Last Dollar Saloon

Anyone who gives less than 5 stars are out of their minds. This place is great. The roof top is a great place for a mid-day beer. Their choice of music is perfect. I'm visiting from Las Vegas and spent the day doing "Telluride" things, and this was a perfect spot to just relax and have a great beer before heading back to campsite.

The best drinks in town and at a great price! Staff was friendly, got to meet some locals. The rooftop bar had the best views. We stopped here every day while we visited Telluride!

Great place to start the evenings. Rooftop was nice. Not too busy for a Sunday. Lots of people brining in pizza from Browndog next door! Views are perfect too.

Eric was fantastic—his drinks were spot on. Not sure where the bad reviews came from, because this bar is an easy 5/5. Even coming from downtown Chicago with all the ‘upscale vibes,’ I’d choose this place every time.

Horrible customer service. My mom is new to drinking beer so learning what she likes. She asked which draft was the lightest tasting. Bartender was extremely rude/inconvenienced that he had to give information on the beers they offer. I then asked if she could sample one and he said we were stealing his money as he had to pay for the beer we tasted. I could have been understanding had he not already accosted my mom for simply asking which draft beers were lighter. I walked out, would not give that man a damn penny. Not surprised to see they are rated below a 4.0 on here and most negative reviews are the same thing, horrible staff. It’s too bad as this used to be a go to. The guy was acting like he owns the place which if he does, that’s even worse to me. Pack up and move to a secluded area as you shouldn’t be interacting with people for any reason. If he’s not the owner, then he’s definitely trying to sabotage this business.

Place is the local yuppie bar. I came in for drinks and ordered and asked for $2 in quarters. The bartender said that’s against their policy to give out change. Need I remind you, you’re in a service based business. I walked myself over to the Sheridan to get the quarters I needed to do laundry instead.

Beware – I would never step foot in Last Dollar Saloon again. Unfortunately, my friends and I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this bar. We were enjoying the rooftop with drinks in hand, waiting for two more friends to join us, when a man—either the bartender or owner—approached us in an extremely rude and aggressive manner. He demanded that we either buy more drinks or leave, claiming others were waiting for rooftop seating. In reality, every one of us had already purchased drinks, and there was no line or visible group waiting for seats upstairs. The behavior was shocking, especially in a town like Telluride, which is usually known for its laid-back, friendly vibe—typical of most ski towns. Even nearby customers expressed their disbelief at how we were treated. I’m not sure if this was a situation of racism or a man who has serious anger issues. I truly hope the ownership reevaluates how they treat their patrons, or that new management steps in to create a more welcoming environment. As it stands, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

This place is all about the view. Tain or shine it's a gorgeous view. No service to there but the bar service is friendly and responsive.

Friends and I were walking in downtown Telluride when one said I just want to check out this old saloon. So we all traipsed in. Patti the bartender greeted us with a smile and a "hey, how you doing?" Although we were just there to look at the beautiful old bar, her friendly manner and the three dollar draft beers convinced us to stay. In addition to the $3 beers, there were $7 well drinks and $10 fancy drinks. The best prices in Telluride by a long shot! The bar was a mix of skiers, locals and looking-lou folks like my friends and I! Patti kept the drinks cold and the conversation light. We ordered pizza at Brown Dog Pizza next door and ate it at the bar. Patti said eating pizza at the bar was perfectly acceptable so long as we disposed of the pizza box ourselves. Seemed like a fair deal. One of the best meals (and least expensive) we enjoyed while in Telluride.

The Last Dollar is a very cool local watering hole in the heart of Telluride. The bartenders are super friendly - it can be hard to get a hold of them as the bar gets very crowded, but they are all quick to serve you up. The views from the rooftop are excellent. You get a great landscape vision of mountains, and the experience gets more philosophical with every beer. Questions will pop up in your mind about your place in the universe and what you are doing with your life. That damn view!

Typical saloon with affordable drinks, plenty of seating, a fireplace to warm up after a long day on the slopes, and a handful of TVs to catch your game of choice! I opted for a Rum Punch specialty cocktail... because of course I did when it had light rum, dark rum, and passion fruit (among other ingredients)! We grabbed the corner table near the entrance and enjoyed the comfy cushioned seating. On a Friday night, it was quiet enough to have a conversation, but also busy enough that you had to squeeze up to the bar to order a drink. I would definitely stop at the Saloon again! ****FOUR STARS****

Upon walking in. and on the rooftop, the two staff we interacted with were extremely rude so we went somewhere else.

As a local, I'm glad I only have to go to the buck once a year - great location terrible service.

Had delicious drinks with generous pours and attentive friendly service. Love the large selection of cocktails. Our group tried 4 different drinks and all were fabulous. Sat inside and enjoyed the vibe and then moved to rooftop for views.

Only place in town with $3 beers! Great local vibe and drink menu, I don't know when I'll be back but a visit to last dollar is mandatory for a telluride trip!

Visited here today and it will be my last visit. We were on the roof. One in our party was finishing their drink while we were playing cards. Owner/bartender came up and asked if the rest of us were drinking. We said no we are done and he said "I'm running a business here this isn't the library. Get something to drink or go" So...we left never to come back again. Based on other reviews it sounds like the same guy has problems communicating to customers. He could have handled this in a way a bit more professional to the point where I may have considered buying another beer but why give this jerk my money? You should consider the same and avoid this place.

The service at this place is terrible. I was in the bar playing darts with some friends and the bartender said that if we aren't buying drinks then we have to leave. We ended up caving and got a few drinks since they were only $3, but when the drinks finally arrived we found some gunk in our drinks and it was absolutely disgusting. Definitely will not be coming ever again.

Love the rooftop. Great views. Wish Rhey had food but it's nice to make a quick stop here for the view.

Loved my Ranch Water here; it's $15 but really a double. We sat on roof and enjoyed the view . Bartender guy not very friendly

I have been frequenting this establishment with my family for 25 years. Last night was the last straw. We were having a drink at the bar, and a new female bartender showed up. When my husband asked her for a fresh round he tried to strike up a convo and said we were from texas. She very hatefully said, "i can tell." I guess she doesn't like Texans! We come from the Midwest where everyone is friendly. She wasn't having it. For NO apparent reason after slamming our drinks on the bar, she turned her back and flipped us off in front of the entire bar. My husband tried to ask her what her problem was and she started verbally abusing us both. Screaming at us both to F off. The male bartender was nice enough to tab us out and apologized for her behavior. We asked for the managers email which he supplied. We emailed this am to report this episode to find that it isn't a valid email address. My advice: stay away, this place has gotten too big for its britches. Albeit it has the charm of a long ago saloon, but the service has always been subpar. Go to the Sheridan bar, people are nice and respectful and the bar is way cooler anyway!!!

What a great find! The staff was so welcoming! The vibe was incredible. Huge fire place and historic charm. Check this place out, you won't be sorry!

For an establishment that is trying to stay open, the attitude of the manager toward patrons certainly doesn't align with that goal. Rudeness to your out of town guests the moment they walk in will lose business every time. Been in Telluride all week, and have not experienced anything like today at this saloon. Would suggest to the owner some training for staff. They apparently are "frustrated" with customers. If everyone faces the same experience I did, there won't be customers for long. Again to the owner...when we recounted our experience to the next place our party went, the response was that "The Last Dollar has a reputation of rudeness, which is unfortunate because folks like you pay our rent". I won't be going back, but hopefully this serves as feedback that help to improve your reputation.

Loved the atmosphere of this place. However, tonight we were there (4 of us and like 7 total in the place). We were playing songs on the AMI jukebox in the bar. We had lined up (paid for) about ten songs in the AMI app. All of a sudden our music stopped and the entire album of Eric Church played (cut our songs off). The ami jukebox showed our songs were still playing. When asked, the bartender said he didn't know what happened: he had just tried to turn the volume down and it messed up. We left and went to another bar Bc it seemed like they just didn't like our music and now I'm stuck trying to get my money back from AMI (and they lost a lot of money as this was our last night in town). If you don't want certain music to play, remove the AMI jukebox. I'm giving 2 stars Bc we went yesterday and the bartender during the day was excellent.

Had one of my worst bar/restaurant experiences ever here last night. Our party attempted to stop in for a drink, and were both screamed at and spoken to disrespectfully by an incredibly rude female bartender. She was insulting to the degree that she asked "Can't you read the sign"? After she was already mad she told us we couldn't be accommodated, despite the fact there was plenty of open seating. Huge fail. We happily moved along and found service elsewhere. Plenty of other bars on this nearby strip and you should patron Tellurides much kinder venues. I hope the owner takes notice and action of this.

This place was packed, but while window shopping places to grab a drink I noticed that everyone here looked like they were having a great time. There was live music, lots of seating and standing room, and a long bar with plenty of seats. They even have foosball! While we were there the refrigerator was down, but they still had over 10 different beer options on tap. I'd love to stop back in when I can take advantage of their full selection. The bartenders were quick to serve us and very nice.

Terrible experience with an incredibly rude employee on the roof at Last Dollar. A simple misunderstanding was blown out of proportion that could have been beyond easily resolved with a little bit of respect, courtesy, and communication. The staff and service and friendliness is way better at Smugglers down the street.

I don't suggest anyone patronize this dive bar. The bartender is rude, insulting and doesn't wash his hands!!!

I came here for a night of drinks after a concert. The overall vibe and staff seemed fine. I ordered two drinks and waited for my card to be ran. The bartender disappeared, so I just assumed she forgot I wanted the check closed and returned to my group with the drinks. I come back ten minutes later when the bar is less busy. I order another drink from a new bartender and tell him my name on the tab. He says he doesn't have a tab with that name and I let him know what happened. He checks again and comes back with a card and a closed tab. While I appreciated the discounted drinks, the card wasn't mine. I ask for the original bartender and he asks me to come back. Ten minutes later, I return and the other bartender looks for the card. At this point my party is ready to leave and I say goodbye to my friends who I barely had a chance to talk to. The bartender says that she remembers setting the card down on the bar. I've been in the hospitality industry for ten years (bartender) and I've never just set some ones card down on the bar without them visibly seeing me do it. So at this point, I'm afraid that my card might be stolen and not just lost behind the bar. The bartender takes my information down and asks me to come back tomorrow. I ask her name and she mentions that she is part owner. I am a little relieved, but the following day when we are leaving town, I return to the bar. Its closed until 2pm and we have to leave by 11am. I see someone in the bar cleaning for the opening shift. The guy ignores my knocks and obvious waves and disappears to the back. I try calling a few times, go run some errands and come back. The employee sees me walking up and hides in the back. I come to find that my credit card has been charged for a random amount of $20. I ordered two beers. Where did this number come from? I still haven't received as much as a phone call.

Stoped I'm at the Last Dolpar in Telkyride for a quick beer and a coffee. Bartender was great. Btewed fresh coffee for my husband, I had a Pilsner on tap. Very nice saloon!

Avoid this place. My husband and I were shopping in Telluride and asked a store clerk were the best "local" place was. She pointed across the way to The Last Dollar. It looked great; people on the rooftop patio, and a cowhide chair in the window. That's where the charm begins and ends. Walked in and approached the bar directly where a bartender was making a few margaritas. He did not acknowledge us whatsoever. We continue to be patient believing he is terrible at multitasking and can't figure out how to say,"hey guys, I'll be right with you." He leaves to drop off the drinks two stools down and then goes to count his tips in the corner of the bar. We continue to wait. Another bartender comes behind the bar. He chats with a few people a few stools down and we wave at him and smile to indicate we had been waiting (at this point, several minutes.) some other people walk in, this new bartender acknowledges them warmly, takes their order, prepares their drinks RIGHT IN FRONT OF US and finally acknowledges that he will be with us ASAP. Finally it is our turn. We order our beers and open a tab. They are served to us void of charm, manners, and we felt sooooo out of place. We go upstairs to check out the rooftop patio. It's bland and charmless as well. We promptly head back downstairs, and sit there. The bar has no interesting features at all. It's sterile and cold and full of 50 year old dudes in skate shoes. No activities such as bar games. Passive aggressive bartenders. They were playing gangster rap. Super weird. One of the weirdest bars I've been to. I am also exceptionally polite and all of the bars we went to subsequently in Telluride returned the favor. Hang some stuff on the walls, get a shuffleboard table, and teach your bartenders some manners.

Absolutely the worst service in the world. The waitress was so unbelievably rude it was almost funny. All of our group could not believe how absolutely horrible this experience was. The waitress went from waiving her finger in our faces to yelling at us. She even told us we should be lucky we were there after we had reservations to be there. Thank god we had dinner reservations elsewhere so we could leave. This place is hell and our waitress was the queen of it. It's one thing to deal with bad customers and another to be a bad server attacking and making your good customers feel unwelcome.

When we checked into our house, the guy that showed us around told us that this was the place you went to kick it. This is my kind of bar! No frills, no food even, just full bar and beers on tap. Bar is along the left wall whenever you walk in and seating on the right. There's also a fireplace on the right so you can get warmed up from the cold! Plus a stage down at the back of the bar where sometimes you can sit and other times there's a band. There's a jukebox you can play straight from your AMI app, which we took advantage of. The bartenders were great but not in that friendly, talk your face off way. More in that here's your drink made strong and quick, enjoy, kind of way. I don't have a problem with that. Also, when we ordered vodka soda it came in a tall glass - I am not sure what's up with that, if it was a double or what, but we didn't ask for that and we like doubles so I was A-OK with that! And honestly, these were the cheapest drinks I had the entire week other than the ones I made at our townhouse. We liked this place so much we came back again during the week on a night that they had a band and it seemed to be a lot more locals out than tourists. We chit chatted with someone that we had met earlier in the week and had a good time. Definitely will come here again on my next trip to Telluride.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I can't just let this place go on being rude to customers.,Don't even waste your time coming here. The bar tenders are rude, the drinks taste like shit, and the vibe is horrible. I ordered the same drink two times over 15 minutes and they never brought it. They ignored me until I finally got up and left.

Covid has changed a lot of things, but it should never be an excuse to be awful towards other people. We attempted to stop in last night and have a drink. As soon as we walked in, the girl at the bar started screaming at us saying that we couldn't come in and asking why we couldn't follow directions on some sign at the front door. A sign that was turned around and not visible upon entry. We apologized for not seeing it and then she proceeded to tell us how she wouldn't serve us despite having plenty of seating available. I have never seen anything like this at a restaurant or bar. Terribly rude and absolutely uncalled for. I'd never support a bar that allows their employees to berate customers for for simply walking in and hoping to have a nice night.

The Last Dollar is a must visit while in Telluride. We were there during mud season and still, this place was hopping most of the time. It's a pretty simple bar, with no food, but has tons of character, and if you like cheap drinks in an expensive town, look no further.

I would NEVER spend my last dollar here. Rude, dirty, and condescending bartenders..no one is friendly or will serve you without basically a smoke signal. many better places to spend your money

The bartender was super friendly and accommodating, and then made a mean Paloma. Rooftop views are great.

12/26/21, I came back to the bar after being treated rudely the day before because, ambiance was cool and I wanted to watch the football game. While I was there I bought several rounds drinks when a gentleman came in with his service dog and was met by the rude owner/bartender . He was asked for proof of the dog being a certified service dog and the gentleman showed him proof on his phone. The bartender responded I need to see paper proof and "I don't like you so I'm not serving you and get out". I abruptly closed my tab out and if there are any questions I'm the guy who gave you no tip and left with my family. I WOULD NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME IN THIS PLACE. By the way that was my son who called you a "fucking Dick". Hope that tells y'all the story about this place.

Last night was the Balloon Glow. Last Dollar had their rooftop open. There were probably 25 people in that area. At approximately 9:00 a guy who had on a white apron, a baseball cap and dark bushy hair... came into the area and started screaming at everyone to get the F&@k OUT. He was walking like he was going to break bad on everyone up there. No one had asked us to leave.... everyone was confused and then pissed. I head from several that they would never be back. He was an a$$.... no excuse. I just went to get our pizza at brown dog... I was going to talk to a manager at Last Dollar... but they were closed. Hope Last Dollar gets rid of this employee... absolutely not good for business.

My fiancé and I came here for some drinks before dinner! They have a large menu and everyone was friendly and attentive! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a casual spot for some drinks/beers!

Love the Buck! The team that runs this bar are top notch and have the best customer service in town. Love the addition of the rooftop bar. Keep up the good work everyone!

I just don't get it. The "Buck" was awesome. Why did they have to go and ruin such a great place. This place now has all the charm and character of the lobby at a Hilton. (Nothing against Hilton) I guess they were going for that kind of vibe. Killed it. Purse hangers and outlets to charge you phone are everywhere which is great if you remember to bring yours from home. It feels like a Starbucks. The bar top looks like it came from a folding table, the ceiling looks like an afterthought. It's almost like someone just gave up. If this place was a colour, it would be beige. As someone else mentioned, the drinks are shit. I'm not quite certain how you can screw up a vodka/cran but somehow it's doable. The bartender had all the personality of a fern. Watching the other patrons, I noticed a few leaving after just one drink. We did the same. When I lived here, this is where you would go to talk about the news of the day. "A locals joint". Now, it's just like any other generic bar. The tourists might like it because they don't know any different. There are much better options in town. I would encourage you to try them.

Best roof top bar in Telluride! Bar itself is fun and up tempo vibe with roof top bar that's free to move around and socialize. Great views! Other one has canopies over each table blocking all views. So go here, have drinks downstairs and in the roof, you'll thank me later

Really like this place. Cheap drinks and good tunes on the jukebox. They don't serve food here but you can bring food in from elsewhere. My friends and I had a really good time here. The bartenders are always friendly. They also have self serve water which I appreciate. Why don't all bars have that? The place is usually hopping and it's a great little saloon to hang out for a while. I was glad to see they had Cabernet sauv as I am not a beer drinker. Don't know what the house wine was but it was cheap and drinkable.

This is the best rooftop bar in Telluride! What's not to love about those gorgeous mountain views?! The staff was extremely friendly and chatty and gave us tips on where else to visit in town. When the rooftop got busy enough they opened a second bar up there so we didn't even have to walk back down for more drinks.

I would give zero stars if i could, Just saying the security guard outiside of dollar saloon is racist asf and said i as a black women deserved to lose my life becuase i left my ID at home and tried to use a bathroom at a bar that already served and checked me.. also when i WILLINGLY went outside and waited after he didnt accept my 3 forms of id, he came outside and said "really an ID on your phone?" I said verbatim "I understand youre doing you're job and you could lose your liquour license, im a cocktail server I completely understand." He went to go on and say no "i wouldnt be surprised if you were SHOT OR BEAT for NOT HAVING ID".. mind you i was outside waiting for my friends minding my own business not trying to sneak in or anything. I was literally waiting outside in the 32 degree weather.. oh AND had a picture of my forgotten ID (I had to photocopy my Id and insurance for this trip and left my ID in the printer, which I explained to them) a credit card to match and a picture school id to match the picture ID on my phone. also we had ALREADY bought 2 drinks and we left a $30 tip... that's 200%+ gratuity... I already felt uncomfortable as the only black person in this space and this was definitely the cherry on top. DONT COME IF YOURE A POC THEY WILL DISCRIMINATE. I feel bad for the bartender though with the long the long hair he was really kind. But lets be honest most of you reading this are probably white and this wont effect you at all

This is a wonderful watering hole. The people are all down to earth and so friendly. It's definitely a saloon and that was the reason we went in. Drink prices are great and the bartender was amazing

Very rude staff, asked for a table for 4 and the response was 'what does it look like? I just seated all of these people. Don't try to wait' - really disappointing because I really liked this place in the past.

Telluride's "dive" bar but to me was fairly nice and really clean. I like the rooftop bar (cash only). Not much else to say.

I don't even know where to begin. Went in and got a table for 4. 3 of us were there and ordered drinks for everyone. Our fourth party member came in and walked to our table. The guy working basically argued with our fourth guest about not waiting at the door. The place knew we had a fourth and we were waiting. They were super rude about the situation. It could have been handled a lot better. I do not recommend.

THEE bar to go to in Telluride. Wide variety of beers, tvs, and great bartenders. All you need in a bar really. We tried going to other bars but always came back here.

Bartenders treat you like shit here. Management does not respond to the MANY bad reviews based off poor service. Go spend your money at a place that will appreciate your business.

Let me start out by saying this bar is really cool. The only reason I am even wasting my time writing this review is because of what my wife and I witnessed tonight. For the second night in a row, we were greeted with a lot of attitude from the same bartender. Some big guy with a man bun and a big ego from California. Long story short, I watched this guy literally jump over the bar twice and drag a patron out by his feet. I am not defending the guy that was thrown out but it was extremely wrong to throw someone to the ground and drag them out by their feet. That is not how a business should conduct itself. I hope this guy gets fired.

Sat for 10 minutes at the bar without being greeted or "I'll be right with you". It was not busy, the bar seats were only half full. The bartender (just seems bad at multi tasking and should not be a bartender if that is the case) then helped 2 guys who had just walked in. We left.

Shitty. Older Man in a blue athletic shirt working at the bar was super rude from the moment we stepped in the building. Was really condescending and wasn't wearing a mask. When we made a reservation it didn't say that the saloon was 21+, we only learned that once we got there and were booted out very unkindly.
