Enjoyed our first (and with them closing) likely last visit. Good food, lively atmosphere. The Hungarian schnitzel stood out. The German potato salad was a surprisingly good side- it’s served warm and savory. Good German beer selection. Seemed there was a lot of fun cocktail and wine options but didn’t order any of these. Came on a busy Friday night and good service, I know the staff was working their tails off.

Hungarian beef goulash, Stuffed cabbage, Chicken schnitzel. Excellent food and amazing atmosphere. The flavors of the dishes Reminds me of homemade and non-commercial dishes. I will be back

Google
Food was good. We had a reservation for 6 pm for 8 people. Idiot hostess gave our table away to another large party despite us all being there. Then we waited only a few minutes before being seated up stairs, where there was no heat. We were up there for at least 40 minutes after Erin orders before the food was ordered. We did order and had an app. Then we didn’t see anyone for ages. It was approaching an hour since we ordered, I went to ask about our food. Then not long after that it all came up. Food was good but based on the temp of mine had clearly been sitting for a long time.

Google
So glad I found this place! I was craving a cabbage roll & theirs didn't disappoint! All of our meals & sides were delicious. The service was also on-point, thanks Bailey!

Google
A friend took me here for my birthday. I ordered Hungarian schnitzel. It tasted like baby food. Did not like. Rolls were food. The staff that brought out the food was kind of rude. But the host and waitress were super sweet.

Google
First time eating at Laszlo's. The food was good except the chicken livers were a little mushy. Everything else was great. Our server Grace did an awesome job.

Google
A new dinner favorite for me! I was able to try their Italian schnitzel, spaetzle, goulash, cabbage rolls, German potato salad, and potato pancakes and everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend ordering the sharable option if you are a group of two (that's what I did). The staff was incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was very nice and I think it's really nice that they have an upstairs area that they use when it gets busy. Overall, definitely a great place to eat in Cincinnati

Google
First time eating here today and we were very pleased with the restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff very kind and respectful. We had a waitress named Denee (petite lady with gaged ears) who attended to us in the outside seating area. She was an absolute joy and pleasure to be around. Beautiful personality and very attentive for how busy the restaurant was. She deserves a raise for all her hard work and dedication to her tables. The food was well seasoned and we enjoyed sampling a little of everything. Photos submitted of different german food we ate. We plan to return again very soon. Thanks to the staff for a yummy dinner and wonder service.

Yelp
Looking for something different, we headed to the far East side for some Eastern European food. After some interweb digging I found Lazlo's. The place was busy, but we were seated quickly, even though it was a Friday. It took a while to get a server, which was a theme for the night, but it did eventually happen. There was live music upstairs and outside. But no guarantee of non-smoking outside. We chose inside and were seated within 2 feet of another table. A loud, political table. Ugh. Not the restaurant's fault, other than putting tables so close together. I had the Szekely Goulash, while decent, the sauce overwhelmed the other flavors. I understand the idea behind a strong flavor, but this was too much. My wife had stuffed cabbage and unlike my goulash, her's was bland. Her born in Poland grandmother would not have been pleased. We did have some tasty potato cakes for an appetizers. They were decent, not Izzy's, but the what can really compare? Overall, kind of disappointing. We won't be back.

Yelp
We come here often as it is right up the street from us. The parking lot was empty last night so it was a delight to be able to get right in. I always get their French onion soup, which is one of my favorites around town. We also asked for bread, it used to be they would automatically bring you bread, and then they changed it to you can only get bread service if you ask for it, and then we were told that they are not supposed to bring you bread if you only get soup. That's a real disappointment.

Yelp
Great food and friendly welcoming service! So hard to choose from many great sounding things. We will definitely be back for more, we had schnitzel and poutine and both were absolutely phenomenal with good sized portions. Definitely worth your time to check out.

Yelp
Laszlo's is a local fave. My go tos are either the sauerkraut and kielbasa or the skillet meatloaf. The mussels are great and so is dessert. They make all of their desserts from scratch, in house. Their beer and spirit selection is vast. Service is always top notch.

Yelp
Stopped by on Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday she wanted to try Laszlo's for some time as she's heard wonderful things about it. They were busy, Stephanie greeted us and sat us a 2-top table gave us menus to review and explained the nights specials. We started with drinks friend with red wine and I enjoyed German beer on draft Weihenstephan hefeweizen and also had an order of the homemade sauerkraut balls which came hot from the oven Then to the menu, Stephanie was great explaining everything to us and we went with the evening specials (I can't remember the exact names), friend went with the cream sauce with mushrooms, pork and potato pancake plus a side of the hot bacon slaw. I went with the other special with the dark sauce with mushrooms with chicken (instead of pork) with spaetzle and potato pancake. Our meals were both delicious we enjoyed every bite. Stephanie was amazing, checking in on us, making sure everything was too our linking. What a wonderful evening of great homemade food, service and restaurant. We will be back for more wonderful local homemade food!

Jenni H.

Yelp
This was the place of choice for our monthly family dinner night. Plenty of parking, we were seated right away. The place is clean, service was fast. I wouldn't say I fell in love with my meal but I will say that has probably everything to do with me and not with the restaurant. I'm positive this is very authentic, regional cooking; it just wasn't my particular taste. (Although I will say it was EXCELLENT heated up for lunch the next day, lol) The portions are great! The only reason I didn't give it a 5th star is for the price. Just a little too high; especially in this area.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! All I can say. This place never misses for us. We have been countless times and the food is delicious every time. The workers are always so nice and the restaurant has a nice homey feel. Highly recommend the livers and the szekler goulash!

Cheryl P.

Yelp
Being second generation Hungarian, I had to try this place and was not disappointed! We started out with palinka flights and their pork crackling (sertés tepertő) WOW! I then had the Szekely Gulyas (Székelykáposzta) it's just like how my Mom and relatives made it. This is worth the trip to come again!

Leslie B.

Yelp
What a great place for German & Polish foods. Had dinner here tonight. Hubby had sauerbraten with German potato salad. He said it was delicious! The potato salad was different than we've had - really delicious! I had the chicken paprikash with spaetzle - it was delicious. The chicken had been simmered in the sauce perfectly - it just fell off the bone. The service was friendly and efficient. This is a great family place with an old world bar area. Very homey. Highly recommend.

Diana M.

Yelp
I have eaten here 2 or 3 times and the food was very good. The service was ok. However today I ordered 2 takeout Thanksgiving specials and there were several issues. Also it appeared that they hugely over-booked and it was a zoo (fortunately I wasn't staying). The turkey on both meals (white meat and leg) was quite good. Everything else was just so-so, they forgot the cranberry sauce, the sweet potatoes tasted straight from the can, and it wasn't ready on time. So for ordinary meals, I definitely recommend them. But maybe skip the holiday specials.

Bishoy S.

Yelp
Always amazing! Truly a hidden gem! All the specials are always so good! Highly recommend!

Mossy G.

Yelp
I almost always get the special and Laszlo's has never let me down, always delicious and the service is the best!!

Karin-Marc Q.

Yelp
We usually go early around 5:30. Service by Abby is always awesome. Food and beverages are really good.

Tanya P.

Yelp
This review is strictly based on a take out experience. I would not recommend it. WE only ordered sandwiches and fries. There were no utensils and no ketchup because the cups weren't made. The food was not very hot. The fish sandwich was just a normal flat filet from the freezer. The fries were unsalted limp and cold. The Reuben looks like it would taste great but the meat was so fatty it was hardly edible. The service here is impeccable. Everyone is very kind and attentive and the service is fast. There are lots of options but those two will never be repeated.

Olivia S.

Yelp
Decent place to try. The bread, oil and vinaigrette were very good. I would o my go back to order the Sauerkraut balls alone, they were great. The kielbasa was gross and the sauerkraut was so soggy and pooling in the bottom of the dish where the dumplings were. I wasn't able to finish it. My husband's food looked okay. The service was great the waitress was super sweet. The restaurant was a pretty neat set up.

Joseph D.

Yelp
What an absolute treat! We were driving through Cinci and stayed the night. This place had promising reviews and it was close to the hotel. We had the dogs so we got take out. In all honesty my expectations for take out are never very high. They had an on line ordering platform that was perfect. Staff was great while picking up. When we got back to the room and dug in, the food was amazing. The Hungarian Schnitzel was perfection. We will drive over here again just to eat here. They also have a great wine list and Thursdays are half priced wine and they offer that promotion to go!

Dorrie C.

Yelp
Food is not what I expected- service was poor assume it was just our server, as the other table came after us at least 15 min but they got their food before us and our food was a bit cold.

Betsy B.

Yelp
The restaurant is such a Diamond in the rough. The cuisine is so authentic! My father in law requests tho eat here every time he comes to town! He is polish and his mother grew up on and had always cooked polish and Hungarian foods from scratch. He said the paprikas and spaetzles are the closest to his mothers cooking as he's ever had. The hot slaw is one of my favorites, my grandmother made it for our family when I was growing up. The food always leads us to sharing family stories which we don't do any place else we go. Highly recommend.

Mike J.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant .Had a drink on the patio. Started to get a little cool. We came inside and got a table. Waited 20 minutes and no one stopped to check our table. Left and went somewhere else. At the next restaurant we have a drink and ordered dinner within 3 minutes. Don't think we will be back.

Bob H.

Yelp
The food can be good. You have to be selected to be part of the elite that eats there. It's not a country club, it's an overpriced Hunky diner. It's very hit and miss and they sometimes are serving, and then the next thing you know, they're telling customers to scram because they are going to have a banquet or party.

Christina E.

Yelp
Delicious food - great staff & owner - cozy atmosphere - I highly recommend. Weekly specials are nice touch if new to place. More Hungarian than German relating to dishes.

Matt L.

Yelp
Laszlo's is a bit of a hike out beyond 275, but it's worth it. We went on chicken dinner night. If you go for this event, go early! We arrived around 6:30 to a packed restaurant and the news that they were down to the final chicken dinner of the night. No matter--only one of us four wanted it. At $10, it's a SCREAMING deal. Around the rest of the table, I had the Szekeler goulash, my girlfriend had the chicken paprikash, and my dad had one of the schnitzels. I think mine was the best of the bunch: vegetables, flavor, delight. My girlfriend's paprikash was the disappointment. We thought it would be piquant, but it was actually pretty bland, alas. Then, dessert. The group had no space left, but I talked them into splitting the Hungarian chocolate cake. For most of us, I think it was the highlight of the meal. A perfect ending!

Julie T.

Yelp
Wow haven't been here in years. We ate outside and Stephanie our server was rocking it. She was fabulous! The food we all had was delicious! I had the chicken shnitzel Holstein style and the egg was cooked perfectly. Cucumber salad and hot slaw weee so good. My husband loved his mashed potatoes sauerkraut and sausage. Another dinner was devoured spaetzle with German potato Salad and Cincinnati style schnitzel. The final dinner Mt friend loved was chicken paprikas. Very affordable. We will be back.

Gregory P.

Yelp
Absolutely terrific food and service. The grouper was better than I have ever had in Florida and my wife's dinner was out of this world. The hot bacon slaw is also the best I have ever had. Will definitely be back.

Megan T.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Lazlos! And our son LOVED the paprikas! The food is incredible and the restaurant is very cool too. We will definitely be back!

Liz M.

Yelp
When family or friends come in from out of town, we always take them to Laszlo's for delicious European style 'comfort food'. Great portions and price point is perfect (love their meatloaf & spaetzle, cabbage rolls and goulash dishes). Always run into neighbors in the dining room, so is definitely a popular choice in our area.

Paul H.

Yelp
Have dined here a few times before but usually during warmer weather. The food selections have never disappointed us. The Hungarian cuisine is well done and delicious. Warm pretzels with bier cheese and cabbage rolls are my go to appetizers. My wife had the beef goulash with spatzel & braised red cabbage. I went with the pork goulash and whipped potatoes with gravy. Delicious. Wait staff is courteous and attentive. Short wait for a table considering we arrived @ 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Great selection of draft beers and an extensive selection of top shelf bourbon. Will definitely recommend and return in the future.

Scott C.

Yelp
Went there on Thursday for one of there wild game nights. The venison schnitzel was very good. Haven't been here in years and glad to see the recipes haven't changed. I'll be back next week for the hasenpfeffer.

Jeannie H.

Yelp
Fantastic menu Lovely atmosphere Friendly staff Great vibe Family friendly. The outdoor seating is great. Live music adds to the vibe.

Logan H.

Yelp
Fast facts 2022: Service: Not the fastest, but they are very transparent about their staffing woes and struggles. Food: Hungarian, which means different flavor profiles than you may be used to. Patio: Amazing and casual. Order and pay at bar. Was recently traveling through Ohio and met up with some family members I hadn't seen in years at Lazlo's. Ended up being the perfect place! I've seen the reviews about slow service, but I was more interested in catching up with family than immediate food delivery. Food was worth the wait. The biergarten was completely empty so plenty of room for our kids to run around and be kids while the adults talked, all without causing a disturbance. The wait staff were extremely kind and did their best to run out to us and fill drinks and bring food while attending their dedicated tables within. One of our waitresses was Czech and could not have been more attentive to our table. Food was amazing! Did not expect to get authentic Hungarian food while I was in Ohio. Flavor profiles were very unique. However they have more traditional American foods as well. The bread was amazing and warm and the dipping oil was superb! Sauerkraut balls- fried breaded balls of sauerkraut. Similar appearance to hush puppies, except with sauerkraut inside. These reminded me of the Texas state fair where everything is breaded and fried! Delicious with their spicy mustard. Schnitzel with spatzle - very similar to fried pork chop. Very tender and crisp. Spatzle tender and tasty. They do offer many varieties to their Schnitzel. You can get it with multiple seasonings and sauces. Chicken Paprika with spatzle - for me this was the most different flavor profile on this one. Unlike anything I've had before. Very seasoned but it was still very tasty. Chicken was juicy and tender. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere for a family gathering, wonderful staff.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I no longer live in the area, otherwise I would go more often. The family run restaurant has had their restaurant in several locations around the Cincinnati area. Their current spot is their best yet. They have a lot more space to accommodate all their longtime customers and welcome any and all new ones. One visit, and you will become a regular...really! Food and service has always been great! May seem like a bit of a drive for some, but worth the extra effort. A long-time favorite that I make sure to visit whenever I am in town.

Kate T.

Yelp
We've had Laszlo's many times over the past couple of years. It is consistently good and works well for take-out and dine-in. Our favorite dishes are the homemade rolls, meatloaf, chicken dinner special, hungarian goulash, and the schnitzel sandwich. The take-out is usually still hot and fresh when we get home. We've only eaten there a couple of times, but the atmosphere is cozy and service is solid. We often order Laszlo's when our friends and family visit, and they are always impressed.

Mike F.

Yelp
Good food and atmosphere. Cabbage rolls, Wiener schnitzel and Hungarian goulash were great. Good service.

Jill S.

Yelp
Looking for something beyond the usual pub food and fast food, this establishment came up on the feed. It's proximity to the hotel and carry out menu plus online ordering we're all bonuses! The food was outstanding - held together in the to-go containers, the service was also top-notch! When I went in to pick up my order- I asked if they would sell a bottle of wine to go- because they had interesting Hungarian and Austrian wines you aren't going to find at a local liquor stop or Kroger. And- they did- AND it was half price wine night! I don't know when I'll be back on the east side of Cinci- but if I am- I'm making a point to dine in!

Nancy S.

Yelp
Authentic Hungarian cuisine. Everything on the menu is exquisite, and perfectly executed. Schnitzel is amazing, and don't forget the Spätzle! The homemade desserts are wonderful!

Mike S.

Yelp
Hungarian Schnitzel was perfectly done. Plenty of gravy and mushrooms along with the spatzle complimented this dish. Cucumber salad was delicious as well. The service was prompt and impeccable

Jodi A.

Yelp
Took my granddaughter for her first time and I got the liver and onions! Holy smokes, best yet! This is as good as my homemade! Even as busy as it was for the first night of Lent, the service was great and the vibe was still chill! Everyone was having a great time.

Courtney W.

Yelp
I had to lower my review. While the food is quite good and tasted well prepared the atmosphere I complained about before was not improved. It was very busy tonight and the only spot we could get was on a high top near the bar. We were seated in a spot that was at the end of the section. I was across from the door and everytime someone came in I felt cold air. It's winter so it was cold. I feel bad that the bartender had to service this section as well. There should be wait staff here. She was to busy with the bar customers to have to do double duty. I didn't expect this sit down restaurant to have a 'bar regular' vibe and it did. It was loud where I was seated and I was hoping for a quiet sit down meal. I had the chicken livers and they were delicious but the portion could of been a bit bigger. Good food, not the atmosphere I was looking for on date night. I may or may not be back.

Caro W.

Yelp
Best German - Hungarian food in my 50 years in Cincinnati. Service is great - graciously paced. As many as a real Biergarten. No reservations for small groups but that's never been a problem. Esp supportive of Handicapped needs

Elle B.

Yelp
I have ate there several times and the salmon was my favorite dinner on the menu. It's discontinued, I believe. Schnitzel looks amazing and tastes great. Give them a try.

Jonathon C.

Yelp
I live out of town now, but whenever I come home this is one of my first stops. An absolute classic Cincinnati restaurant- although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, my favorite is the Cincinnati Schnitzle, which has goetta on it. Order that with a tall pint from any Cincy brewery and you have yourself heaven on a plate. It tastes like home.

Michelle D.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Laszlo's for awhile now and finally got the chance tonight. We were in the area and stopped in for a late dinner. It was an hour before closing and I was worried it might be too late but the server was friendly and made us feel welcome. They serve Eastern European food and there were many menu items that were so tempting. After ordering our drinks we ordered the Steamed Mussels as an appetizer. While we were waiting for the mussels the server brought out rolls with some olive oil. The mussels are served in a white wine broth and topped with some garlic toast. We enjoyed them quite a bit and the broth was so yummy that we could've slurped it up with a spoon. For our main entrees we both decided on the Stuffed Cabbage Roll. It's served with mashed potatoes. An additional side came with the entree and we both chose the spinach salad. My husband isn't usually a salad person but he was raving about this spinach salad. It was perfectly dressed, with just the right amount dressing and toppings. The stuffed cabbage rolls were delectable. Some of the best stuffed cabbage rolls that we've had, other than what our grandmother's used to make. The house-made mashed potatoes were yummy too. We were stuffed when we left and happy that we finally had a chance to visit for a tasty meal. The service was great, the bartender makes a fantastic Old Fashioned, and the food was amazing. We will definitely come back soon.

Mark S.

Yelp
Cool place. Nice beer choices including some unique nitro handles. Big menu with Lots of interesting German fair, maybe I missed something as I didn't expect that! Awesome lunch service made it a quick in and out. Good hot food came quickly so we were able to get on our way.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Fantastic food and great service! Our server Denee was top notch! The cracklings are absolutely delicious!

Bill W.

Yelp
Food taste great but the service was extremely slow. New bartender overwhelmed and under-staffed. We ordered about an hour ago and still waiting. Kitchen management is non existent.

Chris R.

Yelp
The beef goulash is the best I have ever had. Ever. I have brought a few friends here to try it and they feel the same way. Best ever.

John W.

Yelp
The back of the house and the chef are great. Think he could use a little more salt but otherwise pretty solid. Does a great job with the seafood. The front of the house is inconsistent and not well trained. They don't sell the specials and have limited menu knowledge. Drinks are never the same. Hate to say it but there are a few bad apples from the service side that keep this restaurant from really flying high. Unfortunately with the inconsistent service i would go 3 stars. Clean up the service and we would be a solid 4.

Tony T.

Yelp
My wife had been wanting to try Laszlo's for a while so we finally decided to go. Let me first say our waitress was great. No complaints there. Our entrees were good as well. We both ordered the wiener schnitzel. What I didn't like were the appetizer choices. I understand that it's a German restaurant but it wouldn't kill them to add a couple of American inspired appetizers. The bread they brought us tasted good but the dipping sauce that came with it was absolutely horrible. We asked the waitress to bring us some butter for it, which she did, and it was much better. And the margarita I ordered was one of the worst I ever had. It turned out the bartender wasn't there yet so the waitress made the margarita herself. I drank it but after we left the restaurant we stopped at Don Rigo's and had a very good margarita at the bar.

Jackie L.

Yelp
I am ECSTATIC that Laszlo's made it through the past 2 years!!! My military group was stationed near Munich in Bavaria. Laszlo's is our GO TO gathering place in the Cincy area! Best Schnitzel, Best Hungarian Food, Best EVERYTHING THEY SERVE! We just enjoyed a wonderful dinner there. Wonderful service, Such delicious food! This is a memorably great place to dine!
