Very tasty food. You can try here the real french dishes like frog legs or snails. They also have great wine and beer. It is a good place to taste some good food.

One little germ hidden away in the old town, quite surrounding, amazing service, delicious food with reasonable price... I'll keep coming back ☺️

Food was very average; both the entrecôte and the prime cut were very tough and everything was incredibly greasy. The stew of the day was dry and flavourless. Service was great, until we had a complaint and after that they were not interested. Overpriced and would not recommend.

The flavour of the food were correct, even good, the service was ok, just one suggestion, for the price that you guys are proposing, the presentation of the dish needs to Improve, at the moment... its looking like an overpriced cantine food.

Great find tucked away on the street of the Monnaie, well worth a visit, reasonable prices, good choice and generous servings

Peaceful and warm atmosphere. The staff’s attention to details and meticulous care does not go unnoticed. When you order regardless of who comes to bring it they know who ordered what without asking. The food was excellent and arrived pretty fast. The only reason I don’t give 5/5 is that the appetiser could have used some lemon juice (salmon tartare) but it’s my personal taste. I had duck with green pepper sauce which was to die for. I got out full but not too much, calm and happy.

The place is nice. When you want to go out for a nice dinner, it's a nice place to go to. The day we went there, I think our server was not having the best day on his life. He was a nice person, I think, maybe just not day. I'm not being polite. I'm trying to be factual and objective. I think I was expecting a lot from the food and that's why was not completely happy. Not that it's not good. It's good. I think I was expecting great and didn't get it that day. But that was my dish. My friend's dish was AWEsome! He had the kidneys. And another friend who ordered the same dish as mine (the 7 hours' lamb) had better tasting meat than mine. I'm telling you, it's a nice place. Go there. It just probably wasn't my day. Nor that of our server 🤷🏽‍♀️

We went for the cheaper set menu and that may have been a mistake. All courses underwhelming. ( And that was the response from 2 of the 4 of us) Mistakes made with our order ( may have been a translation issue) waiting staff didn't know certain dishes were sold out, service could have been more slick. Wine was great. Ambience could have been better. Ultimately not my kind of place.

Yelp
This is an absolutely lovely place for a delicious French meal. The restaurant is slightly set back from the road and seems a little grander than its neighbours but it's a buzzy, friendly place with high ceilings and lots of tables in various sub-areas. Food-wise, there is a menu of the week. We tried the terrine and the squid, both were good, squid slightly ordinary if I was being fussy. We also shared the crayfish gratin. This consisted of crayfish and mushrooms in a creamy delicate sauce, good portion size, plenty of crayfish and full of delicious sauce, perfect excuse for eating more french bread! For mains, we got chicken in red wine sauce served with tagliatelle and beef with mushroom sauce and potato dauphinose. Oh my goodness, the beef was super soft, the mushroom sauce rich and flavourful and the dauphinose as garlicky, soft, creamy and umptuous as you would hope. The chicken was dense with red wine flavour but the pasta was a little over-cooked. I had no space for dessert but I was told the tiramisu was great. The 2 courses cost €24. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we found ourselves here again for lunch the next day! For starters, we had smoked herring with beetroot and endive salad which was delicate but flavourful. I had the ravioli with cep sauce. This was an amazing bowl of mini ravioli filled with cheese and in a gorgeous mushroom sauce. It was perfection. At lunchtime, you can get a main from the menu of the week and coffee for €13. I got the beef again because I was sooo good, I couldn't leave without having it again. My friend tried the fish which was light and delicious. Overall, we loved this restaurant, service was good, there's an English menu but this is no indication of a lower standard because of this. The staff spoke some some English too and were friendly throughout. I didn't hear any other English voices so it's obviously a local's favourite. I could come here for 2 or 3 more meals because the menu is so interesting and the quality so good, there's so much more to try! I would highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
After shopping at Maje, L asked the sales woman where we should go for lunch. She recommended here and I definitely think she has really good taste buds because this place is really good. This place was once the royal mint for Louis XIV, this 18th century townhouse is now home to a stylish and contemporary restaurant run by the son of the owner of A l'Huîtrière. Entrées : Velouté d'endives aux écrevisses - So good and very addictive! moelle osseuse - they give you a generous proportion unlike DBGB in NYC. Plats : Lotte with Lardons - really really really good and soooooooooooooooo filling. A bit on the salty side but too good for me to pass up. confit de canard - L ate this all up and I thought this was really good as well. I love canard when I am in France! I can't remember which Apéritif, we ordered but it was delicious! This place also offers English version menu in case you can't read French! Great service though we did have a problem with them giving us water! Other than that...PERFECT! Oh yeah this place has a glass window ceiling, so a lot of natural light shines through and it's just an amazing place to have lunch.

Yelp
Fantastic atmosphere, ideal location, but very, very mediocre food. This was some months ago, so I don't remember what we ordered but my wife and I were both underwhelmed with our lunches. I also remember the woman at the table next to mine complaining to the chef about her veal. Do yourself a gigantic favor and walk up the street a little ways to a great restaurant specializing in local Flanders cuisine. I won't mention the name of it here, but you can find it in my previous reviews. You'll pay just a little bit more for even better atmosphere, food that is true gourmet-standard, and excellent regional beer.

Yelp
Posh, expensive restaurant that had me frantically checking my wallet to check that I had enough money to handle the 'reckoning'! But the food was so so good, probably the best meal I had in Lille. I can't remember the fancier names on the menubut I had some kind of sausage/potatoe starter which was small but delicious and my main course of a steak 'langue du chat' (no cats were harmed in the making of this meal.but I suspect a cow was left less then happy!) with béarnaise sauce and chips. This was equally delicious as my starter and both left the kind of taste that stays with you until you next eatin a good wayexcept possibly if you breathe on people. The wine was really good. I think this is the kind of place more for a special occasion, if you are taking a client out for a meal maybe or you have a big date. I think this was the 2nd most expensive meal I have ever had to pay forbut it is worth treating yourself now and again. I noticed one of the French reviews seems to suggest that that place is not too dear, so I can only guess that either the reviewer is loaded or that I was just severely shafted (can I say thatit is a lot tamer than my initial thought) by the exchange rate.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant a couple of nights ago whilst visiting friends. I can safely say that it is one of the best meals that i have had in France. All 3 of us found the food to be superb and cannot fault it in any way. The waitress was attentive and ensured that we had a truly wonderful meal. Whilst the prior review spoke of poor service, we arrived at 1930 when the restaurant was very quiet so had no problems in this regard. The place is large so i can imagine that service does start to fade once it fills but, again, was not a problem for us. At 22EUR for a 3-course meal when using the set menu (17EUR for two courses), this is certainly a meal that will not break the bank but will leave you suitably content that it is great value for money

Yelp
I've got mixed feelings about this posh restaurant. Lovely service and atmosphere, but the food is not that fantastic. The formule hebdo set menu is alright: 23 euros for a starter, a main dish (you can't choose the side dish, though) and a dessert (which was delicious). The food is reasonably tasty, but for the price you can eat much better elsewhere in Lille. The rest of the menu is really expensive, and although I haven't tried it (I ordered the set menu), it seems way too pricey for what you get. In a nutshell, I wasn't disappointed, I had a good meal, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to go back.
