My wife & I spent a Saturday night at this resort. That's all of the time we had fit into our itineary. We really wanted to experience a Panama beach, on the Pacific side, before flying back to Panama City. This resort is only a 45 minute drive from David's airport. I found this to be a very interesting place to stay. It's a very nice resort, but not really crowded. However, all our fellow guests were friently and nice. The room wasn't super fancy, but it was fine. Yes, some of the landscaping is a little rough around the edges, but nothing intolerable; kind of like a state park. The actual resort areas and pool all were very nice and well kept. The staff, service and food also was very good. In fact I was very tired and stressed-out from several hours of driving, lastly thru David when we arrived early Saturday evening. The staff were very attentive to get me all I wanted from the bar as I unwound, and their prices were very fair. The Sunday breakfast buffett also was good. After checking out at noon on Sunday, we also stayed around on the veranda for lunch and some afternoon time, as we delayed our drive back to David to catch our late afternoon flight. The fish we ordered for lunch was great, as were the drinks. The beach is HUGE, but clean and scenic! I was amazed at how expansive and empty it was. The surf was pretty heavy; it remineded me of LA's surf at Venice Beach (I guess that's the Pacific for you). The resort is set back a bit from the shore, but they have a walk-way toward the open sand & ocean. Upon returning, they also have a open shower to rinse sand off your feet when you return from swimming. BE CAREFUL not to walk barefoot across the sand on a sunny day. It's black sand (gray, actually) so it gets REALLY HOT from the sun. Wear beach shoes or sandals, as I almost burned soles of my feet! I wondered why this place isn't totally crowded. It's kind of in an out of the way location, sort of on a road that ends at the beach. Also, the surf makes it a bit challening to just float around in the water. And there's also the hot sand. Perhaps these are reasons why it's not super crowded. But I will return and stay here again if I'm ever back this way in Panama. It's very fairly priced, a short drive to David's airport, and a nice place to relax, drink, dine & spend some beach-time on the Pacific.

Beautiful beaches. But my room has seen better days. Random people were constantly knocking on my door at night. The room numbers are not very visible. The gym was rundown. It has the feel of a very basic motel. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was good.

I highly recommend this beach resort. It's perfectly located near the city of David but surrounded by the peaceful and natural beauty of Playa La Barqueta. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, and the tranquility of the place allowed me to rest and recharge like never before. The oceanfront rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. If you're looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy nature, this is the perfect spot. I will definitely return!

If you are looking for a quiet, friendly place to relax on a clean beach watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets, eating excellent meals on an outdoor veranda, while listening to the surf and birds go to Las Olas.

It was kind of a strange experience. We were the only guests at this huge resort, kind of reminiscent of The Shining - lol! That being said, the staff were extremely friendly and eager to please. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and ac works well. Food was delicious. The second day we were fortunate to have another couple arrive, fellow Canadians and had lots of fun with them.||The only thing we found really annoying was that there No lounge chairs at the pool and no chairs at all at the beach. You were lucky to find an old log to sit on if you were doing a long walk.
