Aaron was our waiter, and he has been so patient and courteous to us. My family and I are always eating here for special occasions, and today is my Mom's birthday!
We ordered a meat platter for appetizers— there were no photos because we forgot to take pictures. The cured meats alongside the grapes and cheese was simply divine. Add that to the bread that had garlic tomato spread on top, the hangings added a certain richness to it.
Next, we had a Caesar Salad. No other comments aside other than that the salad dressing complimented the lettuce's texture very well. The crostinis gave it a little more crunch. Add a little more cheese, and the flavor is overwhelmingly delicious.
The gambas here never fails. Be careful though! For it is served when the oil is still popping in the cast iron serving pan. The flavor of the gambas is difficult to describe, but once you have a taste of it, you'll always come back for seconds. It is a bit oily though, so I do not recommend those with sensitive stomachs to eat it.
The paella setas has a certain rich-UMAMI flavor to it. This paella is often overlooked as most prefer paella negra or valenciana, but believe me when I say paella setas is the best. It is a mushroom rice dish that compliments meat very well, especially the gambas, based on my experience. Even without meat, it is very delicious, so when you come here, come eat paella setas if you haven't yet.
We order Aglio Olio pasta, for long life, as we should. What's a birthday without a delicious pasta dish? Again, for those with sensitive stomachs, I don't suggest this dish, but those who don't have sensitive stomachs, please try this dish. At first I was surprised by the spice of this meatless pasta, for you can feel it hit at your throat, but it's so flavorful and satisfying to eat, and the pasta was also perfectly al dente, I couldn't get enough!
Last, for our dessert, we just ordered a dessert platter and just indulged with our cravings. The ice cream, the pudding, the cheese cake, churros, and blueberry brownies gave my family a sugar rush in the best way possible!
