Where to Stay in Dublin When You Visit in 2025

"Located near Connolly Station, this is my favorite hostel in the city: dorm beds are cozy pods with thick mattresses, individual lights, curtains, and outlets; there's an on-site bar and restaurant, private rooms for families, lots of common space for socializing, and spacious, clean bathrooms." - Matthew Kepnes

Jacob’s Inn was my first stop on a 3 week trek across Europe, and I was quite pleased. This was both my first stay in a hostel and my first solo trip, having Jacob’s inn as my first stop has felt like a lovely introduction to solo travelling and hostels. Like everything, there are pros and cons. ||Pros:|- I loved the privacy of the pods. It allowed the bathroom to remain open when you need to change as you’re sharing a room with 12 people, and generally just made me feel a touch safer beings alone. Additionally it was nice because since I was jet lagged, I was on my phone quite late and I wasn’t worried about bothering anyone. ||- The hostel was very clean and seems relatively up to date. There are bathrooms in the rooms but a women’s and men’s washroom on the first and second floor as well as a bathroom on the main floor, as someone with a small bladder, this was very helpful. ||Generally, this hostel was quite nice. ||Cons:||- The showers do tend to shut off quite a bit sooner than 15 seconds as the sign indicates, but I appreciate the effort to conserve water||- The pods do get quite warm at night, but I’d rather a pod than bunk beds||- The lockers for storing your luggage before check in and after check out are quite expensive, (3euros for the 1st hour and an additional euro each hour, my own currency is not as strong as the euro so this racked up for me) but again, I am thankful that they have lockers. ||Overall, an excellent hostel. Few tweaks here and there but nothings perfect. I would definitely both stay here again and recommend to a friend :)

Stayed here briefly during a long layover in Dublin. It's a great little hostel in Dublin with kind staff. The rooms were great too with very comfy beds. There were some great social events hosted there too that I would have loved to have been part of. The only drawback is the distance from the airport but if you're staying in Dublin you really can't go wrong here.

First time solo in a hostel and it was a great experience. Staff are very helpful and around 24 hours a day. Pods were clean and a good size. You could sit up in them if needed. They do get a bit hot but nothing unbearable. Ensuite was clean and had everything you need. You also have an option to be put in a quiet room if you choose. There’s a bar/restaurant in the hostel if you decide to stay in. Overall great value, would come back.

An excellent hostel.||A few mins walk to Connolly station, although 15-20mins walk from a lot of central Dublin attractions, so if that’s important you may want to stay closer to the action. |Pods are clean and comfortable, with a light and USB socket, but annoyingly no plug socket. The in-room shared bathroom facilities are also very clean, with hand soap and shower gel provided, although sadly towels are not. Dorms also have lockers (using your own padlock).||The downstairs bar and lobby areas are great spaces with a good atmosphere.

This was an incredible place to stay! Pods are super private and very clean. Plenty of space for personal items and it never felt cramped even with 10 people to a room. The lounge area and bar are so nice to hang out in and a great place to meet people. The staff were awesome and had plenty of recommendations for things to do and the location was perfect. Lots of famous places to go and see that were really close by and it was right near a train stop and bus stop for the airport shuttle.

The best hostel I've stayed at in Dublin! Everything was super organized and clean. The rooms were modern and beautiful. I stayed in a women-only room with a private bathroom, which was always super clean. It's relatively close to the city center, main attractions, and public transportation. Every night, they organize an activity for socializing in the hostel bar. I really loved everything!

Really nice hostel. Great staff and very convenient location for the city centre and travel links. The pods are very private but get extremely hot. I wouldn't recommend for people who struggle to sleep in hot and/or confined spaces. The hostel do lend out small fans which are essential and made a huge difference. There is a lovely roof terrace which I used a lot during our stay. My favourite part of the hostel. As others have said, the immediate area around the hostel is quite rough at night. I saw homeless, drunk people, drug addicts and fighting. It could be intimidating for some travellers.

I paid ~25 euro for a pod in a 12-bed coed dorm and really enjoyed my one night. Very secure - two keypads to get to your dorm; then keypad locking storage unit for your belongings Clean - doesn't have the persistent mildew odor in bathrooms and the en-suite is convenient Comfy - offer free ear plugs; curtains for each pod Quiet - where/when you want it to be. Cool public spaces but a very respectful crowd during sleep hours at this hostel. Varied ages and backgrounds. possible con(s)? It can get hot when Ireland is having warmer weather. Also, luggage storage before check-in cost me 9 euro.
