Yelp
What a great restorant / guest house The food authentic and really really good As for the guest house perfect location

Yelp
If your a seafood lover then you'll need to stop here. There is every type of fish on the menu that will satisfy your craving. From mahi mahi to lobster and the prices are competitive. The grilled octopus runs $22 dollars. I personally think that's a great price for the amount you get. If you want to try the octopus salad that will only run you $9 dollars. This is a place where they know how to cook seafood. It's their specialty. You won't be disappointed here. Excellent service as well as a list of drinks they are happy to recommend to you.

Yelp
This was our favorite restaurant in the Fajardo area and we ended up visiting 3X! Everything was so delicious. The stuffed tostones cups were outstanding - we ordered shrimp and chicken. The rice and bean dishes were very well seasoned (arroz momposteado - original or with steak). The skirt steak and shrimp dish was perfect. Drinks were also made very well - frozen and well-blended. The outdoor patio is very comfortable and charming with the perfect level of lighting to give a great ambiance with also being able to read a menu. Service was perfect. I wish there was a restaurant like this near where I live!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
The food and staff here were amazing! They were kind and helpful we had eaten so much by the time we stopped here all the menu items looked the same. She shared her favorites from the restaurant and they did not disappoint!! I absolutely loved the experience here !

Yelp
Went and waited for 20 minutes, couldn't even get the host to talk to us. Asked the person in front of us, said the host spoke to them 30 minutes before and then not again. There were empty tables. We just left to another restaurant up the road that had good food.

Nadeane H.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. Very fresh. We had fried cheese and octopus salad as apps. Both were perfect. The cheese is cut into large rectangles and fried. No breading. It tastes like homemade cheese. Served with a sweet sauce. Plenty for the table to share. The octopus salad was very fresh. Mixed greens with tomatoes and a light vinaigrette all served on a flat, flaky, buttery biscuit which soaks up the dressing. Lots of octopus pieces. For a cocktail I had the most amazing coconut mojito. It was served in a large jar-type glass. Not a puny little glass like other places serve. It was creamy and bright. Best mojito ever! For dinner I had the grouper with creole sauce. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The creole sauce added the perfect flavor, not strong at all. And for a side I had the red beans and rice which were delicious. I would go back here in a heartbeat. All seating is outside on a covered patio with ceiling fans. Service was amazing. Super friendly and patient.

Yelp
The food is absolutely incredible! Everything was so flavorful. The piña coladas are delicious! Our server was Zoe and she was so sweet and kind to us! Ask for her!! The area is nice and peaceful (great place for a date night or with the family). This is a must go to restaurant for sure!! We had the stuffed tostones with chicken, chicken mofongo, and kan kan chuleta with Puerto Rican rice. The wings were fresh and crispy. The portions were a perfect size.

Winnie C.

Yelp
5 star for their Pina colada - full of tropical flavors and very creamy. As a matter of fact, all of their cocktails look pretty and delicious. Blue margarita was very sweet if that's your thing. For food, we ordered the stuffed red snapper that came with shrimps, octopus and another type of seafood (forgot the name). In my opinion, the dish was too saucy which overpowered the flavors of the seafood. It also came with mofongo which made the dish a pretty big portion that's big enough for two people. Service was kinda slow but our waiter was very friendly.

Yelp
kalizo Kiosko: a haiku review Dinner spot before BioBay Pistachio flan highlight The rest was solid We went here before going on the bioluminescent bay tour. The dinner was good with friendly service. A solid option for dinner before your tour. But save room for the pistachio flan! My wife described it as one of the best flan's she ever had - and it was definitely the highlight of the meal.

Tom C.

Yelp
The food here is very good and the service has been great. We love the Kalizo sauce on any of our entrees.

Gorlan Y.

Yelp
Food, service, and atmosphere were great here. Erika was our server and she was super attentive to all of our requests, from getting our orders on time, water, drinks, and even offered to take a picture for us when she saw us doing so. Portions for entrees here are quite large. Piña coladas for $7 is a steal!

Robert R.

Yelp
The food is ready fresh and delicious. Nice outdoor dining experience with authentic traditional Puerto Rican cuisine

Gene L.

Yelp
Very good food. Tasted amazing, good presentation and amazing service. Kinda pricey but worth it!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We came here on our last night of vacation & it was very good. Everyone's food was very good! Service was excellent! I highly recommend the arepas and tostones. My friends got the mofongo and we're very happy. I will definitely come back here if I come back to Puerto Rico!

Wendilyn I.

Yelp
This place is a great place to grab lunch or dinner after visiting any of the beautiful beaches nearby (Playa Siete Mares & Playa Escondida are within walking distance). The arepas de pulpo are very filling. The filled tostones of churrasco are also a must get. As an entree, I got the mofongo with chicken. The mofongo was a little dry but paired with the Kalizo sauce (parmesan base) it was perfectly delicious. The drinks here are very tasty and the service its friendly. A perfect place for a breezy day as all the seating is outside.

Nawel 1.

Yelp
This is by far the best food in PR. I am looking forward to going back before my trip ends.

S W.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal at Kalizo! The service was fantastic. We were in a rush to get to our bio bay kayak tour and they served us quickly. We both ordered snapper filet with Puerto Rican rice and beans. The fish was incredibly fresh - we recommend the garlic sauce and the tropical sauce. The most delicious rice and beans. Cool outdoor dining setting. We highly recommend and plan to return.

Ana C.

Yelp
We ate here on our first day in Fajardo. The food was great. The server was very good and friendly. He helped us decide what to order. I definitely recommend.

Khoi N.

Yelp
This was a great lil restaurant with outdoor seating located on the East side. My friends and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered everything from the mahi mahi mofongo , fried pork meal, beef empanadas, sirloin steak mofongo, and the mixed seafood creole platter. Wow flavors here are on point! Food is cooked fresh. We really loved the empanadas. Very large in size and packed with plenty of meat. The seafood creole and mahi were my favorite. A very creamy rich sauce with tender fish. The pork and steak dishes were great as well. The pork was fried perfectly and wasn't dry at all. Price wise food here is pretty expensive. Around $20 per lunch entree. Great place to stop by for lunch and the outdoor seating with awning provided a memorable experience. The staff was really friendly the seafood here is so fresh.

Jasper C.

Yelp
Always a favorite. Great atmosphere. Local. Family friendly. Server helped us order an assortment to try lots of things. Everything delicious. Great pina coladas.

Nicole K.

Yelp
We read the great reviews and were excited to try it. The drinks were great! Agree with the prior reviews on that, especially the pina colada. We ordered salmon, which was possibly the worst we' e ever gotten at a restaurant. The mofungo was fine but not as good as we've had at other places. The vegetable side was terrible--clearly frozen vegetables from a bag. The highlight, sadly, was the kids chicken fingers and fries. Those were some of the best and our kids devoured them.

Anna F.

Yelp
Incredible food. We came here before a bioluminescence kayak tour and so glad we found it. I ordered the mahi mahi with garlic sauce and arepas and of course with a medalla. You first order in a line up at the bar and then can sit at one of the picnic benches to wait for your order. Food was authentic, great service, great price

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Amazing lil stop by the road. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and the tostones rellenos. The quesadillas were unlike any other and had a delicious sauce. The tostones were so good that we considered buying a third extra plate of them. Plenty of parking and had good music playing. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. We had the flan de cafe which was the cherry on top of this meal.

Monica V.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner in Fajardo around 730, places here closed pretty early for a Wednesday. We got the tostones de camarón, we had them in San Juan a few days prior and these totally blew those out of the water! Tostones fried well and soft on the inside. The shrimp was tender and cooked perfectly, the criolla sauce was flavorful rather than super tomato saucey like the ones we had in San Juan. My boyfriend got the salmon Al ajillo and it was decent, not the best we've tried but their mampostedo rice was amazing! So flavorful and tender! I got the arepa mixta, it had a vinaigrette I wasn't expecting but the acidity balanced the sweetness of the arepa perfectly and would definitely get again! We also tried their piña colada and it was perfectly refreshing and not too sweet, would definitely eat here again.

Kayce V.

Yelp
Food was great and fast service. The coconut mojitos were amazing. The red snapper filet was really good!

Richard B.

Yelp
Since or first visit about a month ago, we have returned 4 times. The Arepa mixta (Arepa stuffed with Shrimp and Octopus) along with a really cold beer is great and just two for me and one for my wife makes up a meal. We've also had the red snapper and other dishes and all were wonderful. The Staff is very friendly and always present if needed.

Stephen O.

Yelp
Great food made with love. They recently upgraded to waitress service which allows you to relax. The full bar and delicious food won't disappoint.

Roberto Y.

Yelp
I was pleasantly impressed! This was one of my best meals during our stay in Puerto Rico. I was not expecting the quality of food i got from a Kiosko off the road. But never judge a book by its cover. Everyone at Calizo was very friendly and the food was fantastic. Gods variety and combination of dishes. We had the Mahi-Mahi with a shrimp and octopus sauce, Mofongo filled with fish and a shrimp sauce, kids had grilled chicken with onions and pasta. Even those dishes were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. Hopefully I will come back soon.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Fresh cooked everything ! They're open noon to 9pm most days, but it does take a little while to get your food after ordering because everything is cooked per order. We got a medium red snapper platter and it was enough for two. We got there around 7pm, just before the dinner crowd and we're lucky we ordered when we did because they got slammed pretty quickly. They have a collection of tables, menu in English and Spanish beside the registers for your non native speakers which was awesome and the staff was very nice. Would definitely recommend the red snapper, we also got an seafood arepa that was delicious, in a lime sauce that we ate too quickly to photograph.

Yelp
Terrific meal at this little roadside restaurant in Fajardo. Churrasco, camarones, arroz mamposteao...everything was delicious. The piña colada was recommended in another review and lived up to the hype. Will make it a point to come back next time I'm visiting.

Melissa B.

Yelp
After eating at several other restaurants during the rest of our trip, this food was by far my favorite during our time in Puerto Rico.

Bryan W.

Yelp
Local, family owned place with great menu, great prices and good cocktails. Charlie and Charlie father/son team) are friendly, outgoing and helpful. Great little roadside stop - always a must for me when in PR.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Good and service are great! I have to say I do miss the previous version of the restaurant, which was more laid back and had counter service only. But the food is still just as amazing. I had the shrimp with kalizo sauce with the Puerto Rican beans and rice. My daughter had the shrimp and chimichurri sauce and it was great as well.

Ricky G.

Yelp
I'm grateful I had a chance to say I came to Fajardo and ate at Calizo Kiosko. This isn't normal food. You can't find these flavors in a typical restaurant. This is soul food. Place your order at the window and take a seat. My toddler got the pasta and chicken. He didn't need us to tell him "take another bite" as the child loved it. My wife got shrimp/mofongo and I ordered the mahi in creole sauce served with arepas. I wish I could've taken a picture but once I started eating I didn't stop. This place is an absolute must if you ever want to level up your food game.

Yelp
Visited Kalizo Kiosko (aka Calizo) for dinner last night. The food was fantastic--two fish dishes and the fried pork were both perfect. Service was even better--warm and thoughtful. Our best dinner in PR so far. We will be back.

Gavin S.

Yelp
The Mofongo here is AMAZING! I had the Mahi Mahi Mofongo with the Kaliso sauce and it might just be the best Mofongo I've ever had! Definitely a must stop from now on if I'm ever in the area! Also, it looks like they are building dole villas next door that look really nice! Maybe we'll stay there next time! Staff was very friendly and helpful as well! Would definitely recommend!

Elena P.

Yelp
While the servers were pleasant, the food was not. The fish was very dry, and the pork was overcooked. We paid more than 100 dollars for basically fast food. I would not recommend going here at all.

Anand C.

Yelp
Terrible food, lots of canned premade stuff used, tried the snapper filet which was cooked terribly, watery canned beans with stale rice. Nice location and good wait staff wasted with horrible kitchen

Amy M.

Yelp
When we got to Calizo, it was after dark. The parking lot was full but I was able to snag a spot in the unfinished building next door. Our party of 6 wanted to sit inside but hey had no room. We got a table on the patio instead. The patio had very little light...infact it was so dark we had could not read the menu. We asked the waiter if they had candles or something like that so but he just said no. We had to use the flashlight on our phones to read the menu. Then menu contain mostly of seafood which was perfect for us. Each dish was between 20.00 and 30.00 except the lobster which was closer to 45.00. We ended ordering 4 main courses: Grilled grouper, conch salad, fried red snapper and the skirt steak. The dished were HUGE!!! Think each plate could feed 2 people. The conch was nice and tender and wonderfully seasoned. It was sever with some diced root vegetables. The grouper was fresh and delicious and was served over a mash. The skirt steak was as long as my forearm! The snapper was nice an meaty. Everything was delicious and even with 4 dished for 6 people, we struggled to finish everything. The only downside to this restaurant is the lack of lighting. My sister had the fish and she had to keep her phone flashlight on to avoid choking on a bone. Think we would of given this 5 stars if we were inside where they had ample lighting.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Delicious road side eatery. Food was excellent, fresh seafood and supremely nice staff.

Angela Q.

Yelp
Great food! We came here two day in a row. They specialize in protein (especially seafood) in various kind of sauce - you can choose protein, sauce, and side. Not the fastest but worth the wait!

Erica R.

Yelp
Of the many places we visited in Fajardo, this was our least favorite. We had high expectations for this place because of the beautiful patio and the great Yelp reviews but our hopes were quickly dashed. For starters, we both wanted to use the restroom so we could wash our hands but we didn't know that the restroom required a key and we kept going and knocking and waiting, assuming someone was in there the whole time. Mosquitoes are just as fierce here as they were at the places on the water so be sure to spray yourself with bug spray! Okay, as for drinks - I tried the sangria and it was good. Our server was a little slow which is common in Puerto Rico but our food really was not that great. First of all, there were flies everywhere which is annoying when you're trying to eat but again to be expected when dining outside but I ordered a filet and it was FILLED with fish bones. Every bite resulted in me having fish in teeth and that was disappointing but the real reason this is a 3 star review is my SO's meal. He ordered the steak and it looked lovely but they didn't bring him a steak knife til he was almost done. To make matters worse, about 5 minutes after they brought the steak knife, they brought out the sauce that was supposed to accompany the steak. At that point, he was almost done. Our server wasn't even apologetic about it. To sum it up, we were super disappointed and will not be returning on our next trip to PR.

Lk D.

Yelp
Everything was delicious, great service from Charlie. Tried the red snapper filled with seafood, fried calamari, shrimp stuffed mofongo, and gnocchi. Everyone loved their food. We tried the parcha sangria which was delicious as well.

Shantel T.

Yelp
Wonderful wonderful mofongo. We got the one with seafood. We also ordered the red snapper which was a big hit! Very juicy and sweet. The mofongo was better here than most places we tried in San Juan. So if you're in the Fajardo area, stop by! The only downside was service was really slow. But you'll survive. Salud!

Rex J.

Yelp
Food was prepared well, presumably fresh. I thought the sauce was incredible as well. There's a garlic/butter sauce, a cheese sauce, and a creole. The first two were definitely fantastic on mahi mahi and grouper respectively. Maybe slightly over priced at almost $20 per meal which brought me up to a whopping $40 haha, but no complaints on quality and taste.

Meg M.

Yelp
Stopped here after a snorkel island hopping day and it was AMAZING! Staff was super sweet and food to die for.

Alison R.

Yelp
Stopped here before a snorkeling tour. Got the mahi-mahi with mofongo, and my husband got the mofongo with roasted pork. Both were delicious! Portions were large--we should have split an order since we didn't have a cooler with us for leftovers!

Andre B.

Yelp
My family and I came to this restaurant at around 8pm. It was really dark on the street where the restaurant is located, but when you arrive to the restaurant, there's some light! At first, we were kind of skeptical, but after all the reviews, we decided to try it. Im glad we decided eat at this restaurant! Great service and excellent food! I would definitely recommend the skirt steak and the coconut flan! Thanks everyone that helped make our trip memorable!

Merrie D.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much, but it was amazing. You order at the counter and and sit at picnic tables. Has a wide variety of seafood and mofongo. We had the red snapper with crab, shrimp and veggies. Delicious. Others had the Mahi Mahi, with the parmesan sauce and mofongo with octopus and chicken. The gentleman at the counter was extremely helpful and took the time to explain the menu and make suggestions. We enjoyed it tremendously. The Dumplings were amazing!!!!!!

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Wherever you are staying in Puerto Rico, especially if you find yourself in the area of Ceiba or Fajardo, do yourself a favor and make a point of eating at Calizo at least once. The food is expertly prepared and delicious. The service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious. These before and after pictures of the red snapper (chillo) are all you need to know. Eat at Calizo and be happy!
