries are extraordinary crispy and seasoned well. So often you just get the boring standard fries - but not here :) On my 2nd visit i tried also the brownie and hot chocolate, both very delicious options for dessert. A must visit when you are at Madeira.

We 100% recommend Las Caraibas! It’s the best place we discovered in Madeira. Delicious food, an amazing view, and a very friendly staff — the atmosphere is simply perfect. We ordered garlic bread, mussels in a wine-butter sauce, and octopus — the portion was huge and incredibly tasty. If you’re nearby, you should definitely come here for lunch or dinner. This place is absolutely worth it!

A Must-Visit on Madeira: Amazing Food and Cocktails! 🍹🍽️ Las Caraibas is a true gem! The staff here are exceptionally kind, warm, and welcoming. Their genuine hospitality really stood out and made us feel right at home. We were so impressed by the quality of the food, the friendliness, and the unique cocktails that we made the trip twice during our stay in Madeira! This is especially telling, considering the restaurant was about an hour's drive from our accommodation. It was absolutely worth the journey both times. Highly recommend stopping by for a great meal and a fabulous drink!

We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and had a great experience. The staff was attentive, quick, and kind. One waiter even talked to my husband about his camera for a while at the end. The view is perfect—ocean in the front and mountains in the back. And the outdoor seating can be automatically covered if there's rain. There was plenty of street parking all down the stretch of road the restaurant is on. We ordered two oat milk cappuccinos right away for a little caffeine boost, then got the octopus, falafel salad, and fries. I finished mine off with an espresso. Wouldn't change a thing!

The food and drinks are really really good and the people there are awesome and so kind. Loved every minute of it. The beautiful view is the cherry on top :)
