On the Grid : Latin World

"There’s a lot packed into this small space. A Latin grocery store with a kitchen in the back. They’ve packed as many tables in as they could and—though it’s a bit cramped—has a great vibe around dinner time. You’ll find yourself looking over other patrons’ shoulders to decide what to order next. But ultimately you should order the nachos and lots of fish tacos." - Zachary Radford

I had the enchiladas and it was a surprisingly large portion and very flavourful. My meal came with a small side of rice and beans, which were also tasty. They also welcome you with a small side bowl of chips and sauces before your meal at no charge. That was a delightful surprise. The service was also great - my only feedback is to make the menu a little more beginner friendly. If you’re not familiar with this type of food, you may have a hard time understanding the menu items & the server wasn’t able to clarify because English wasn’t their first language. There are some menu descriptions, but I found it a bit overwhelming to decide. That’s a me-problem though! Portion size and price was also a good value. Highly recommend!

Visited this placed a few times, it never disappoints! Staff is super friendly and helpful when choosing what to order. We usually go there for tacos but had to have a burrito this time! Sauce was very tasty, the tacos are always perfect. I highly recommend this place. They also have a corner where you can buy Mexican candy and other products.

Latin World on Bloor really feels like a little piece of Mexico in Toronto! The decor is super colorful and fun—piñatas, papel picado, cute skulls, and cozy crochet tablecloths everywhere. You can tell they put love into every detail. I went at night and absolutely loved the vibe and the crowd. I tried their tacos, but unfortunately, I didn’t like them. I didn’t like the smell of the bread and the quantity was very small. They also served chips with dips, but I didn’t enjoy those either. Still, the atmosphere was lovely, and it’s the kind of spot that instantly lifts your mood!

Stopped by Latin World to satisfy a bit of a Latin food craving and ended up here after checking out the quirky interior and laid-back vibe. Since I already had a pretty heavy meal earlier in the day, I decided to keep it light. Went with the Nopal Taco (the one with grilled cactus) and A La Mexicana, which is a shrimp dish cooked in salsa ranchera, served with rice and salad. Paired that with Inca Kola, which apparently tastes just like cream soda. To be honest, for a Saturday evening with nearly empty house and all that casual chaos, I didn’t expect too much. But in a weird way, I actually enjoy that slightly offbeat, mismatched energy you often get at Latin spots. There’s always something a little awkward going on, and I don’t know why, but I kind of love that. Sure, the taco shell could’ve been better, and the server wasn’t exactly on point with the drink availability. Could’ve also explained the dishes a bit more instead of just saying "I don't know", but hey, the food itself hit the spot. Would’ve liked a bit more kick in the seasoning, but at least the server was open to adjusting and didn’t miss a thing once asked. Bonus point goes to the heart-shaped rice. No idea why that detail stuck with me, but it did. All in all, it’s one of those places that might not check every box perfectly, but something about it makes you want to come back.

You walk in, and it feels like you have traveled to Mexico 🇲🇽. The warmth of the people, the vibrant colours, the art inside the restaurant, the music, and the matchless taste of the food! It's a whole experience. I can't get enough of the tacos ...the salsas and the Tamarindo juice! ❤️🇲🇽 I bought a medium jar of the salsa for home. Don't take my word for it.Try it yourself 😊 It's a whole vibe.

Google
very nice and beautiful restaurant, very kind waiter, good food but too greasy! very big and worrying problem was cleanliness! they serve bread inside a very dirty thing with all the stains from the previous food! even the cutlery is in bags that take off hairs and you could see that they have not been clean for more than a year

Place is nicelly decorated, every detail inside the place is nice and reflects a piece of the rich Mexican culture. The food, on the other hand, no thank you. Our order of tacos came with different typers of sauces, which is highly appreciated. One of the sauces tasted like starting to spoil, but it is ok, It can happen to anyone. When the tacos arrived, we were dessapointed even before we started to eat, them confirmed our feeling when eating. Our horchata had something tick in the base of the glass, which I assume it's sitting for quite long. Server was really nice. I wouldn't recommend, I wouldn't return.
