We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon before venturing to Chania. The hotel was exactly what we needed as we were not going to be camping out here when there was much to explore. While there is no parking at this hotel, public parking was fairly close. The only tricky part was parking your car to unload your bags if you have several to haul up to the room.||We enjoyed our view of the fort and the sea. It was quiet and clean. Easy access to the business/shopping district which we enjoyed immensely. ||We ate at Herb's Garden and the food was very good. Their sauteed mushrooms and grilled steak would be repeat orders.||We donated money to the gentleman while walking to our car who feeds the stray dogs and cats. We ate the local restaurants and never had a bad experience.||We loved watching the kittens play in an abandoned lot below.||Check out Dice Heart if you love gaming D&D themed coffee houses. Walking distance to the Archealogical Museum which I think is free on Sunday.

Breakfast was awful, don't bother. But the room was lovely, clean, great bed, lovely balcony looking out towards the marina. Will definitely be back! And it's a 5-minute walk to either the sea or the pedestrian area. Just perfectly located.

This hotel is the true quintessence of hospitality. It was my first time in Crete, where I followed the traces of my Venetian past and explored the island as a scholar of the Mediterranean. I stayed seven days at Lato Boutique Hotel and was enchanted.||The view of the Venetian Fortress from my room was breathtaking. Era at the front desk, Daniela, and the entire rooftop restaurant team were naturally kind and attentive, making my stay unforgettable.||Each day brought a different meal, a different flavor, a different emotion — an invitation to rediscover what is essential: hospitality, joy, and generosity. Beauty was present in every detail. I cannot wait to return.

The hotel was overall a good choice for a couple of nights right in the heart of Heraklion city and extremely convenient for visiting both the old and new ports. However, I am glad I was only here for two nights and spent the rest of my trip in another, more premium, hotel elsewhere on the island. The Superior Double Room Sea View we had was surprisingly small with very little in it except a bed and a small desk. The balcony was literally just big enough for the two chairs provided (the remainder was occupied by an air conditioner) and there was hardly enough leg room to even sit down. The view however was excellent - ours had a view down to the Venetian fortress. The air conditioner was noisy and the door seal was bad causing a lot of wind noise to enter even when closed but we had an otherwise quiet stay. From looking at the floor plan a suite would be the smallest room I would consider for a longer stay - I looked into one whilst it was being cleaned and it looked like a good size with a separated sitting area. The roof top bar was excellent, with very friendly staff and good (for the city) prices. The view was excellent, going across 270 degrees (at least) of the city including the entire seafront and ports. Breakfast was good with a small selection of hot items but plenty of unusual things to try including my favourite - four different kinds of syrup soaked fruits (similar to a glacé fruit). The staff were happy to store our luggage both before and after our stay and had a system of labelling against the room number which was a nice touch. Overall fine for what it provided and very good staff.

Stayed here for a week as a package from love-holidays. At first I was very skeptical as it seems to good to be true. We booked flights ✈️ and accommodation with private transfers to and from airport 🛫. From the moment we got to the hotel we knew we were going to have e an amazing time. The hotel was fresh, clean, staff was really welcoming and nothing was a problem. Breakfast was really good, again clean dinning room, fresh produce displayed at all times. I cannot find any faults and as a Head chef I should. I would 💯 percent recommend this hotel. Also I would like to send a special thank you to (Fotini ) you were such an amazing help to us organising our wine tasting, recommendations to the beach ⛱️ and our tour to Santorini, you are a true natural and very good at what you do. Thank you. Also to Silia and Ira all you guys made our trip very special so a big thank you to each and everyone. Till next time. Sincerely |Stafford and Jean

We only stayed for one night but the people could not have been more helpful. The upstairs restaurant was superb with wonderful views across the Harbour and great food. Our bedroom was clean and the bed very comfortable. It was easy to do some exploring of the nearby streets and harbour from the hotel. Next time we'll stay longer!

I stayed at this hotel for 8 days and I must say it was a wonderful experience. The room we got was a superior sea side view which was amazing, also it conveniently placed close to some amazing food places around, just a 5 min walk to all the restaurants in the area, also the hotel restaurant has some great food. I must add that the central bus station is very close just a 10 minute walk too , It's a great place to go if you want to visit the beaches, the buses have a long track to different places so you can get a ticket to the stop where you desire.

This hotel is primarily for city breaks and overnight stays. My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks (a bit of an experiment). The great bits: the room was very clean. Free parking is a huge bonus if you have a car. The bed was firm and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful. The location is superb. The breakfast was absolutely fine: no surprises and definitely geared towards those staying for a couple of days and no more (limited choice but good quality). For stays of a longer duration hold these thoughts: no room has a chest of draws in it: we unpacked one case and had to use the other for the two weeks. Our room (308) was small and the balcony tiny: impossible for two to be out at any one time. The rooms facing away from the harbour are significantly larger in the majority of cases but are overlooked. The copy we read when booking was that the hotel has two restaurants and a bar. This is true but only one restaurant is open at any one time and the bar is only open off season. Staying for two weeks we soon got bored of eating off the half board menu every night and started dining out. We could have eaten off the full menu (and did one night) but we had to pay 70% of the cost of the main course. In summary I would highly recommend this hotel for both a short stay and a longer one but if you are staying for more than 3 days, speak to the hotel about your room and think carefully about taking the half board option. There are a multitude of other places to eat within easy walking distance. On a final note: there is a very small but perfectly formed beach within 15 minutes walking distance of this hotel: used by locals and with lovely clear water and fish: we visited most days. It's located next door to the Natural History Museum of Crete. Enjoy!
