We were staying at a hotel in the area. Many restaurants close in the afternoon and don't open until 7 or 7:30pm. We decided to try L'Atelier because it was open all afternoon and late night. The menu indicated traditional French food. Our first time at the restaurant, Ibrahim was our server. He was fantastic! I had been practicing my rusty French for several months before our trip. I conversed in French with Ibrahim, but he noticed my husband did not speak French. Once I explained that I wanted to practice my French, Ibrahim spoke to me in French and provided a French menu but spoke in English and gave an English menu to my husband.
The food was excellent. The portions were good and the price was reasonable. We had been craving escargot since our last trip to Paris. We had the escargots and a wonderful veal stew.
We enjoyed the food so much we returned another night when we were tired and did not want to wait for other restaurants to open.
Ibrahim immediately remembered us and spoke French to me and English to my husband. Again the meal was really wonderful and we quite enjoyed the experience.
The night before we left we wanted to eat early, since we had to be up and leave for the airport at the crack of dawn. Ibrahim was our server and as we had come to expect the service was wonderful and the food was just as good. We will make sure we eat at L'Atelier the next time we are in Paris.
Thank you Ibrahim for 3 wonderful evenings
