We were so excited about going to this organic and ecological hotel - and were badly disappointed. They had booked us in a cubicle kind of room away from the main building of the hotel. This cubicle clearly had seen better days, the bathroom extremely small (two slim people could barely be there at the same time), poorly cleaned. The balcony was useless, as the roof above it was built from wooden slats with big spaces in between! And it was raining that night... ||||As we wanted to enjoy the truly benefits of organic food, we booked a table in the restaurant l'Aubier. The first disappointment there was, that some of the menus were not available for what so ever reason. After one full hour, when all guests around us had already received their food (they had ordered long after us) I collected all my best french to ask for our menus. They were totally surprised and hurried into the kitchen. And I was surprised how inattentive all the staff was as they did not realize the lack of our food!! After my complaint the food arrived within no time. But the portions were small (no, vegetarians do not want to loose weight!) and my menu was only lukewarm. ||||As a compensation to the delay they offered a coffee, for my friend they even offered a piece of chocolate cake instead.||||The biggest disappointment was the bed! This was horrible, never in my entire life have I slept worse than this night! Not only was the bed much too small for two people (again, very slim people) but it also had only one duvet and it was HARD like a pallet!! I hardly slept, moved from one side to the other and my back felt like breaking into pieces. In my misery I even tried to sleep on one of the IKEA armchairs, but of course this was even worse... ||||It turned out, that this is a "Hüsler-Nest"-bed... everybody knows, that you cannot sleep one night in a "Hüsler-Nest" and be happy but needs adjustment of minimum two weeks... this was torture. But of course our complaint while checking out was unheard and no compensation was offered. The price was definitely much to high for what we got.||||The idea of an organic and ecological hotel is absolute great and all the farm products they use are first quality. I fully support the philosophy of anthroposophical farming. But behind that idea should be more, it's not enough, sorry.
