Review — Las Nubes (Holbox) Located at the far east end of the island, we came here mainly to enjoy the beach — and it was absolutely worth it. The beach access package costs 1200 pesos for two chairs, which includes 1000 pesos in credit for food and drinks. In the end, it’s roughly $7 CAD per person for the chairs and about $70 CAD in credit per person, which is a great deal. Drinks are affordable, and we ordered picanha (steak) with fries. The steak was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend the fries, as they weren’t very good. There are probably better options on the menu, but we decided not to order more food. We actually came here twice, because the beach is incredible. When we return to Holbox, we will definitely stay here. The location is far from downtown, so I recommend taking a golf cart taxi or renting bikes to get around. The service from the staff was excellent, and from this location it’s easy to walk to Punta Mosquito — about 3 km along the beach. I have rarely seen something this beautiful. Some people even said it feels similar to the Maldives. I highly recommend this place for the beach and the endless sandbanks you can walk on for kilometers.

Lovely hotel in a quiet, natural and calming location. Perfect for access to the ocean and walking along the sandbank to punta mosquito. Good facilities overall, beach club very nice and the food was good at the club too (didn’t eat in the restaurant). Good room, spacious, clean and comfortable with an unexpected view of the ocean too. The walk to town is about 30 minutes and became a bit tiresome but you can hail a taxi or hire bikes. Felt that the service generally could have been a little friendlier and more professional but on the whole it was fine. Holbox island is a perfect place to relax plus lots of bars/restaurants to pick from. We loved seeing the raccoons and iguanas and they were never a nuisance at the hotel. Overall highly recommend.

If you are looking for the perfect beach day on Isla Holbox, look no further. This place is an absolute gem! One of the biggest wins here? The water was crystal clear and completely free of seaweed, which can be hard to find. It made the whole view look like a postcard. The food and drinks were easily the highlight of our trip: • The Ceviche: Incredibly fresh, zesty, and the perfect light lunch for a hot day. • The Cocktails: Expertly mixed and super refreshing. You can tell they use quality ingredients. • Steak Tacos: Do not skip these! They were perfectly seasoned and definitely a standout on the menu. The atmosphere is laid-back, the service is friendly, and the vibes are unmatched. Highly recommended if you want a premium beach experience without the seaweed hassle!

Great hotel, great staff, from restaurant, gardeners, maids, beach club, hosts…, who all made our stay quite enjoyable. Located just in front of the kitesurfing spot. Restaurant is great, the octopus on lunch menu is a must! Garden view room we rented is nice, pictures on website are representative. Don’t expect something modern, but it is very decent. Bed is comfortable, nice balcony. 20 minutes walk to nearest store or beginning of downtown area. 7-10 minutes taxi from downtown.

We loved the location, it’s right on the beach and the last hotel to the east of Holbox. Some may find it too far out of town, but we liked walking (20 minutes down the beach to town). And there are always plenty of taxis at a good price 150 mx.||Breakfast was nice, the views were stunning. ||Highly recommend a massage with Noa, both my wife and I enjoyed it.||The staff had really helped us out after we had arrived late in the evening at their sister hotel in town, Casa Barbara, to find the rooms to be really tired and dirty. When we complained we were transferred here.||The rooms are spacious, clean but a little dated.||We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice bungalows, great sunbeds in front of them, great view. We rented bikes, which I would recommend, but the chain kept falling off one of the bikes. Breakfast wasn’t good - one toast and dry scrambled eggs, the juice was supposedly 100% but tasted cheap. Extra paid coffee was bad too. I recommend it anyway because of the room, the view, the beds by the sea, and the helpful staff. Just get the food and bikes somewhere else.

Nice beach club at a super clean, mostly algae -free beach spot! Good end or start of punta mosquitos hike. I can really recommend. Especially Carlos from the beach bar was super friendly and warm :)

I booked a 9-night stay at Las Nubes directly (229177) in November ’24. I paid a small holding deposit, with the balance due on arrival. In August ’25 I suffered a medical emergency that required a hospital stay, and my recovery took longer than expected. During a neurological appointment shortly before departure I was advised not to undertake long-haul flights until my condition had stabilised. I contacted the hotel, explaining the situation in more detail than outlined here. The following day, Las Nubes charged my card for the full amount of the booked suite. I received no response from the hotel itself. Since then, I have emailed the hotel multiple times using their various email addresses, simply requesting an invoice for the amount charged so I can make a claim on my travel insurance. None of these emails have been answered. Having to cancel a holiday due to ill health is upsetting enough. That experience is made significantly worse when a hotel that has already taken full payment will not complete a simple administrative task to allow a guest to reclaim some of their money. I would have been willing to move or rebook my stay if possible, but given the complete lack of communication, I would not consider doing so now.

if I could leave 0 stars I would. I went during the month of June 2023. I purchased a day pass only for my phone to be stolen by staff. a local stated they seen a staff member named either Felipe or Demetrio take my phone. not only that, but that the staff also search in golf cart rentals and take other belongings. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. the staff is to not be trusted.

Day pass purchased for beach club. Service was fantastic! Ceviche is killer and the drinks are great. This is the best beach on island.

Came during a bad time due to sargassum, the rating is not due to this but due to how the hotel accommodates for this. They do not clean the beach, instead they late the smell get so bad you can't even go outside. Not only that they don't try to please you in any way. No voucher for future visit if you want to cancel a day no promotion of any kind nothing at all. Very disappointing. The beach was unusable. I understand it's out of the control of the hotel but it's also out of the customer's control.

EVITA ESTE HOTEL. Estafado y no seguro. El HOTEL NUBES es un problema. El club beech del hotel es ruidoso y hay poca privacidad. El nivel de ruido de las habitaciones es ridícula que les parezca. ¡El gerente evitó enfrentar el robo de nuestra bolsa en el club de playa y luego quiso cobrar por la bolsa! The hotel beech club is loud and there is little privacy. The noise level by the bedrooms is ridiculous. The manager avoided confronting the theft of our bag at the beach club and then wanted to charge for the bag! I would never ever recommend this hotel. It is the worst service at the front desk. And then they refused to call a taxi and turned off the electric. The front desk staff is rude. The resteraunt is great -- but avoid this hotel accommodations when going to Hobox. So many better choices. Loud! And then there's the adult pool that has no sign for adults only and had kids playing it every day. If you are looking for a place to relax -- this is not the hotel to stay at. No manager on duty at night and no way to escalate a problem. Las Nubes is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places We've ever stayed at. Chill, friendly and stunning is the best way to describe it! The best place on the island! So close to the action but far enough to feel like you're in a dream. But our highlight was the staff. They go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible. In a casual kind of way. Which I adored! Food was the freshest I had on the island and our main man Edger was a star! Edger, thank you for being so lovely and brilliant! You are a natural, much like all of your colleagues. 5 STARS - (sometimes it sucks to write this because it's going to be hard to get another reservation) But I have to be honest! aMAZING!

We had rooms 22 and 24, best rooms there if you ask me. The food, the beach, the service were all amazing. We saw other hotels and this was by far the best on the island, even better than Sandro. Make sure you add in plenty of time for the golf cart taxis, as they take a long time getting to and from the resort.

Love it!!!!...stunningly long sand bar...walk forever...brilliant...Tarpon fishing is crazy good in this area...

Once you have checked in it is not possible to reduce the number of nights no matter how long your stay. Have not experienced this before and it make one wonder why... Located at the end of the island with its own beach which is great for letting kids loose. In general whole hotel area is great for kids. There is a kitesurf school next door. Rooms and decor in general is tired and average. Service, for Mexican standards, is slow to the extreme. Food is fine but again average. Half of the bikes available are in bad condition. One kids size bike. There is only wifi in the reception. I never managed to get it to work. Mobile signal for telcel and movistar does not reach beyond room 23. Our impression is that Tortugas offer a similar experience closer to the city and with much better food/service.

I went to Las Nubes only to have dinner and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, they had several Mexican appetizers that were very goos, their pescadillas are excellent, and so is the ceviche and the calamares al ajillo. The service was outstanding, the music was very good, and it is the only place in Holbox that has a screened outdoor terraza, that was great to find because there were lots of mosquitoes in all the island. The food was reasonably prices and so were the drinks, and they had lots of choices of cocktails with fresh fruits with or without alcohol. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.
