LATITUDE Chicago

The best place in Chicago to get your film developed. I have used a few studios in Chicago to get my film developed and scanned. For one reason or another, I came away from the other places unsatisfied. This is not the case with Latitude. The staff is incredibly nice. Its an easy location to get to. Their turn around time is really good. And most importantly, the results are fantastic. I came back from a trip to Japan and dropped off 9 rolls with them. I had been planning this trip for years, and getting good results from my film photography was really important to me. I got the scans back from Latitude in just a few days (mind you I dropped off a lot of film), and they even refunded me for a roll that ended up being blank. The results of their development and scans left me emotional. You spend so much time shooting, reading light, and composing film, and you want those results to be nice. Latitude did an excellent job providing me with images that will last a lifetime. They even talked me down from getting unnecessary upscales to my images that saved me a lot of money. You can trust your film to be developed and scanned here. I did, and the results are truly incredible.

Working with LATITUDE was a dream come true. Keanna and the team took great care to make sure my prints turned out exactly how I wanted. They are also very meticulous with their printers which a great experience after having had prints from other places where the color tones were off. As an artist, I felt heard and respected and will definitely continue to work with them for all of my printing needs. As someone who is very picky with my files, I was thrilled that LATITUDE matched and exceeded my expectations. Plus, excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

My family held an Art Show for my father , who died 20 years ago. Latitude did the prints we had made from the original pictures, charcoals, oil, and acrylics. Keanna and her team were unbelievably helpful and did their work to perfection! I would recommend this organization for any of your Artistic needs. We auctioned off the prints for a camp for people with disabilities and it was a resounding success. Thank you!

If you’re a photographer looking to buy film or get your film developed/scanned, I highly recommend not wasting your time at Latitude. Their film fridge is almost empty—no Portra 400 or 800, for example. Developing alone (no scans included) takes 5-7 days, and they falsely advertise that they’ll develop and scan your film if you purchase it from them.

I loved my experience with Latitude. I had a very small job but they treated me like a VIP at every step along the way. They are terrific and produced a high quality result.

I used to go here a lot. Folks were generally friendly and helpful. Had some film developed that I left there. Back then they had a policy that if you don’t pick up your film within a certain amount of time they would throw it out. I was aware of that time limit and I had called them to tell them that I couldn’t pick it up within that window and asked them to please not throw my film away, that I would be by in about a week. The person I spoke to said, “Oh we say we’re gonna do that but we never actually do, don’t worry. Your film is safe.” I show up a week later and my film was gone. No one put a note on my film saying I had called to ask them to please not throw it away. The person I spoke to said they threw everything into the dumpster. I was so devastated I asked them to show me which dumpster was their’s so I could go look for them. I went swimming in garbage for my film but they clearly had already been taken out to the landfill. I had the minimal quality scans at the time and it ended up being four rolls of the best work I ever took. I had been asked to make prints of those photos more than any other photos I had taken, but the quality wouldn’t have done them justice. I was taking photos all the time but after that I literally couldn’t take pictures for a year after I was so heartbroken; and since then I never shot with the same passion. All I got for my distress that day was a shrug, nothing to remedy the situation at all. Had the person I talked to on the phone not been lazy and just made a note for me, or if they were just honest and said they wouldn’t make exceptions, I would’ve arranged for a friend to pick it up. Instead I got the vibe “Welp, not our fault you should’ve picked it up.” This was 6 years ago now and still every time I see one of those photos I took I’m heartbroken all over again. I will never forget it and will never return to this place again.

This is a nonprofit printing service for artists. Their service is excellent and their print quality is excellent and really low cost. They also have classes in case you would like to do the work yourself. The only downside is that this is a very busy area and parking can be a challenge.

Great staffs - very helpful with orders. Film developing is super fast (1-3 biz days). Good quality.

Latitude is a great place to make photo prints, film scan, and hang out with photo people!

I needed to a have photo cropped and then enlarged to 8x10 to display next to the urn with my brother's ashes at hit funeral. Of course this all had to be arranged on-line, and I did approve what they sent me. But when I picked up the photos my extreme disappointment was evident. Alex saw how upset I was very graciously offered to redo the order while I waited, at no cost. This is stellar customer service!

I had a super last minute request to get a picture for my mom printed for Mother's Day and could not find a place that could get it done on time. I had a tip from J&S printing who told me to call Latitude and that's what I did. Caitlin was beyond gracious and helpful and while I called late on Friday night (when they were about to close) she said she'd have it ready the early the next day. (Everywhere else told me 3-4 days). That may have been Latitude's normal timeline but I could tell they were trying to be helpful and because of that my Mom will be super happy and I will definitely go back to them again.
