"Dining in a Glass Cube in Zurich West The Schiffbau, a renovated shipbuilding factory, is home to a popular theater, jazz club, bar and this glamorous restaurant, situated in a stunning glass cube. One of its signatures is a fillet of horse loaded with garlic, but for the less adventurous, the French- and Italian-leaning menu also includes classics like braised beef in red wine sauce."

The food here is very good. A limited menu but the produce used is excellent and so too is their culinary preparations. The Bouillabaisse is a must try. The service is good, and our waiter was very helpful with his recommendations. The restaurant is quite large so when it is not full, the atmosphere is a little flat.

Came here for dinner - it was pretty empty on a Thursday night. The menu was to be found scanning a QR code on your phone due to COVID-19 preventative measures. Distance between guests was also enforced. The staff is lovely and the food is above average. The portions are averaged size and pretty expensive, but good quality. The dessert was really good and enough to split. It was a nice experience for a small European based menu.

We have been to La Salle twice now and each time the food has been excellent and well presented. We especially like the seasonal daily menu. Service is attentive and pleasant. Conclusion, very good food in a unique old building. Very easy to get to with bus 33 stopping in front.

It was amazing! We went before the Taylor Swift concert (~2:30) and service was super quick and our waiter was super kind. We ordered a garden salad (super filling, get the smaller size) and the ravioli (get the big one solely because you will want more). The ravioli was totally the highlight as it was delicious.

Quality of food: The quality of food is good and the portions are of a good size. But, there isn't a lot of variety to the menu. Although the restaurant changes its menu each season, they reuse the same menu from the previous season. I believe it would be a great addition to your offer if you were to switch a few things here and there from time to time. Concerning the service, they were overall friendly, but we felt that they could be a bit more professional and polite to their customers. The establishment was clean, though. :)

Yelp
Higher end restaurant inside of the Schiffbau, which is used for the performing arts. Nicely surrounded by glass. Building is unique for sure. Food was decent, pricey, but good.

Yelp
I came here for a work dinner, so we were a large group. The staff was very friendly and they had menus for us in both German and in English. I think there was a special seasonal menu that was only in German though, so we had to get some of the German-speakers in our group to translate it. The restaurant is in an industrial building, but they made it very elegant inside. I saw a lot of suited types dining at other tables, so I suppose this is popular with the work folks for wining and dining. Perhaps this could also be an elegant date place, but I was just there with coworkers. The food was beautifully presented and tasted quite good, but the service was a bit slow. But that could have also been due to our large group.

Yelp
An interesting location for a restaurant that could get missed as it's in a huge industrial building called Schiffbau, located in the former industrial area (which is really hip now). This restaurant also has a separate bar area, and is best well known as the glass window restaurant in the same Schiffbau building as the Moods Jazz club located upstairs (which is pretty tall and stands out). I frequent the Moods Jazz club and I do admit I should organize more dinners here with the Jazz club. The service is good here and so is the food. And it's not typical Swiss food you get here, like the Schnitzel with gravy sauce and rostli, bratwurst and rostli and gravy, and you get what I mean. I would highly recommend the interesting, tasty and creative dishes such as the grilled scallops with avocado and mango salad - the description underplays the fact the avocado is served in a "tar tar" like shape and is scrumptious; the seasonal tiger prawns salad, and also their beef tar tar, a house specialty. The wine pairings are reasonable and good - all a good combination for a great time out in Zurich. Prices are average to a tad bit higher for Zurich standards.

Yelp
Beautiful location and space, with very good service, but the food was OK in regards to the price. The dish I had cost about CHF 40,- for a small piece of meat (and 2 sides). The meat wasn't worth the price, in my opinion. The sides were good. I might need to go again, but my friend had the same dish and we both weren't too happy with how dry and flavourless the meat was - the jus was good though.

Yelp
A well deserved 4 stars for LaSalle. It is not that they lost a star it is simply that it met all my expectations, but did not over deliver. The setting is unique and comfortable, the service attentive, the food fresh, original and delicious. The wine card has a comprehensive selection of wines from around the world. What I enjoyed was the architectural space and the space given to each guest. In a large space it's easy to overfill the place, but LaSalle respects its guests' personal space and right to privacy. The food is exquisite and they feature a standard or classic selection as well as daily specials. A great place for business lunches or group dinners.

Yelp
Love the architecture and have been to Lasalle a few times but not recently. The prices are high compared to the quality of the food. Had octopus papaya salad with chili but unfortunately the papaya was very mushy. Main course meatloaf with mashed potatoes which was just OK. I woke up at 4 am next morning feeling very nauseous JUST LIKE THE OTHER 3 at my table who had eaten the same!!! Bit suspicious! Will not be rushing to eat there again.

Yelp
I seriously wonder why this place has so many good ratings! We arrived on a Friday for a late dinner and where nicely and professionally welcomed which made a great impression but that was about it. All the experiences after were not worth the money. We had a Nüsslisalat as a starter topped with a very simple dressing and boring taste. At least the surrounding of the large storehouse atmosphere packed in chic glass and twenty-armed candelabrum in the hall kind of distracted the negative starter impact. We could have lived with a bad starter and strong main but we got disappointed by receiving a tartar that was not really touching our taste sensation and every toast slide had to be ordered separately and arrived ages later. The additional butter we ordered even came after we already flagged to pay the check. I had scallops with avocado guacamole and thinly sliced mango which is a great combination. But the scallops where not fresh and had a fishy smell. After waiting for another single toast slice we waited another 15minutes for our check and finally decided to get up and pay at the coat check. After another 5 minutes of waiting our waitress made it to bring the check. We felt so releaved to leave this La Salle and just thought maybe they had an overall bad Friday evening!!! We'll just remember this evening as a 'lame waiting Friday' in Zurich;)

Yelp
Went for a work dinner, so luckily didn't have to pay attention to the prices... ;-) They're high-ish but it's Zurich and I think it's OK for what you get. I found the greatest thing about this restaurant was the service. Super friendly and accomodating, didn't forget a thing, always there when needed without hovering. Really great. Location is good (but not for you if you're looking for something "traditionally nice and pretty"), industrial feel in an area where there are mostly hotels and office buildings. Sitting outside is nice, not crowded and actually not very noisy despite the location on the street. Had a quick look inside and liked the minimalist interior design. The food was good but not over the moon exciting. Modern twist on Swiss/Western European food. Veggie options available. I had Caesar salad without bacon for a starter (OK... but nothing special) and Ravioli with figs and some cheese - which were nice but a bit heavy and could have done with more veggies and less cheese. Can't remember which red wine we had (Spanish..) but it was good. Overall very nice evenig. Recommended to people who can spare the change.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant. Food is great and nicely presented. It is not a cheap place but it is aligned with the quality. Good wine selection. Designed place. Will definitly go there again.

Yelp
Schiffbau is one of quite interesting restaurant to visit in Zurich. I had to walk around back and forth to find the entrance to the restaurant because this restaurant is in the middle of warehouse looking empty hall. But once you enter the restaurant, it is quite trendy yet elegant. service is great. Food was also good. It's a good place for a date night or business dinner.

Yelp
Great accommodations- we were in late at Novatel on Sunday night, called over and although the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes, the manager told the 3 of us to come over. We started with the special fillet cubes of horse, we never thought we would ever eat horse, but it was the most tender and flavorful dish. Prepared perfectly. We had the veal and deer dishes and they were prepared very well also. Overall a great dinner in the most unimpressive looking building from the outside. Looked like it was a warehouse at some point. Inside was the most interesting decor, surrounded in glass, ceiling as well, made for a unique dining experience. Great job, and thank you! The best meal in Zurich!!

Yelp
Great food, nice ambiance, easy to reach and a good crowd. Quite enjoyed this place for a business dinner with four. The service was really good and paid lots of attention to us, even noting that certain dishes were better than others. Really made an effort to make us happy. The only drawback I found was that the room was quite loud. There was an event in the theater right next door and the building in general was packed which made it a bit difficult to move around and the noise level was respectively loud. Otherwise, specifically for the food, a place to defintiely try out when in Zurich.

Yelp
The place was a bit strange, but nice. The people was a mix of all kind of people. It's like a big canteen. The service for the food was fast and good, but not that special. (Maybe because we have to leave within an our)But the service at the bar was very slowly. The food was very good. I like the menu. You'll never know what's on the menu. And that's a good thing. There's one more thing that i don't like: You have to make a reservation. (But that's really a Swiss thing, i think)

Yelp
Very trendy restaurant in Zurich West. You are eating in a glass restaurant. It's worth impressing your partner. Food is excellent! Prices a bit at the higher end

Yelp
This is one of my favourite restaurants in town. It's not cheap, but for a special night out, it's worth it. I especially love the scallops with mango and avocado salad. It's a great place for vegetarians too, their homemade pasta dishes are always top notch and their fish is served fresh and perfectly cooked. I personally go for the beef and mashed potatoes usually. Yum. The location is neat too, in an old ship building factory. I call it "The glass box".

Yelp
Alright food for a lot of money! the building is amazing but 40 quid for a plate of meat that you have to spend another 7-10 francs to get a side dish to have with your meat. We went in there by mistake. Had a nice meal but the prices are shocking for what you get.
