We started by having to find it....no address given, just the street name. Key was not in lock box and when Wade (assuming he is local PM) brought the key, he was rude and quite arrogant. Wade should not be working with the public!||The rental is convenient to things in town & beach but your bed will be about 20 feet off the main drag which has lots of traffic (especially motorcycles). Even with ear plugs it was difficult to sleep. Expect the town to start waking up at around 5:30 am. When the water jug (which wasn't completely full when we arrived) emptied, we asked Wade for a refill. He kept walking and said "call Vacasa". We reached out to Vacasa who said they would take care if it (this was in the am). At dinnertime, when no water was provided & we had no communication, we reached out again only to be told then that this is OUR responsibility. Anyway, don't expect water even if it is pictured in the listing. ||6 weeks on the road this winter...only rental we were disappointed it! If you can find different rental in Hopkins, DO! It's a lovely village!

Wade made our trip to Hopkins. His knowledge and tips were fantastic. He also has free bicycles to explore on and the rooms are just across from the beach. it is situated just by the main crossroads to get on/ off the bus if you travel that way. His recommendations for bars and restaurants are spot on due to him living there for so long. We felt very safe and the rooms were very comfortable. Try and watch sunset on the roof it is spectacular.

We had a brief but terrific stay at Latitude 17. The rooms are well-appointed and spacious. We weren't cooking while we were in Hopkins, but the room was thoroughly outfitted with everything you'd need if you were. Also, we really appreciated the refillable water station in the room to help cut down on single use plastic bottles. Wade, the owner, has a wealth of knowledge and great recommendations for the area. I would definitely stay here again.

The suite was a great size and the rooms were clean and cozy and in a great central location with walkability to many of the restaurants in Hopkins and right across the street from the beach. From the moment we arrived the owner Wade, met us at check in and instantly made us feel welcome! Overall each of the staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area letting us know great local places to eat and visit. I stayed in the 2bedroom suite and the rooms were very clean and well stocked. The bikes available were very useful for getting around town and were in great condition. I would absolutely suggest catching a sunset from the lookout porch, where they have a full 360 view of the village, beach, and wetlands as far as the eye can see. I absolutely plan to come back to Hopkins Village and will be looking forward to staying at Latitude 17 again.

Our research team has always enjoyed our stays at Latitude 17. This summer was our largest team visit to Latitude for 24 days. We rented all of the rooms. Wade and the staff are incredible hosts. The accommodations are top notch and at an affordable price. The location in the heart of the village on the main road is a definite plus. And check out the rooftop terrace…it offers incredible views of the Sea, Hopkins, and the mountains. Can’t say enough good things about Latitude 17. Will always return with our future groups because of the wonderful staff and wonderful accommodations.

If you're going to Hopkins, stay at this place! The rooms are very nice and clean, we really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and chilling in the hammock. But the real reason to come here is the hospitality. Wade is a great host who knows how to make sure his guests have a good time. He is a great help for planning your activities and is always in the mood for a nice chat. We had a hard time organizing a trip to the cockscomb basin because the roads were really muddy. In the end, Wade took us there and did the hike with us. This was one of the most remarkable experiences in Belize. We've had such a great time in Hopkins. Thanks for everything Wade, if we ever return to the village, we'll make sure to stay with you again :-)

We had such a great stay at Latitude 17! This is our 2nd trip to Hopkins and we chose Latitude for the bikes and location. We learned on the 1st visit that “on the beach” is no biggie and Latitude 17 is across the street and an easy 50 yards to ocean (all the beaches are public there). It is also next door to a grocery, a fresh fruits stand, a gift shop, and several places to eat – more importantly. The owner, Wade, is super attentive and friendly. We were greeted as we pulled in and spent lots of time chatting with Wade about Hopkins. Wade has some very cool peddle-boards and offers tours of the bay for manatee and ray spotting. These contraptions are super stable versions of standing paddleboards that ride like a bike meets stair-stepper – super fun, easy, and stable. We’d recommend doing a tour with Wade on them! Our Garden Room was clean and well-stocked with supplies. There is no TV or microwave in this room but plenty of pans, glasses, and a stove and sink just outside on the included porch. We spent our mornings on the covered porch sipping tea in the rocker and hammock while admiring Wade’s garden. The shower is big and had plenty of hot water with good pressure. See if you can talk Wade into letting you catch a sunset from his penthouse hut – tallest in Hopkins for a 360 view! Dismiss the bad reviews resulting from what must have been a noisy rude guest as Wade was nothing but accommodating to us and the entire property was quiet, safe, organized, well-constructed and clean. We did borrow some bikes (plenty available there, maybe 8 to 10, and all in good repair) and it made for a fun day. We have stayed at other similarly priced Belize properties and Latitude 17 is the best yet. We really love Hopkins vibe and Latitude 17! We will be back and likely will upgrade to check out some of the other suites there.

Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and even though the property is off of the main road it was private and quiet. Wade himself really is what makes this property shine though. His hospitality was above and beyond, sharing with us great recommendations for things to do and see, and inviting us up to his home's rooftop patio to watch the beautiful sunset over the mountains. The passion he has for his guests and his community are apparent, and you can tell he puts a lot of pride into ensuring his guests are comfortable and happy. And even though a ton of wonderful restaurants are within easy walking distance, we really appreciated that Wade had bicycles available so we were able to check out more of lovely Hopkins. Highly recommend. Thanks, Wade!
