We went to a Sunday evening show, which I would definitely not recommend. The tickets were expensive and the crowd was small. The first comedian, Suli Mccullough, basically complained about the small audience for the majority of his set which was a huge bummer. It really seemed like he thought he was too good for this type of performance, despite the fact that he basically bombed.
Honestly, all of the male comedians weren’t very good. They didn’t really tailor their sets to the audience size which led to some uncomfortable moments. The last comic, Darren Carter, definitely made the audience uncomfortable. He was kinda creepy and not funny at all. It wasn’t a great way to close the show. Really disappointing since he seems relatively well known.
The female comedians and the host, Sammy Weiser, were MUCH funnier. Sammy did a great job of making the small crowd feel welcome. She made the intimacy of the room out to be a good thing, calling us all family and making the crowd feel welcome. I was relieved every time she came back on stage.
The 2 drink minimum (per person) was annoying, but they luckily they waived this requirement since the crowd was so small.
Parking was rough, but I can’t blame this venue for that. there was a massive event happening nearby so we had to pay $40 to park at the garage across the street. We paid about $120 just to park and see the show (2 people), not including drinks.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend going to a show unless it is one of their busier dates. It was pricey and I was expecting a much better experience. Pretty disappointing!
