Our room was small, but clean and comfy. The mattress was hard, and the room was quiet at night and we therefore slept well. Breakfast wasn't excessive but had everything we needed, I especially liked the fresh bread. The outside pool in an inner yard of the building with its chill area were an absolute treat in the afternoon sun. Given the very central location, just off from one of the main streets of the city center, coupled with a fair price, I recommend it.

Hotel was ok.|Location was central close to Metro. |Breakfast there was a good variety. |Pool but extremely small. |We stayed as a large family group with 4 rooms. |It suited us as we just needed a shower and a bed as we spent our days exploring. |The hotel is suitable for this. |staff were friendly.

Good location and the beds are pretty comfortable. The rooms are so hot and muggy, and there is no place to hand towels, no ventilation. Reception was friendly, but some staff members clearly just invited their friends over to hang out all day and use the pool. It made it not only uncomfortable, but also impossible to enjoy the pool as it was always loud and packed with people who were not clients.

The staff were excellent, really helpful, friendly and relaxed. We stayed in a room in the modern part across the courtyard. It was nicely finished and comfortable. The bed was massive! We swam in the heated pool in the morning, in early May and it was very pleasant. Really well located near the metro. Lots of shops nearby and an easy walk, 25-30 mins to Grand Place. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay here in April. The hotel is in a good location, about a 20 min walk to the main tourist areas. Also a few minutes walk from a Metro station. The room was very clean, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The shower was very warm and we had a lot of fun using the pool! Would definitely stay here again. We were able to use the luggage storage on our last day after checkout before we headed home.

As many reviewers noticed, the location of the hotel is on a side alley and there are homeless and drug addicts that are loitering around which makes it feel very unsafe and pretty unnerving. If I were alone as a woman I would not want to stay here and would be terrified. The hotel and rooms are clean, staff are really friendly, but everything is tired and worn out. There is no AC, and you can only open a very small window in the room, so it was very hot and stuffy. No coffee facilities in the room, in the bathroom there is only soap and shampoo and nothing else. The pool is a small pond, pretty crowded and not really for swimming, it is more like a tub. In the evening a lot of people are hanging around the pool, our room was facing the courtyard which was nice, but everyone hanging out in the garden could see us and we could see them. The breakfast is good and there is plenty of choice, but as a number of people wrote you have to cook your own eggs which is a bit odd. This place has very much a hostel feel, it looks like that on the outside, tue amenities are like that, and we couldn't believe that we arrived to a 4 star hotel when we reached the address. This could probably suit young adults and/or students, but for us there was too much left to be desired for, especially for that price and we were disappointed with our stay. We expected a lot more and felt this was not at all value for money. We chose this hotel because we wanted to be in Ixelles as we heard it is a nice area of Brussels, but for the price we paid we could have gotten a lot more comfort in a much nicer and safer location..

We checked into this hotel just before 3 o’clock and were casually told that our room would have no water for an hour because there had been a leak. In fact the room had no water for several hours, not even to flush a toilet or brush your teeth. Things happen. But what was shocking was that the staff were casual to the point of surliness. Because I needed to go to a formal work event, they gave us the key to a different room in a different building where we were able to have a sort of shower (though the shower was broken and the water came out of a hose, but not from the shower-head). That room was not just grubby, like the whole|hotel, but also decorated like something out of a Gothic novel. When I asked for a bottle of water to boil the kettle, I was told that I could buy one from a vending machine. This seemed like the last straw. There was no suggestion of a refund our even a discount for our inconvenience, and a single small bottle of water only offered after I complained. An apology did not seem within the rhetorical range of the staff at this dreadful establishment.

This is an unsolicited review. An excellent stay. Highly recommend. Special thanks to both reception and housekeeping. Everyone is working very hard to give guests a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. Rooms were spotless (and very comfortable). Special thanks to the young man who worked the night shift on Monday night. We stumbled in about 7am after a very long flight and after another reservation fell through, and he took wonderful care of us. Because of this care, we are choosing to return to the hotel for a second stay on our way back to the airport (an easy taxi/Uber). Don’t hesitate to book. Edit: In the middle of a second stay. Can truly say the reception and dining staff is exceptionally welcoming, accommodating, and professional. They efficiently and seamlessly sorted a tricky issue with our reservation so that it was resolved before we arrived back. The housekeeping staff is also doing amazing work keeping the rooms spotless. Our room was huge, super clean, and very comfortable. The bed/pillows, bathtub, and quiet room were restorative. All the staff deserve bonuses/raises! One note to management: probably by next summer the hotel will need to install AC wall-units; the fans were fine but not enough to keep the room completely cool at the hottest point of the afternoon. But of course this is due to climate change: places once did not get this hot sadly must confront this new reality. Similarly, the bathroom will need ventilation to not become an oven. But there is a small pool and plenty of seating in the shade inside and outside the hotel. Besides, very few hotels in Belgium (or anyone this far north) are ready for such extreme heat, and I prefer Jardin Secret for the service, quality, and unbeatable location over any big box hotel that is usually not eco-friendly. I will continue to return to Jardin Secret both on layover in BRU and extended stays. Cheers to the entire team, keep it up!
